Companies That Combine Mobile Search And Social
September 14, 2012 by: Daniel Todd | includes: AAPL, BCOR, FB, GOOG, LIVE, MIMV.OB, QIHU, YOKU
Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it. I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article. (More...)
Facebook ( FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg revitalized belief in the company earlier this week by announcing that the company is looking to combine its dominance in the social media field with the increasingly lucrative mobile search sector. On the heels of this and other statements, the company's stock experienced its single biggest day's advance since its IPO, finishing Wednesday's regular trading session up 7.7 percent at $20.93
As Google ( GOOG) has demonstrated, there are few areas of technology as lucrative as search, and as mobile devices continue to increase their percentage of overall search, mobile search becomes more and more profitable. If Facebook can manage to leverage its enormous user base (reported to be 955 million) to trigger more mobile search queries it will begin to build a viable revenue stream.
Here are some of the most notable comments Zuckerberg made at his presentation at TechCrunch Disrupt 2012 Conference in San Francisco.
- Facebook is already processing 1 billion search queries per day
- While most searches are to find other people, many are also for businesses/brands and apps.
- Search is a "big opportunity" and is one that Facebook is "uniquely positioned" to go after.
- Facebook already has a team working on search.
Other Mobile Search and Advertising Players to Watch
Apple ( AAPL) showed earlier this year with its $50 million acquisition of Chomp that it is serious about improving its own mobile search engine. Its upcoming iOS 6 is expected to include several Chomp inspired improvements, including improved app discovery and recommendation in its App Store. But there are other vendors out there who may already have a leg up in the areas of mobile search and mobile app search and advertising in particular.
LiveDeal Inc.
LiveDeal ( LIVE) delivers online marketing internet directory services for small and medium sized companies. LiveDeal's stock shot up 7.5% in the premarket Thursday with the news that the company had brought Skype's former head of business development, Perry Teevens on board. Teevens will be responsible for strategic partnerships in his newly formed position of Senior Vice President Business Development. The company offers InstantProfile, which distributes small businesses key contact information to search engines, online directories and social media networks, enabling advertisers to manage their businesses information into one location. It also allows companies to enhance their reach into various destinations a customer may search for.
Mimvi Inc.
Mimvi ( MIMV.OB) has been called the " Google of mobile search platforms." Its search engine has become a leading platform for providing search services for Mobile Apps, Mobile Content, and Mobile Products across all platforms including iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Windows devices. Mimvi offers Amazon-like recommendations under each search result it presents. Mimvi's recent acquisition of Lone Wolf Inc. and its Smash Networks (which claims to have an online community of 79 million) are expected to extend the company's reach into social networks and change how mobile apps are marketed.
The newly combined entity is developing Mimvi Echo, a new mobile app discovery service, scheduled for launch in October, which is designed to make the process of marketing mobile apps affordable and effective for the growing community of developers. Mimvi expects to leverage Lone Wolf's social media reach and community to provide mobile users with targeted marketing campaigns, creating a win for both developers and consumers alike. The company describes its efforts as creating a "Super Platform" designed to combine consumer data driven app development, marketing, lead generation and cultivation, content creation, publishing and syndication under one roof.
Qihoo 360 Technology Co. Ltd.
Qihoo 360 ( QIHU) provides internet and mobile security and advertising products in the People's Republic of China. Its main products in the mobile arena include 360 Mobile Safe, a security program for Android, Apple iOS and Nokia Symbian smartphone. It also provides online advertising services including online marketing, services and search referral services. The war for search dominance in China recently heated up considerably when Qihoo 360 took a shot at the dominant Baidu by releasing its own search engine. While Baidu still claims technological dominance over the Chinese search market, Qihoo has been bolstered by a likely partnership with Google.
Youku Tudou Inc.
Youku Tudou Inc. ( YOKU) operates as an internet television company in China. Its internet television platform allows users to search, view and share video across numerous devices. The company's content includes professionally produced TV serial dramas, variety shows and music videos. It also provides user-generated content. Youku Tudou also offers online video search and discovery, iPhone and iPad channels. It also offers online advertising services to companies operating in consumer goods, IT, automobile, electronics, telecom and other sectors. With the rise of social video and other targeted ads, Youku Tudou looks well positioned going forward.
Blucora Inc.
Blucora ( BCOR) provides so-called "white label" search and monetization solutions to web publishers worldwide. The company also operates its own branded search sites including Dogpile, a metasearch engine in addition to MetaCrawler and WebCrawler. Blucora reported a sixth consecutive quarter that exceeded expectations in the second quarter of 2012.
Conclusion
With its new emphasis on search, Facebook has created hope that it can monetize its growing mobile user base along the same model as Google has employed. Whether it can successfully leverage its massive user base and effectively compete with Google and the other established players in the mobile search and advertising arenas remains to be proven. But these other, smaller players are all beginning to carve out inviting and profitable niches in these fields and are definitely worth a look.
MIMV .28 fox's Tobin Smith take on facebook/mimv makes a lot of sense.

