how do download a midi
look at the source code of the page it's on. Then copy the url of the midi e.g. http://www.realriders.com/cards/lovergirl.mid put that in your go to line, hit enter, then your computer should prompt you to save the file. Click save and just remember where you put it.

If I can ask a dumb question how do I down load the songs at the biker site? I'm very new and green. Last night I ran a cable from my PC to the keyboard and got some demo to play.
Now I guess I need material - I happened to also stumble on this thread today - how ironic!
Thanks!

I placed your Juke Box in the thread header. Let me know if you object to this and I will remove it.

Note the Juke Box has an html file extension so it cannot be made to play on the open thread.

just post link to juke box
It will pop up as new window anyway and you can carry it around with you while you surf. You can minimize it if you don't want the full window, just pull it up to change songs.
Yes, aol has a great lock on people. It is the biggest isp I think because of the way it locks people in. AOL users drag their friends in so they can all chat in the same clubs and see the same content and share links. I use aol, earthlink and a cable account. I need aol to see what most of my clients are looking at. Things look different in aol. It is easy for newbies though though the browser itself is not too good at all. That's why I do major surfing through my independent browsers. aol is also also.

You can't embed java scrip on the IHUB threads. A linked midi has to come from a main page with the .com extension based on what I have tried. I think it has something to do with IHUB's .asp coding.
Java as you posted makes for a memory friendly way to place a lot in one link. Unfortunately I need a <mainpage.com/song.mid>
format.
Re: AOL
AOL has a way of "making" a user go to its own entities and in this sense is not very user friendly IMO. I use to trade the stock extensively and therefore I did heavy research on the company and it's way of doing business.
This control over a user's surfing is why AOL is one of a few Internet stocks which is profitable and will remain that way for a long time IMO.

I can't hear that midi in aol 5
or ie 5.5 or netscape 4.6 embedded. Obviously I need to check my system here. Perhaps that is why I lock up on SI trying to view sir auric's profile in aol. I copy/pasted the midi source link and heard it fine. I can hear my own jukebox fine as well. I will get to the bottom of this and try to figure a way to embed a jukebox. If you look at the page pulling the jukebox, it's just a link that they click to automatically open a popup window. You need the javascript for the pop up window in the head though.
Here is the script for the header though maybe matt has something in there for popup ads in the future.
<SCRIPT>
<!--
function openScript(url, width, height) {
var Win = window.open(url,"openScript",'width=' + width + ',height=' + height + ',resizable=0,scrollbars=yes,menubar=no,status=no' );
}
//-->
</SCRIPT>
And the actual link with window size so it stays small. You could just do a full page jukebox then you don't need the javascript. Just click this link for full page jukebox.
http://www.realriders.com/jukebox/minijuke.html
<a href="javascript:openScript('http://www.realriders.com/jukebox/minijuke.html',200,100)">
<img border="0" src="images/jerkbox.jpg" width="75" height="60" a href="javascript:openScript('http://www.realriders.com/jukebox/minijuke.html',200,100)" align="left"><font face="Arial Narrow">Click<br>
for music</font>

I embedded a midi on the corner bar thread. (let the midi load from this link)
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=413
A juke box link that is several songs long with an extension of .mid as the main link would be nice.
Reid
You want me to do what?
Let me know what you want to do and maybe I can figure it out. I made that jukebox two years ago so it's real outdated. I was gonna make a Flash midi jukebox to go with an mp3 one I made but most people with flash don't want midi anymore even though I like them because the file sizes are so small.

That would be nice if the juke box could be embedded.
Maybe I can figure out a way.

A midi jukebox
Here's one I made for a client as he kept insisting on having music on the page but I wanted to make it an option because it slows things down so much. Click the jukebox top left. It's just biker and car music.

There are already great midi search engines. http://aolsearch.aol.com/dirsearch.adp?knf=1&query=midi%20search%20engine

Sure!
How about a little Supertramp? Perhaps something from Crime of the Century?
I have one on my HD but don't have it anywhere on the web.

We can do search engines.
I would like to use this thread to help IHUB create a "resource" for the people who post content but would like to "deco" their thread ect. You fit that category.
Would you like any back ground music here?
We need feed back from Matt.
Reid
