Oh, I did the good deed of the day. I was at LIDL and there were a couple immigrants from Cameroon or Ivory Coast judging by the accents.

Anyway, LIDL does this thing, they put out 40 pounds of fruit and vegetables into various cases of 40 pounds and sell them for 1 euro. Stuff that is about to go rotten.

So, the guy in front of me is paying for his 8 euros of purchases with nickles, dimes, quarters and I told him to take that, in the corner, there was a 1 euro case left over.

He didn't believe me that he could have all that for 1 euro, the cashier confirmed.

He was happier than a pig in shit....

I called up an insurance company that I've been paying 10 bucks a month for years. As I understood it, it paid out in case of an accident or incapacity 10pct.

And, no, they pay out something if you have an accident, there are witnesses, the doctor confirms and 10pct of your body is rendered useless.

Back in the day, when I was trading for reelz, I learned to use under-the-radar type of business activities to evaluate what I considered the real condition of the economy. Being from Michigan, back in the 70's through the 90's I had friends who worked in automotive related industries (as well as the actual auto makers). Working in medicine, I had access to to all sorts of information such as equipment makers GE, Siemens, etc,. or, pharmaceuticals not to mention the center for the latest insurance stats... The point is, regardless of whatever monthly or quarterly gubbimnet statistic was touted as a harbinger of the economy going forward, MY sources would show me direction or inclination long before those gubbiment factoids were released. I got first-hand knowledge of parts orders slowing down- pending lay-offs weeks in advance of announcements. In other words, I was able to see "trends" in several facets of the economy before the talking-heads started spouting off. I'm not talking about individual stocks, but my retirement/IRA money that was tied up in mutual funds mostly tied to indexes (as was the general rule at the time) . My advantage was in my timing of the market- especially the 90's. I did very well timing the indexes .. at least in my little cranny of the U.S.

My discretionary money stock-picking prowess, on the other hand, was not as fortunate... but that's another story...

So, being a pilot, that little diddy about the FedEx pilots that I received in an email from a pilot's newsletter reminded me that this was the type of information that I would've used a decade or two ago...😉

happens all the time . I Played a lot of them can never remember the 3 million for one r/s that was supposed to be followed by a similar f/s. Janice will remember. I had to log on via dial up internet at the remote resort I was at with my wife and young kids May long weekend. no idea on year. ON that one with symbol change my account showed a $4 Million values for almost a year. I have a printout of it somehwere. That one never worked out

Ive been lucky I tracked all my roundups but cannit even find that spreadsheet . Bu the big wins were on screwups GLKCE was a r/s and they didnt revers out the shares in peoples accounts. Stock sold down to either .0008 I bought 1 million shares but theoretically there was only 1.2 Million o/s. $800 turned in to about $60,000 ( I sold some at a dime so over a 100 bagger on some) when it was all said and done for me as I obviously sold along the way and then 2 others were good X date was screwed up by many I thinnk one was a double whammy - people sold after record date before X data so I bough stock way down with "due bills attached" I got divvy and made off great but right at same time the scam said they were going to be a pot stock early in that craze so another 100 bagger. maybe CBSI and there was athird one was 100 bagger on a screwup

Aris Mining Corporation (Aris Mining or the Company) (TSX: ARIS) (NYSE: ARMN) announces updated mineral resource estimates for its
Segovia Operations in Colombia effective September 30, 2023 (the "2023 MRE").
Aris Mining will file an updated technical report in support of the 2023 MRE within 45 days of this news release.

the Segovia Operations and a review of the geological interpretation and resource estimation methodology.
After assessing the findings of our reviews as well as our impressive mid-year drilling results (see News Release from August 16, 2023),
we decided to expedite the process of updating our mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates. Segovia has a history of expanding its
gold resources and this current estimate represents a leap forward.

it's just interesting a company can be allowed to put out information, whether it be SEC filing, or press release, causing people to buy their stock, then reneg on the terms after the reverse split happens (when it's too late to sell / recoup money). And they're allowed to just carry on.

American Oriental Bioengineering Inc (AOB) ---- 2014, they did a 1-501 reverse split, with a provision that anyone owning less than 501 shares pre-split, would be cashed out at 50 cents per share.

They never paid on 1 penny on the dollar. Nothing. No shares given back. Took all the money, and poof.

There was a reverse split in 2020, stock was PKDC (Parker Drilling) where they stated that :

DEF 14A November 25, 2019
It is our understanding that each share of Common Stock held by a stockholder of record that owns less than 100 shares of Common Stock immediately prior to the effective time of the Reverse Split (such stockholders, the “Cashed-Out Stockholders”) would be converted into the right to receive $30.00 in cash per share

The Reverse split happened in April. Then after the reverse split, they decided they would retroactively create an ex-date / payment date a month earlier, on March 19 I think.

my brokers even thought the $30 should be paid out, because they changed the value of the pre-split 99 shares to $30 per share each. Then the value eventually went *poof*

• Amid strong upward movement, gold targets a breakout above the trend high, setting the stage for a possible new record monthly close in November.

Gold broke out of yesterday’s inside day today on a rise above 1,991.
It subsequently reached a three-day high of 2,004.
A daily close above 1,991 will confirm the inside day breakout and a close above the three-day high of 1,984 shows further strength.
Further, for the short term, a daily close above the middle of today’s range around 1,994 will show greater strength than a close below that level.

Collective Audience Issues Shares to Logiq for Special Dividend Distribution of Shares

NEW YORK, Nov. 06, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Collective Audience, Inc. (Nasdaq: CAUD), a leading provider of digital consumer acquisition solutions, announced it has issued 3,762,000 of its common stock to Logiq, Inc. (OTCQX: LGIQ) in connection with the business combination involving Logiq’s now former subsidiary, DLQ, Inc., and Abri SPAC I, Inc. (Abri). The newly combined company was renamed Collective Audience, Inc.

Abri, which as previously traded on Nasdaq as ASPA, ASPAW and ASPAU, announced the completion of the business combination on November 2, 2023. On the same day, Logiq declared a special dividend distribution of the 3,762,000 shares of Collective Audience common stock to Logiq stockholders of record as of the dividend record date (October 24, 2023). The dividend will be distributed at a ratio of 0.027 shares of Collective Audience common stock per each one share of Logiq common stock.

Logiq reports that the dividend distribution process has begun, but no dividend of Collective Audience common stock has been issued or delivered to Logiq shareholders as of today’s date. Logiq has indicated that the actual delivery date and receipt of the dividend by shareholders may be delayed in some instances due to administrative factors and timing may vary depending upon the number of Logiq shares held on the record date, where they were being held, as well as other factors.

Important Caution to Stockholders Who Believe They Have Already Received the Shares
Logiq announced that it has received reports that certain brokerage firms have prematurely or erroneously credited their client's accounts with the dividend distribution of the Collective Audience shares. Further, some of these firms have facilitated the sale of the shares without having the actual shares in their possession, to the potential detriment of all shareholders including those at other brokerage firms who are adhering to well established regulatory policies and procedures.

Logiq expects any such sales of Collective Audience shares could result in a failure to deliver upon the trade settlement date. Logiq states it is investigating the matter and that it plans to pursue all corrective measures and remedies, legal or otherwise, as appropriate.

To be clear, according to Logiq, no dividend shares have yet been delivered to any holders of record of Logiq that are entitled to receive such dividend distribution of shares as described in Logiq’s filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