Sputnik/Saltine: re "Possible Competition For Voyant?"
Well, it appears you got the information from a post on iVillage by cubsfanjtm.
Here is what DivineOracle wrote in a reply post to cubsfanjtm.
..."That China company is Chinatel (OTCBB:CHTL).
http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS186907+09-Mar-2009+BW20090309
It will represent more opportunities for Voyant rather than competition.
Chinatel will compete with other telcos/ISPs to provide widespread wireless broadband across all cities. Telcos like China Unicom and China Telecom have their 3G and LTE planned deployments across all cities as well, all chasing after subscriber dollars.
Coverage + Speed + Affordable Rates = Subscriber Dollars
Imagine what RocketConnect can do for any of these telcos/ISPs?
Got VOYT? Come Get Some! "...

(1) First, thanks for the information. It would help if you could supply a link.
(2) My life is not centered around TS and/or CW, therefore, I am not looking for everything out there on the Internet concerning them.
Like I have said so many times before, I only started doing some research for this board long ago and shared the promo finds, the free content, etc with message boards that might have an interest in the material.
You really need to get over whatever negative feelings you harbor, because it only hurts you in the long run.

Possible Competition For Voyant????
Fellow Investor,
What I’m about to share with you is THE MOST EXCITING investment opportunity I have ever found.
And when it comes to making millions in emerging tsunamis, I will match my track record with anyone.
Before I founded ChangeWave Research, I personally rode the Internet wave — turning a $100,000 investment in Xoom.com and other pioneers into $2.8 million in 12 months. I KEPT it, too.
Later, we earned fortunes in…
…satellite radio, pounding the table as XMSR fell to $3 and popping the champagne corks when it shot straight up to $33.
…business intelligence software, riding MicroStrategy from $12 to $235.
…oil services, urging folks to load up when Omni Services slumped to $1.50 — and then celebrating when it jumped to over $12.
I call stocks like these “millionaire-makers” — and if you could only buy one such stock today, this would be IT.
I don’t give a damn what the market is doing. I don’t care if Citigroup implodes again. It doesn’t matter if Congress spends us into oblivion.
This is THE aggressive growth stock to make you millions; if — and only if — you lock up your position NOW!
Indisputable Fact #1
Investing in wireless technologies has created more multi-millionaires and billionaires than any other technology space.
Perhaps you’ve heard of Carlos Slim, the world’s second-richest man, who gained most of his wealth in the ground-floor of Mexico wireless with Telemex.
Or how about Craig McCaw, another wireless pioneer who sold out to AT&T for BILLIONS.
Over a TRILLION in new wealth has been created, building wireless carriers in 180 countries worldwide!
Indisputable Fact #2
China is the next frontier where fortunes are about to be made in wireless.
And I want to introduce you to the best name in the space.
It’s NOT any of the widely recognized China telecoms. In fact, it’s actually an American-based venture, working in partnership with the Chinese government to deliver what all the big names have failed to provide:
Dependable, fast, wireless broadband technology needed to complete China’s entry into the modern world. The guys behind this story will be the next wireless billionaires.
And China’s incredible demand for broadband connectivity is your ticket to creating millions in new wealth for you and your family.
Legacy wealth. Retire and travel the world wealth. Tell the boss to “kiss off” wealth.
This is THE stock. The time is now. And I have a free report, explaining all the details for you online. Make Your Millions in the New China Wireless Boom is ready for you now — simply go here to accept your trial subscription to ChangeWave MicroCap Investor.
Today’s opportunity in China
You may already know the Chinese are now the largest users of the Internet — over 400 million and counting. China is also the fastest-growing market for Internet bandwidth.
There’s just one problem. The existing technology STINKS!
• The current so-called “broadband” systems are slow as molasses.
• The landline systems are prehistoric — they can’t satisfy growing demand.
• And today’s cell systems use phones that are big and clunky, expensive and ill-suited for surfing the Internet.
That’s why the country desperately needs a complete “Internet makeover.” And our tiny little company is in the right place at the right time to deliver what the Chinese people want — inexpensive, reliable and fast broadband everywhere for everyone.
This could be one of the biggest winners ever to come out of microcap land. Get full details here.
And I’m not the only one who thinks so
Your investment has the “full backing” of the Chinese government — the partnership is actually 51% state owned.
The Communist party has a lot riding on this — not just money, but also in terms of prestige. If Bank of America and Citigroup were deemed “too big to fail” here at home, this partnership may be linked too closely to government interests not to succeed.
You see, high-speed wireless rollout has been pretty much a failure so far.
