Bad Request (Invalid URL)
Is anyone having trouble with the link to this board...
http://investorshub.advfn.com/MMJ-~-Medical-Marijuana(Tetrahydrocannabinol)-~-Company-Stock%0D%0ADiscussion-Board-16679/
Or is it just on my end?
What's worse....
The poster that only posts about the stock
OR
A poster that spends their time worrying about other posters
Am I the only one having trouble accessing boards that quote futures?
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/boards.aspx?cat_id=150
Is there a work around for whatever new code is going on here?
Most of these have bad ticker fields.

Will it eventually work if given time?
If you're searching for such common things as To Da Moon or Gooo xxxx, you'll be gumming your pre-chewed food at the senior assisted living complex before any results are returned.
Ihub doesn't have Cray computers as servers.
Unless they got a auction deal.
Totally agree, I think that was my intent. But I also think that IHub Admin should review post that have removed and also revise the content of the post which lead to that post. I had a post removed, asked for a review and asked the Admn to look at the post I was replying to. Nothing happened. That post still there, I reported it directly under a TOU and the post was removed. Nothing personal against the poster but why would he (or she) be allowed to post in such a manner that when I reply to the post with the same content, my post was removed. It just happened that the poster is against the stock and I'm (sort of) for it. Is it a coincidence?
I think a MOD's job is to manage the board and keep a well balance either way. IHub can't simply have 1,000+ Admin to keep up with what's posted on all the boards. MOD should stress in keeping the board's policy and counter-attack is the word is proper, those posting personal attacks against other posters, either pro or con with the particular stock. On this particular board I keep been banned and posts removed, the MOD allows other posters with similar wording posted when it's against the company and removes all those post he can get a hand of it when it's for the company. That should not be allowed, IMO.
Yes and no. On occasion, there are people who have felt they were burned by an investment decision and have a personal vendetta. In this case, someone might become a mod simply to implement their vendetta against Company X.
Some mods might abuse their power to bash the stock in an effort to drive down the share price and accumulate more shares. These people have too high an opinion of themselves as I've never seen a significant correlation between what's said on the boards and the share price.
Other mods, like myself, are often mistaken for representing the opposite of the poster's opinion. This is because these mods see all sides of the equation and present the the evidence for/against an argument in their responses, playing devil's advocate encouraging a diverse debate. I've been called both a pumper and a basher by posters on my board in the same day.
The important thing is that the mod in question is balanced in their presentation of the evidence. If the evidence is largely against a stock, the mod might be perceived as a "basher". If the evidence is largely positive, the mod might be seen as a "pumper". IMO, however, pumpers and bashers share one thing in common ... both provide posts of little substance, logic, or evidence.
A negative post with logic and evidence is not a "bash", imo - it is informed dissent. A positive post with logic and evidence is not a "pump" - it is informed endorsement.
I like this idea in spirit, but the implementation leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps the Admins don't understand that moderating a board is a lot like moderating iHub. Would the Admins be so cavalier about this new policy if it meant anyone could become an Admin? When you have the answer to that question, you'll understand why the established mods have such a big problem with this new mod policy. If the goal was to increase the signal/noise ratio, the Admins did a lot to increase the noise while only moderately improving the signal.
Case in point, my board. After implementing this policy, two new mods have been added to my board. One of the new mods has been a pest since day 1 and doesn't seem to have a strong command of the English language. No one likes this guy, I field complaints about him daily, I'd be astonished if the Admins have received no objections about his being added as a mod from posters on my board, and the only reason he hasn't had any violations is not because he contributes to the discussion but because I prefer not to run my board like a fascist state. In that sense, I only use my privileges as mod to address egregious violations and listen to my fellow posters when making such decisions. I encourage dissent and welcome new asst mod applications.
The other mod just wanted to "test" the system, I assume because he didn't believe me that I didn't add that other mod. Now he wants to be removed as a mod, but I can't remove him. In this example, the Admins only created more work for themselves with a frivolous mod addition.
The Admins want to increase the signal/noise ratio on their boards and selecting new mods is one way to do it. There is no doubt that some mods run their boards like fascists, which can drown out dissent - dissent being something I have mentioned on my board numerous times as being crucial to smart investing. However, adding new mods willy-nilly, without adequate examination, only leads to anarchy, confusion, and makes iHub a less enjoyable place for investors to congregate and share their knowledge.
I would propose that iHub strike a balance between the power sharing of the new mod policy and adequate examination by posters on the board. Why not take it to a vote? When someone applies to mod a new board, post a poll in the stickies which will be in place for one week. All the posters on the board could then vote on whether they would like the applicant to be a mod. This amendment to the new policy would allow Admins to make a more informed decision as to whether they should add a new mod to a board. In this manner, mods couldn't complain if a mod applicant had popular support and iHub could still create more diversity on the boards.
Again, while some mods might run their boards like fascists, and the goal of adding new mods to foster diverse opinions is applaudable, the new mod addition policy ignores the experience of the mods/posters on the boards and creates the potential for anarchy. The new policy - as currently implemented - only creates more work for Admins and makes iHub less enjoyable for the posters, on my board at least. I would encourage the Admins to either reinstate the old policy or to strike some balance between the old and the new, a balance which will respect the opinions of the board mods/posters while allowing for the addition of new mods, even if a particular mod might object.
Gotcha.
Will it eventually work if given time?
Thanks again.
Try to avoid using search terms that will be found in thousands of posts.
GM, Meatloaf.
I'm having trouble searching a members posts from 2009 and 2010 - enter the search and it just spins and spins and spins.
Is this a known problem or do I have to walk away for a few hours to get results?
Thanks for any help.
What I find hilarious... well actually stupid, are these never ending battles between the pumper and the trasher on boards. They go on forever, you could come back in 6 months and nothing has changed. The same few handles filling up the board with the same jibberish.
How do I delete an IMAGE that ...
I have up-loaded to my iHub IMAGE GALLERY ... ???
I know how to HIDE the image, but what if I want to
completely delete the image to make room for
future images ... ???
If he is.. get me off... ! don't want anything to do with that SOB.
God is a Moderator.

