NASH news for BLRX
Pre-clinical results obtained in animal models of liver impairment suggest that BL-1220 has strong hepato-protective effects. Collectively, the data demonstrate that BL-1220 is able to restore liver function. This technology could be directed toward rapid regeneration of normal liver in both acute and chronic conditions of liver injury.
Philip Serlin, Chief Financial and Operating Officer of BioLineRx, said, "In August this year, we in-licensed the first compound under our multi-year strategic partnership with Novartis, a novel drug candidate for controlling liver fibrosis through modulation of the immune system. Today, we are pleased to announce the second compound under the Novartis collaboration, also for the treatment of liver pathologies. Both of these projects fit our strategic focus on the immunology space. We continue to work closely with Novartis to identify cutting-edge, novel therapies and we expect to bring additional promising projects to the collaboration by the end of the year."

could be glta, all I know is the CEO of Allergan is one smart guy and he's not just throwing that kind of money at a company on a whim.
This was the BEST ever short, will cover at 31-32 when euphoria fades and the questions pop up
It might go down and you make a buck or it can still go higher. This in no way is a P&D. The company is being bought out by Allergan for about $1.7 billion.
Allergan's offer on Tuesday of $28.35 upfront per Tobira share is a whopping 500 percent premium to the stock's close on Monday, which had given Tobira a market capitalization of about $89 million. Tobira shareholders could receive up to $49.84 per share, contingent on the company achieving certain milestones.

AGN CC slides on TBRA acquisition:

No doubt! Congrats shareholders! What a move!!!
Honestly, looking at the chart, most would not have bought this including myself. It was the data that stood out to be its uprising
Based on the price, 21.5% chance the milestone payment occurs. $28.25/cash plus $49.84 milestone. $39 current price is $10.75 over the cash buyout, about 1/5 of the milestone, = 21.5% chance priced in right now.
10.75/49.84=.215
Or, you can look at it like $10.75 of milestone payments is being priced in.
VTAE seems to be holding after being bought by AGN.
TBRA gonna follow the same route?
Fantastic buyout!! Congrats to all who were in this!! TBRA WOOHOO!!
Nice work BULLRIDER!! Congrats on TBRA!!
Tim
So, just saw a similar move with SRPT Sarepta Therapeutics on FDA approval of a muscular dystrophy drug and it traded higher the next day after a big move.
Is this typical of these types of stocks?
Sorry for all these questions but these biotech/pharma stocks are creeping into my radar...
$TBRA super buy out deal here
Highest premium ever for a biotech buyout—and that doesn't even include the CVR:

Absolutely insane!
Hi Popeye,
Once I get up and running for a while I am considering changing to TD as they have a better platform for active traders than what I am using now.
I usually watch a stock or chart for a while for entry points and today was just a knee jerk reaction based soley on the statement that the Bloomberg talking heads said today...total rookie move and I am a rookie.
I've got a lot to learn as far as using L2 goes but I do use it for my Canadian trades so it would be really useful when I make a US trade.
I guess I'm looking to the future closing price of this deal for my exit point so I guess I'll put up with some pain unless this puppy goes to like 45-46 today.
Yeah, I see biotech/pharma in my peripheral vision everyday and usually ignore it but I couldn't resist taking a nibble today. I jumped in the deep end with both feet!!! LOL
I haven't lost a trade yet in my short swing trading career and I don't want this to be the first!
Can you get TD Ameritrade in Canada? If so you can sign up without funding and you can see L2 from there but if you're long than won't matter as much but you do want to see support levels for entry and exit points. Welcome to Biotech. It's a wild ride. Lose big win big and lots of fun!!! GL
Thanks for the reply BullishSwag, but I don't have L2 for US stocks. I'm Canadian and my trading platform is not very sophisticated and the only L2 I see anywhere is 15 mins delayed from sites like this.
This was a total emotional trade...a rooking mistake, but I was listening to Bloomberg this morning and they said that this should go up to about 1500% once the deal is closed.
I know that takes time and I was wondering how this plays out in the meantime as I don't follow pharma stocks at all and I didn't have any time at all to do any DD on this company at all as I was chasing this trade this morning.
I see the results quite often of what just happened today and of course by the time you see that trade it's way too late to get in, but this one seems to have another leg to go and that's why I got in.
I see what you mean by "sweeping people out" as that seems to be what is happening as I type, that's normal and I see that in other trades that I make.
I'm not a daytrader so I will be holding on to this one for a while, I guess...this is a real learning experience!
It's best to watch level 2 to figure that out. There is big time support at 39$ right now. The pros are simple sweeping people out before the next push north imo. GL
Hi Everybody,
My first pharma stock. I said I'd never get in these because they are too scary. Did I make a mistake here?
This one looks like it has long time upside based on the deal.
For those who have played these before, based on the deal, what happens next? Does this drop like a rock or will it hold?
Just curious and thanks for any real advice.
Cheers,
Jag