Chinese leaders made bets on existing companies and lost face, as efforts sputtered due to cronyism, bad technologies and poor management.
In desperation, these leaders turned abroad for help — to America, to be more precise. Fed up with delays and excuses, they chose an American firm with proven experience to deploy high-speed wireless on-time and on-budget.
This is a BIG company you’ve most likely never heard of, because they do all their work behind the scenes.
But now they’ve partnered with the Chinese government to form a small microcap company that I believe is destined to become a mega-giant on the China telecom scene — making us very rich in the process.
I’d be disappointed in anything less than a ten-bagger. I’m expecting a twenty-bagger, thirty-bagger or more.
Buy it under $1 now and bank your millions later. Get full details online immediately when you join me at MicroCap Investor now.
Here’s how confident I am in your success
You don’t risk a penny of your one-year trial subscription.
If you don’t double your money — at least — in those twelve months, just ask for the cost of your subscription back, and I’ll be glad to oblige.
This tiny partnership has a monopoly in the space
They are developing and deploying China’s first TRULY high-speed wireless network.
It’s a true wireless 4G system already delivering service at 5-10 megabit speeds in 5 major cities. But with financing in place, this company is on track to a 19-city rollout over the next 24 months — while boosting service to 100-megabit speeds!
And get this — it owns a MONOPOLY for the 3.5MHz spectrum in these cities, with its license running through 2013.
The Chinese company is shuttering potential competitors, because they screwed up. This is China, after all, and they’re not big on tolerance. Our guys have shown they can do the job. And the government doesn’t care about competition — they just want to get the job done.
Me? I’m just eager to count our profits.
Get on the rocket before it blasts off
This tiny partnership is already the fastest-growing broadband provider in China — quickly adding 600,000 new subscribers since rolling out service in Beijing. I project 1.5 million subscribers by the end of the year — and that’s just the launch pad for the rocket flight to follow.
The rollout schedule is spectacular!
The 19-city rollout may seem ambitious. But this company’s technology is not only lightning fast, it’s also incredibly easy to get up and running. That’s why my projections call for 5 million subscribers and over $750 million in revenue — at around 30% margins — by the end of 2011.
Plans are in the works for an ongoing subscriber-count audit by a major international accounting firm. So while your window of opportunity is wide open now, it could — and most likely will — slam shut in a hurry, once this incredible growth story leaks out to the rest of the world.
You pay under a buck a share now. And I‘m looking to cash in sometime in the next couple years for $10 a share, $20 a share, $30 a share or more.
If you want to cash in, too, please join me at ChangeWave MicroCap Investor now.
This is the single best opportunity I’ve ever seen in microcap land. I believe I’ll be bragging about this call for years to come.
And when I brag, I want you to brag back. I want you to be all-smiles at your next reunion or family gathering. I want you to make back much of what you lost to the bear market.
So join me at Microcap Investor.
Pay the discounted introductory rate for a one-year subscription, and you don’t risk a penny of that. I guarantee you’ll at least double your money in the next 12 months, or I’ll refund your full subscription cost at your request.
You can also choose the pay-as-you-go quarterly term. But why not lock up that guarantee on a one-year subscription?
Go here to accept.
5 reasons to own my China telecom now
• Huge and growing demand for a true, nationwide high-speed broadband system.
• This partnership has a monopoly on the leading technology.
• They have the funding in place to support rollout.
• The Chinese government backs these guys — they have a 51% ownership stake.
• Even moderate success can deliver a ten-bagger. And I fully believe a thirty-bagger is within the realm of possibilities.
Join me at MicroCap Investor now.
Sincerely,
Tobin Smith
ChangeWave MicroCap Investor
P.S. Make Your Millions in the New China Wireless Boom is ready for you online now.
Read it, and I think you’ll agree: This tiny China telecom stock offers the most explosive profit potential — the best I’ve seen in all my years in the business. So even just a small investment now can mushroom into a not-so-small fortune over the next couple of years.
Seriously, I’ll be bummed out with anything less than a ten-bagger — and I’m expecting much bigger profits than that. So join me at ChangeWave MicroCap Investor now.
Appears RPTN will finally do something here.
CW MicroCap list
I posted some research items re CW's MicroCap list on Raging Bull's QuietOT board, if you are interested.
That message starts off:
NOTE: As I have said before, I am NOT (nor have I ever been) a subscriber to CW's MicroCap or InnerCircle, so all I can access are the titles of where the symbol MAY have been mentioned. If you have more than a glancing interest in any of the following, please do your own deeper research and talk to your broker and etc

