The Alamo Remember the Alamo http://www.Texian.com This board is for discussions very specific to the content of the Texian.com web site, where "The Alamo" is included. Hopefully the man behind Texian.com will register with iHub and become the central point for where discussions start, and follow into. I gotmilk(Doug) will do a Sheriff type role to protect this board's intent and get inbetween posters with appearances of two rowdy cowpokes of the wild west as they gamble and drink in a saloon, with the occasional walk up the stairs with a lady wearing too much makeup as done in the early Gun Smoke t.v. series with Sheriff Matt. Let the Gun Smoke reference identify the rules & regulations this board will follow: - no foul or lewd words permitted - no references to foul or lewd acts permitted - no use of innocent letter combinations like POS Bottom line, suitable for t.v. broadcast in 1952. Spamming of the same counter arguments between two posters that disrupt the board, having that "take over" the discussion for readers will be monitored using Duck Test. The man behind Texian.com will NOT assume moderator or Assistant status on this board, only gotmilk Rules. Unless Sheriff Matt and/or BobZ wants an Assistance'ship :o) History Channel http://www.historychannel.com March 6, 1836: http://www.historychannel.com/global/listings/episode_detail.jsp?EAirId=10026851&hp=THC A massacre of Americans at the Mexican Army's hands made "Remember the Alamo" an immortal Texan battle cry. But is this history viewed through an American lens? With distance from the heat of battle, a Mexican version of the controversy emerges. What caused Jim Bowie and Davy Crockett to run from their pasts to become heroes in death? How did a struggle for independence become a race war? In this 2-hour investigation, we expose new evidence in this grand victory with a dark secret. The Alamo: Making History & Hollywood http://www.historychannel.com/global/listings/episode_detail.jsp?EAirId=10026848&hp=THC ... go behind the scenes ... witness how history and Hollywood each recreate the story of one of America's most recognizable battles --the siege of the Alamo, a converted Franciscan mission in San Antonio, by Mexican forces during the Texan war of independence. ... delve into the 1836 battle that would set the stage for countless songs, novels, poems, documentaries, and of course, movies.