Money is God and God is money.... nothing else matters.. IMHO
Just accept the fact that not everyone is fixated on money.
Kind of like in poker. If you want to take the table you dump some good hands on purpose.

I see your point and respect it but, I can't understand why would anyone waste their time and effort on something isn't worth it, maybe because I don't believe "guardian angels" exist... I still think you have to have some sort of brain disfunction to do that...! IMO...
I for one don't want to see only positive posts about a stock, especially when I know the truth about the stock is not so positive. I'm glad Ihub board allow opposing views. It's up to each individual to take what they see and find what is true and false. It drives me crazy seeing some scam of a stock with nothing but positive pumping posts and people blaming every downtick on the "market makers holding it back", "evil shorts", and other BS.
A moderator with an negative view will at least keep a balance and has the option to delete "positive" posts that violate the TOS that would otherwise be allowed to remain and possibly mislead inexperienced investors.
some people care a lot about ihub.
I have a simple question... why would anyone take his/her time to moderate a board of a stock he/she feels is a POS... is there some sort of a psycho personality there? wasting time and effort for nothing?
Search to see the one you want isn't taken and then PM admin.
go to that post, hit the "report tos violation " button and in the comment section write "author request".
can i remove an entire post that i had made or do i have to go through a mod. thanks
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE...link for complete list
2012-91
Washington, D.C., May 14, 2012 — The Securities and Exchange Commission today suspended trading in the securities of 379 dormant companies before they could be hijacked by fraudsters and used to harm investors through reverse mergers or pump-and-dump schemes. The trading suspension marks the most companies ever suspended in a single day by the agency as it ramps up its crackdown against fraud involving microcap shell companies that are dormant and delinquent in their public disclosures.