OLD list
AIS, AXAS, BMD.TO, CRIS, CUR, GNO.V, GNOLF.OB, ICLK.OB, ILE, INO, ITKG.OB, LSCG.PK, NXXI, OCLS, OMNI, RPTN.OB, SPPI, TRENQ.PK, VOYT.OB, XCHC.PK
============================================
Taking out the symbols that no longer appear doing in last 6 months CW website symbol search, this may be more up-to-date, but not sure what ALL has been added since the old list. AND, I am NOT positive if the ones I removed have actually been issued sell shares signals, but if they don't appear to have been written up in the last 6 months, I took them off the OLD list. Again I do NOT know what has actually been added or what was written.
AIS, AXAS, CRIS, CUR, ENOC, GNO.V, ICLK.OB, ILE, INO, NXXI, OCLS, OMNI, RPTN.OB, SATC, SPPI
-- ILE filed for bankruptcy, but ILE appears to be in CW newsletters in July 2009 --
then I provided a quote list of the above stocks.

I ended the message with a brief look at each remaining stock's symbol search findings. I only included a few of the more recent possible items where the stock might have been mentioned ie I did NOT include all the titles of each symbol.
3 CW Microcap Stocks
--- CW's info re OCLS, RPTN, CUR at bottom of message posted on Raging Bull's QuietOT board --- see "3 Microcap Stocks With 10-Bagger Potential", if you are interested.
I still occasionally look over the CW free information & promos, but as I have said recently, I am handling some private matters at this time.
OCLS, RPTN, CUR are in the old CW MicroCap list I put together using promos, symbol search on CW's website, etc. --- Some of them may still be in the CW MicroCap recommendation, but others may have had recommendations to sell the shares, while others like Satcon (SATC) have been added. One old holding, ILE, filed for bankruptcy and other old ones are down hard.
TO sputnik/saltine: re TS Stk Review
sputnik/saltine, you asked: ..."One year later!! MLD_38 are you still following Tobin's picks so diligently as in the past?"...
I have answered that exact same question from you too many times across many websites and their various message boards.
i-hub's TS Stk Review message board was just a place to post information gathered regarding TS promos, etc, so individual investors and/or traders had research material to use. Many of us did NOT subscribe to the newsletters, so we had to dig around on the internet for information to share.
Back in August of 2008 most of the posters had moved on to other areas of interest, so I posted the following, just in case anyone still was doing background on TS promos, etc.
August 12, 2008 : Anyone still researching CW & TS? If so ...
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=31414778
...I will post information on what appears to be a recent promo stock. I will try to check back in over the next several days to see if anyone is interested. If I do not get back here, I am posting the info on Raging Bull's QuietOT message board. No one really uses it very often, so I use it at times. Please note, as I have said before, I am NOT making recommendations to buy, sell, hold, short, or any other form of investing and/or trading method. I am simply posting information. And, as I have said before, I do NOT subscribe to CW's Micro-Cap newsletter, so I do NOT know what is written by any of the editors, etc. Good luck in your portfolio choices, MLD38...
---- You might want to review the message post exchange I had back in April 2008 with jonesieatl, the moderator on I-hub's Cornell Yorkville Clients (re toxic financing, etc) ----
April 17, 2008 : "TO jonesieatl: re your Tobin Smith Q"
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=28583806
My post to jonesieatl starts off with jonesieatl's question to the Tobin Smith Stock Review board on i-hub:
jonesieatl, you wrote:
..."Who here is most familiar with ...... Tobin Smith's possible recommendations (past and present) within the OTCBB universe of stocks? For quite a while now I've been doing research on and analysis of the changing fortunes of clients of toxic financier Yorkville f/k/a Cornell."...
I started my reply to jonesieatl with:
....I am NOT familiar with TS MicroCaps, but I put this list together using symbol search on ChangeWave's website, reading promos, reading message boards, etc. I do NOT subscribe to C/W MicroCaps, so all I have is this list of potential stocks. I do NOT know what was said in the newsletter commentaries, but I hope the symbols give you some ideas for your research....
Then
I inserted the gleaned list here in my message to jonesieatl
Then
I inserted a NOTE, before giving jonesieatl some areas to research, including links
......NOTE: I do NOT know if Tobin Smith listed below under "Person: Tobin Smith" is the same Tobin Smith as the editor of ChangeWave, etc. Since I think Tobin Smith of ChangeWave was involved in both MobilePro & Marketocracy Funds, you might check further into the relationship of NuWave Technologies, Inc. & Turnaround Partners & Lehigh Acquisition Corp. & Kipling Holdings, Inc, and etc.
It appears NuWave Technologies, Inc. (NUWV.OB) became Turnaround Partners, Inc. (TRNP.OB), but I do NOT know if Tobin Smith is still involved with any of these companies.
He may have been a go between on arranging financing, etc.
So, it is best if you contact Tobin Smith of ChangeWave to verify anything you find on the Internet like the Incognitus, 2007-08-13 comments, "Tobin Smith's dark side", (see *** below)....

