It is now working correctly , so disregard my "oh fart it aint workin'" email......
To others: It's viewable at http://www.investorshub.com/beta/Terms.asp
Or by clicking on the bottom bar...
FM
In regards to your having to scroll over to write...
How big of a screen are you on? And even better..what kind of resolution are you using?
I kind of like my big ole posting box...It's optimized for 800 x 600 resolution. Most input bang for the screen <smile>
I dont know bout the TJ thang. I am assuming around 4 pm EST
Quote feature - those things drive me nutz and look like turd monkeys to me...I don't think we'll add 'em...:(
FM
Haha, ad away my friend. I have a cable modem so it's no big deal to me. If you want, I can also check it with my AOL dial-up connection which I kept as a redundant line in case of a down cable server emergency.
"You know how no matter how little the post is, the box is always the same size (just on the one-two line posts), well, I'm trying ot make it where the box gets small too, where no scrolling is involved to review the replies to the message..You have noticed that at the bottom? I like those instead of having to click on "view replies" like the other sites do. I am really focusing on the "little" details to make the site more user-friendly."
Heck yeah I noticed that the replies are at the bottom of the posts and I think that is ingenious. That's something about Raging Bull that sometimes irritates me in that you have to click the "view replies button." The idea of making the box smaller is also a good one. Next you have to make this reply box smaller so I don't have to scroll from the left to the right and back when I'm typing my replies, lol. I'm sure that you'll have this thing ironed out in due time. It's really looking good so far, I have to say that much!
Hey, what time is the Tokyo Joe interview tomorrow? I don't want to miss it.
Oh, another feature you should add is a quote feature that quotes someones post so that you don't lose your train of thought when reading a reply. I think the Ultimate Bulletin Board script has it so maybe your designer can try to incorporate it here. Just a thought.
Have a good evening bro!
E-G
Yo! Ernie,
Yea, my mom was hooping and hollerin...I was downstairs watching JAG (cool TV show with a hot chick on it!) and she was like "Matty-Lou, I think your buddy is on TV" I caught the tail end of it..
Will be interested in watching TokyoJoe tommorow after noon.
BTW, I am going to ad 4 (four) ads to each site page tonight. See if you notice a speed difference. I am trying to keep the site just as fast and just as less cluttery as possible. I actually think I reduced the clutter by adding 4 more ads..Go figure! LOL
FM
P.S. I will be trying something new with how the messages are read over the next few days...You know how no matter how little the post is, the box is always the same size (just on the one-two line posts), well, I'm trying ot make it where the box gets small too, where no scrolling is involved to review the replies to the message..You have noticed that at the bottom? Hey Matty-Lou, your friend A@P was just on CNBC. The report was actually about internet message boards but he got more of the spotlight than anything. It mentioned eConnect, LOCK, etc. Tomorrow they are going to have an interview with TokyoJoe which should be hilarious. It's pretty funny that these message boards are getting such attention nowadays. Perhaps I'll see you on CNBC at some point. Just don't forget to send a shout-out to E-Green if you are! LMAO!
Anyway, theres blood on the streets but things will be okay soon enough. Don't let those slimy MM's let you second guess your position in ACCR because that's exactly what they want you to do.
Take care good buddy.

Hi SmileyJ!
I mean..Sexy Momma
How've ya been? I haven't heard from you in a while...
Glad you see you jumped in here to play around until we start really working our mojo
I think you will like the end result and find it far superior to RB, Yahoo, and the Fool...and we will eventually be tough competitor with SI (they are very very strong)
You are right. We are taking baby steps and I am paying very close attention to detail and various "viewing" specifics. I am doing this thang the right way and being very picky about it. YOu know me!
FM
Matt!!
Site looks great, is coming along with baby steps but you are doing it right. This Foxy Mama just got back from vacation and received your email, thank-you very much. Keep up the good work. Yes!! Blue looks great, is more a pale lilac purple on my machine but very easy on the eyes and Lord knows mine aren't getting any sharper. Can't wait to see this site unfold.
I wish the market would turn green soon. It's about to my longs!!! ay yi yi
This is weird. At school, on old computers, the background to the messages shows up as a light yellow/off white.
At home and work, it shows up as the light blue I wanted....
How many people are experiencing this light, ugly RB - looking yellow color?

SafeTPay Performs 1st International ATM-card Purchase Via Internet
Atlanta, GA. April 11, 2000: Internet start-up SafeTPay ( http://www.safetpay.net )
announced today that it's new "SafeTPay" service, which allows consumers to
purchase goods and services and pay bills over the Internet using existing
ATM-cards with PIN (Personal Identification Number), was successfully tested for
International use this weekend.
According to Harry Hargens, CEO of SafeTPay, ðential partners outside North
America wanted to verify SafeTPay's global capability. This weekend, a ential
partner on another continent used an ATM-card issued by a bank on that
continent, to purchase a T-shirt from our web site. This was a true on-line
debit transaction, performed with secure entry of the consumers PIN, from a
consumer's home on one continent, to an Internet merchant here in the USA. A
remarkable historic payment achievement!"
"The service also makes credit card transactions more secure", Hargens
continued. "In addition to lowering risk, SafeTPay reduces fees paid by
merchants, by moving consumers from key-entered transactions to secure
card-present transactions".
"This stration established SafeTPay as the new standard for secure
International eCommerce transactions", adds Gerry , VP of Sales & Marketing
for SafeTPay. "Internet merchants face significant risks with out-of-country
orders. By using SafeTPay, all merchants significantly reduce cost and risk,
for both B2C and B2B markets".
Consumers use a low-cost device attached to their PC, to safely perform these
transactions. Internet merchants are expected to deploy these devices to their
frequent customers, to lower risk and reduce cost.
"Various systems have been proposed for secure eCommerce", continues. "They
use a variety of devices and methods to reassure consumers, but do little to
simplify consumer choice and privacy and address the merchant's needs. Existing
systems simply protect consumers by holding merchants responsible for losses.
But with SafeTPay, everyone is protected. The consumer's data is heavily
encrypted before leaving their PC, and the encrypted data goes to a bank
processor without passing through the merchant's hands. Security methods used
by SafeTPay include and exceed standards followed for transmitting transactions
from ATM machines. SafeTPay has filed for a patent to protect this unique
process".
"We strongly encourage Internet merchants to start deploying SafeTPay now, in
order to have safer, lower-cost transactions for a significant portion of their
business this upcoming Christmas season".