Tobin hit the nail on the head with this rec! Wait until you see what's in the 10K!! There has been major dilution. The A/S has ballooned. Virtually no revenues!!!!
2. PORTFOLIO PRUNING
SELL VOYANT INTL. (VOYT) AND X-CHANGE CORP. (XCHC)
Sometimes you've got to remove the deadwood.
The data from our ChangeWave Alliance research -- from the macroeconomic to the sector levels -- has never looked so darn ugly. In this environment, it's wise to unload the components in our microcap portfolio that are struggling the most.
Those are the companies that have not been able to create a sustainable business model, and don't have sufficient cash positions or ready access to capital and partners to carry themselves through a broad downturn.
Even for nanocaps, Voyant (VONT) and X-Change (XCHC) have become too speculative because of their total lack of visibility and the industry trends (bandwidth boosting and RFID respectively). In this economic climate, these arenas have become way too competitive for fledgling firms.
Another reason for selling them is that microcap investors must be positioned in the strongest companies with the best prospects for the next quarter or two (see the Fresh Money list below). Unlike VOYT and XCHC, our leading microcaps are clearly in the process of transforming themselves into bigger and better companies.
Sell Voyant Intl. (VOYT) and X-Change Corp. (XCHC) at the market and invest the proceeds in one of our Fresh Money picks.
And, as always, we're working hard to uncover the next microcap winners by researching the industries that offer us, as investors, the best opportunities in 2008 and 2009: Alternative Energy and Clean Tech. In fact, we expect to be able to introduce a new microcap recommendation in a week or two.
vizsla,
This is Boots and Coots (WEL); at least according to stockgumshoe dot com. It is a "recycled" reco from Navellier, having first recommended it a couple of years ago.

Grab This $1 Oil Stock While You Can
* Earnings just hit 309%,
* Sales just jumped 126%,
* Oil prices will never be cheaper,
* Only one broker is following this fast mover, AND
* Wall Street is clearly looking the other way.
If you can grab this one at my buy-below price online now, you could be looking at money-doubling gains in 2009 as the dollar falls and oil prices rise higher.
ACT NOW!
Fellow Investor,
If you think President Obama’s new energy plan will make gas-burning cars obsolete, then this message wasn’t written for you.
It was written for those investors who know that…
1. It will be 20 to 30 years or more before electric, fuel cell or hybrid cars rule the roads,
2. The world’s emerging economies are nearly 100% dependent on diesel fuel to generate electricity,
3. Existing oil wells all over the world will still need
to be serviced and upgraded, and—MOST IMPORTANT—
4. It’s for investors who want to corner the market on KEY oil services stocks while oil prices are down and these companies are severely undervalued!
If I’ve described YOU, then my message couldn’t have arrived at a better time.
Truth is…
While demand may be slowing NOW, the long-term direction of oil is up—especially when you factor in the falling dollar that will be driven by President Obama’s $900 billion stimulus program, which will flood the country with money.
That’s what makes my $1 oil services stock such a great money-doubling opportunity for you. And it’s all because U.S. infrastructure spending will not only send the dollar spiraling south but will boost oil prices along the way.
And with OPEC now cutting back production, even a small rise in oil prices (combined with the falling dollar) will send this one soaring—and with it the fortunes of all who stake their claim now…
…so you couldn’t ask for a better opportunity to double your money while Wall Street is clearly looking the other way.
But You’ll Have to Move Quickly…
…because you may not get a second chance.
Louis Navellier here with a fast-moving opportunity in the oil sector you should grab now.
Here’s why:
The $900 billion influx of cash into the economy that President Obama has planned will ultimately weaken the dollar and drive oil prices up—even as demand slows.
How can this be?
That’s because oil is priced in dollars. You see, as the dollar goes down, oil prices go up.
We saw this happen last summer, when the falling dollar helped to drive oil past $145 a barrel!
And while we’re not looking at that kind of burst now, the drop in oil demand is NOT—I repeat, NOT—a permanent state of affairs but a temporary aberration.
Here’s why:
The cold winter and global production cuts will ultimately force oil prices back up to over $50 a barrel—and much faster than you can imagine.
Here’s why:
1. As oil prices collapse, more expensive sources of oil will ultimately be shut down. That includes Canadian sands and oil from deepwater drilling, which run $90 and $60 a barrel to bring out of the ground, respectively.
2. With oil currently at $40 a barrel, it’s no wonder that six new Canadian oil projects have been canceled or delayed.
3. Nor is it any wonder that OPEC recently agreed to a record oil cut in December, reducing production by a massive 2.2 million barrels a day. That’s on top of the 2-million-barrel-per-day cut in October.
That’s only half of the supply destruction that’s taking place that will ultimately push oil prices back up.
4. Most investors don’t know this, but the world is losing 4 million barrels a day from depletion as it becomes more expensive to pump oil out of older wells.
5. The latest numbers from OPEC show that it takes a minimum of $75 a barrel to keep the world's more expensive sources of oil from declining.
6. You see, unlike a manufacturing plant, you can’t simply turn off an oil production facility. You have to continually service it to keep the oil flowing in the future.
What makes the whole situation worse is the fact that falling oil prices have left many OPEC nations with insufficient funds for production development as they bleed off their oil monies to stimulate their own economies.
In fact, one study I read shows that Indonesia’s lack of funds will transform this OPEC member from an oil producer to a net importer.
It may not be the only one in trouble on that front. The International Energy Association now estimates that it will take $500 billion to counter the decline. These emerging producers simply don’t have the money.
The bottom line is this:
What we are witnessing here, my friend, is a classic supply-demand squeeze in the making.
Global oil supplies are falling faster than demand… as falling revenues make it financially impossible to boost production.
When you add to that the fact that today’s low oil prices will ultimately boost demand, the result is obvious:
Rising oil prices will not only drive earnings higher but also put powerful upward pressure on the stocks in the oil services sector.
For these reasons, I’m telling my readers …
This $1 Oil Services Stock Could
Make You Rich
And I’m urging you to add this one to your holdings TONIGHT. Here’s why.
1. This company is the world’s leading oil services company specializing in production enhancement. Simply put, this is THE COMPANY whose services increase the production of oil wells.
2. Without getting too technical, this is the company whose pressure control services get more oil out of the ground at the lowest cost possible.
3. So it’s no wonder the company just signed another $58 million contract in Africa to keep the oil flowing. That’s on top of the 10 Middle Eastern countries where the company operates. This while other companies have failed at renewing existing contracts.
4. What I like most about this company is, even if oil prices were to somehow falter, ALL OIL COMPANIES on Earth must keep their production running like a fine Swiss watch to prevent depletion—especially those with older wells.
5. This is why the company has reported 309% earnings growth and 126% sales growth as oil prices have fallen—all because the company is the low-cost leader in production worldwide.
During the Last Major Up Cycle For This Stock,
it Climbed 250% in Just 14 Days!
I see the same factors repeating themselves NOW!
With OPEC cutting production and the dollar headed for a free fall, even these great gains could look like a drop in the bucket…
…as pension fund and mutual fund managers realign their holdings to improve their second-quarter performance and take advantage of record-low oil prices to position themselves for profit in the next three months.
That’s why, if you don’t act now—TODAY—and add my $1 oil services stock to your holdings, you’ll miss out on one of the biggest wealth-building opportunities of 2009, and you will kick yourself for years.
Act now.
Complete Action Plan Online NOW
In it, you’ll not only find a panoramic overview of the mammoth profit opportunities forming in the oil services sector…
…but also see why this $1 oil services stock is on track to hand investors money-doubling profits in 2009 as oil supplies tighten, the dollar continues to fall and demand inches up around the world.
That’s why, if you can act now—before the rest of Wall Street catches on—you’ll be able to lock in this moneymaker at a price you won’t see again for years.
Don’t get left behind.
At just $1 a share, a $5,000 investment here could quickly jump to $10,000 in days…and you’ll find acting now to be one of the smartest financial decisions you make in 2009.
My Half-Price Trial and Guarantee Make
You a Winner No Matter What
Look…
A year’s subscription to Quantum Growth regularly costs $5,000, and you have to sign up for a minimum of a full year.
Because the profit potential on this $1 oil services stock is so great, my publisher has allowed me to open the door for a limited number of 90-day trials for half our quarterly price—just $699—and with no long-term commitment and a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee.

After all, over the past 10 years, my Quantum Growth system not only has beaten the S&P 500 by $30-to-$1, but has delivered 1,600% returns, thanks to great trades like these:

Now, with triple-digit growth pushing the alpha rating on my $1 oil services stock through the roof, even these fast gains could look like chump change.
That’s why you can buy our newest recommendation with 100% confidence that it is poised to hand you money-doubling profits—my money-back trial guarantees just that.

The copy of the letter I read came from Doug Mathias
I know that TS has vacated his position in VOYT, but here is an interesting development that was buried in the company's latest 10Q.
On June 30, 2008, ADAPT4, LLC, a Florida limited liability company and Investors Life Insurance Corporation, a Turks and Caicos corporation, filed suit in the Circuit Court of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, in and for Brevard County, Florida against Edward C. Gerhardt and Voyant International Corporation, a Nevada corporation, alleging violation of the Florida Uniform Trade Secrets Act, §688.01, et seq., Florida Statutes, for misappropriation of trade secrets, which suit seeks permanent injunctive relief and damages against Voyant International Corporation, a Nevada corporation. Voyant denies any liability and intends to defend itself against this frivolous lawsuit

The link does go directly to the VOYT website's #wireless.
Voyant Wireless:
...Voyant is drawing on its intellectual property and expertise in the field of wireless technologies to produce novel, remotely configurable, broadband radios operating in the spectral region from 174 MHz to 1 GHz. Of particular interest are the recently-auctioned lower and upper 700 MHz bands, the soon-to-be-available white space spectrum (which represents over 200 MHz of valuable bandwidth in the VHF/UHF band), and the 900 MHz unlicensed bands. The first of Voyant’s next-generation radios will be a custom-designed white space radio (WSR) used for “green,” energy-efficient, utility and power management. This flexible WSR design can easily be adapted for a host of new, high-capacity, long-range and reliable wireless services, including so-called WiFi 2.0 applications....
MLD yha i am still here i heard Louis navallie rhad THOR?
Anyone still researching CW & TS? If so ...
I will post information on what appears to be a recent promo stock.
Good luck in your portfolio choices, MLD38
Are you Bagholders still holding VOYT @ 0.16 ? Toby ain't taking you to the promised land - but only himself.
In addition to many of his other bull market picks that went nowhere even at the best of times.
Singh, did you take your own advise of the stop loss - or do you only preach it?
I see even the Toby topic starter apears to have left the forum...
LOL
STP is about to become the biggest solar module producer in the world according to Tobin, he just raised the buy up to price. It is my favorite solar play, I wonder when will it take off with so many good news it has already given.

Doing a word search, I found a copy of C/W's April 14, 2008, weekly update to subscribers that mentions the locked up shares that was not included in Tobin Smith's MoneyShow commentary.

...Additionally, the lock-up period for Orion's IPO shares ends on June 16, 2008, so there is no need to get overly aggressive when buying the stock. Thanks for the compliment. I hope the information helps in your research.
As far as the incognitus comments, I do not know the reason behind the comments or if incognitus and/or the thinkfn.com site are still active.
I did look at your message board Cornell/Yorkville and it is interesting. Good luck with the message board, also.
MLD38, interesting stuff, thanks ....
.... I'll go through it.
I see you and I both have MOBL as a TS reco, and with the SMTR, NEOM & TREN I had already, TRNP makes an interesting addition , to say the least.
I'll definitely do some looking into THAT one , good ol' Tim Conno-lie , I mean Connolly lol.
Tim has been involved with a few Yorkville clients as you might have seen in my Table A , AOTL.PK IVOI.OB NTNI.OB NXNO.PK PWTC.PK and of course TRNP.OB.
I will DEFINITELY be looking into connections between Tim and Tobin lol.
Thank you VERY much MLD38.

*** Incognitus, 2007-08-13: "Tobin Smith's dark side"
(NOTE: I do NOT see any current items on the website, ie all appear to be out of date material, but I might have missed them.)

You might also want to contact the individual who wrote this to make sure it is still the author's opinion or to see if the author has legal confirmation regarding the statements issued in this ThinkFN comment by Incognitus, 2007-08-13 (it appears this website is not in USA, ie messages in Portuguese, but I did select English )
On the About Us webpage: Why do we use nicknames ?
....Many times, we will be touching hot subjects in our articles. Even criminal subjects. Since the authors work in the industry, by divulging these subjects they could bring harm to themselves. Hence the use of nicknames....
Who here is most familiar with ....
.... Tobin Smith's possible recommendations (past and present) within the OTCBB universe of stocks?
For quite a while now I've been doing research on and analysis of the changing fortunes of clients of toxic financier Yorkville f/k/a Cornell.
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=9964
In the course of that research/analysis I have run across some cozy 'networks' of companies + company executives + stock promoters (e.g., Tobin) + Yorkville + Yorkville 'agents'. (See graphic below as an example of the complex web within just one of these networks)
Within just the one network below I found no less than FOUR companies who are not only Yorkville clients but are or were Tobin Smith recommendations.
So, two questions:
- Does anyone here know of other Tobin reco's who happen to be Yorkville f/k/a Cornell clients?
- For any interested, would you please take a look at Table A in the iBox of the board I linked to above and tell me if you see any additional Tobin Smith reco's on that list of around 112 stocks/symbols? That list represents about half of the Yorkville clients we've been able to identify so far.
Thanks for any input! -jonesie

Tech Alert: Web Explosion
(WaveWire has graph with this commentary)
...."The use of streaming video over the Web has more than doubled in the past year, and the popularity of sites like YouTube and Facebook show no signs of slowing. Similarly, file-sharing software has led to an explosion in the amount of large files transmitted over the Internet.
Internet service providers (ISPs) and networking companies have struggled to keep pace -- and a recent ChangeWave survey of professionals in the computer networking industry suggests that far more rapid growth lies ahead.
For example, 26% of respondents said the delivery of streaming video has significantly increased the demand for networking technology and products, while 38% said it's caused a moderate demand increase."...
(graph appears here)
..."In response to escalating pressures, some ISPs have resorted to questionable tactics to curb file sharing and video streaming.
Comcast (CMCSA) recently admitted it had blocked file-sharing technologies from San Francisco's BitTorrent and others, because the company felt they were using too much bandwidth. In an abrupt about-face, it now says it'll work with BitTorrent to find better ways to transmit files over the Internet.
Who wins big from the scramble to modernize an outdated Internet backbone? Cisco Systems (CSCO), of course, along with the big fiber carriers like Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-Verse.
Who loses? ISPs with outdated networks and inadequate bandwidth that are unable to keep up with explosive demand."...
Centerplate (CVP) : Shares Drop
Loss of Yankee Stadium Contract, also said it may have to stop paying dividends as early as June
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080403/centerplate_second_look.html?.v=1
NEW YORK (AP) -- Centerplate Inc., a convention center and ballpark caterer and manager, struck out with investors on Thursday after the company said it will not get a contract with the new Yankee Stadium in New York.
Shares dropped 38 cents, or 8.6 percent, to $4.05 in midday trading.
The slide followed a big drop Wednesday when Centerplate said it may have to stop paying dividends as early as June if it does not obtain an amendment to its credit facility.
That news led shares to fall to an all-time low of $3.50.
After the market closed, Centerplate said it was informed by the New York Yankees that it won't be the concessionaire for the new stadium, set to open in 2009. The company's current contract with the team that covers the existing stadium runs through Dec. 31.
Centerplate said if it does not obtain any new business to offset the loss of that contract in 2009, it will have a "material adverse effect" on its adjusted earnings.

I do NOT subscribe, but I did a symbol search ( see the titles below), since one of C/W's recent promos discussed the company (without naming it). Here is what the promo said : ..."A leading provider of food and related services this company has just signed a huge contract with one of the largest convention centers in the country. Current yield, 13.1%. "...

If Tobin was smart he'd add WNBD for a Eco (Green) play before it's not a micro anymore. His batting avg is horrible and should add companies that show continued execution of their business plan with sound DD. IMHO

02/19/08, LSCG.OB : Philips filed patent civil lawsuit against Lighting Science Group; LED Holdings; and LED Effects
Form 8-K for LIGHTING SCIENCE GROUP CORP
29-Feb-2008
Other Events
Item 8.01. Other Events
http://biz.yahoo.com/e/080229/lscg.ob8-k.html
On February 19, 2008, Philips Solid-State Lighting Solutions, Inc. ("Philips") filed (but has not served) a civil lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts against
(i) Lighting Science Group Corporation (the "Company");
(ii) LED Holdings, LLC ("LED Holdings"); and
(iii) LED Effects, Inc., an entity whose assets were acquired by LED Holdings ("LED Effects")
(Philips Solid-State Lighting Solutions, Inc. v. Lighting Science Group Corporation, et al.).
The lawsuit alleges that the defendants have infringed five (5) related patents.
The complaint does not name any product that is alleged to infringe and provides no specific facts in support of the claims of infringement. The lawsuit seeks injunctive relief and unspecified compensatory and treble damages and attorneys' fees for the alleged patent infringement.
The subject patents are owned in the name of Color Kinetics, Inc. ("CK"), which was acquired by Philips in August 2007.
The Company is reviewing Philips' allegations, but believes they are without merit and intends to dispute them in light of, among other things, the following:
• Since 1994, LED Effects has been designing, developing and selling custom-designed, pulse-with-modulation (PWM) controlled, color-changing LED fixtures and components. As successor to the assets of LED Effects, the Company believes it is (and LED Effects has been since its inception) considered a leader in this fixture and component space, and it continues to develop and sell cutting-edge LED-based products today.
• Prior to Phillips' acquisition of CK, a Philips affiliate conducted extensive due diligence relating to the intellectual property of LED Effects. The Philips affiliate subsequently (i) proposed and consummated a joint development agreement with LED Effects and (ii) proposed a minority investment in LED Effects.
• The Philips affiliate previously contracted with LED Effects to develop and manufacture products in accordance with the Philips affiliate's specifications and using LED Effects' proprietary technology. The Philips affiliate then used such products to compete successfully against CK before CK was subsequently acquired by Philips.
• Since the CK acquisition, Philips has continued to purchase and distribute linear products employing the technology of LED Effects, as indicated on Philips' web site. (www.nam.lighting.philips.com/us/luminaires/products.php).