You playa you!
Great job,

Thanks Anna!
What do you guys think of the colors so far?
Apprealing? Make you wanna puke?
I am trying to make reading easier on the eyes than the other sites. I struggle when I am laboring over millions of messages on a late research night reading the other sites. These colors seem to fit my vision better....
Thoughts?
As always, plenty of changes to tickle your pickle in the coming days...including next and previous!! I know it's killing me too.

Matt,
Things are coming along with the new site quite nicely. Can't wait for the whole thing. Anna

YO! Bernard:
I wasn't accusing you of anythiing.. <grin>
I knew you didn't do anything, it was just wierd that you told me about them and then all the sudden I get an email from them.
I am not worried about them at all. We are in two different leagues. It looks like they are after more of a "analyst content" feel, whereas, I am gearing more toward a "user-driven content" site that is very interactive.
We'll see. I love competition. It creates innovation, which creates wealth which Fatt Matt likes <smile>

I have no idea where the rumor comes from.. and in fact, I have never heard of it.
By the way, I have taken 3 weeks off from going into the pit, I wouldn't know any rumor outthere.
and be honest, I learnt about your site before I knew about the pit... and I believe... the hub and the pit are different sites... you're building your message board system from ground... and they use existing software...
The pit should have enough financial power to do anything they want, and I know the pit is a really BIG business, you'd probably can't see anything just from the site... and you still need angel investors... those who spread the rumor might be afraid that your site will go online before the pit for whatever reasons. You can tell the people from your old posts on SI about when did you have the plan on setting up the hub... those are the facts!
I think it's all about competition here... and the idea to innvovate.
Even though you'll use Digichat in your site... it doesn't mean you're copying them... and I knew you didn't even know about the pit and you've made a decision on using Digichat... I can be the witness...
Just work hard on the site, Matt!
After my "vacation" I would jump in both the hub and the pit to make full force posting and trading!

The space I am talking about is really un-noticable except to picky people like me
I won't even point you there. I see the underline space you are talking about now..good eye!
regarding advertising: you make a very good point. I like the idea of buttons. We might switch it over to that. We have a wide array of options there. But the banner/buttons will be there for people when they scroll down and see the Replies to a message...I ALWAYS read the replies to a message. So it is for those people...
You'll see some nice navigation changes made tonight with the next, previous buttons...
Haven't gotten the chat yet...BTW, who spread a rumor around that I was setting up a site similar to thestockpit.com ? I just got an email talking about it??!
MB
FM,
For the register... I mean maybe we can add more explanation about the case insensitive thingy... well, not so important though
Well... now i can see some problems here... I didn't see any of my post contains "_Bernard" as the poster... maybe I'm blind again.. please tell me which post is it...
The "space" I'm talking about is the text features part... the underline function, if you're replying my message, look at the text features below the textbox... you should see a space behind /u .
The color looks good to me.
The ad... I'm not sure about the banner at the bottom part of the page... I tend to only scroll enough to read everything I want... don't think the bottom banner could be as effective as the top banner... so you might want to put small buttons or text links below... you know.. more ads = more chances for others to click on it... better than just showing 1 banner.
Also, I noticed, when I'm replying your message now, the upper part, the "original message" text box is smaller than the reply message text box below... maybe you would like to extend the width for consistentcy or center the whole "original message" textbox... just a suggestion...
Yeah, I'm good at bashing, now if you pay me enough money, I'll bash a stock for ya! You'd better be quick, I'm a red hot basher out there, I got all the secret E-mail all day long!

Register: It seems to work nicely the way it is right now. We might change down the road.
You talking about that space up there next to the names? Post by: _Bernard ? I picked up on that last night....Gary and I are meeting tonight and will edit that out. ( i can't change the pages myself or he threatens to open a can of whoopass on my and my keyboard) <smile>
What do you think of:
Current colors
The 2nd ad under replies?
I ask, coz i know you are hard on sites...and thaz a good thang dude

For the register part... you might want to tell the newbies about the login name would not be case sensitive... for example, I'm glad that I use Bernard to register... however, what if I use bernard to register, all my post would be marked as bernard instead of my beloved Bernard even though I may like to use Bernard to login afterwards, right? hum.. it's getting too complicated LOL

oops... I used the wrong bracket.. due to my HTML writting habbit... I can see that by using [] instead of <> would be a better choice because user doesn't have to press the damn shift key... however, you might want to support <> as well, since it's a convention... just need to support it invisibily... damn I made mistake again coz' I didn't read the damn instruction
By the way, there is a "space" behind your underline function example... you might want to get rid of it.

Bernard

I login as bernard and post this message.

It's about to get active in here....
OK, For the 15 of you I have let in so far <G>, it's about to get active in a few days.
As soon as GMan adds the create-a-thread button, I wiill let others through the door. I will let the first 200 BETA testers take a gander at the site.
He will then begin adding more functionallity such as next, prev, etc. (we are both working full-time jobs, so it's a stretch, until the site gets up)
But next, I will add a Live! button....that will incorporate live chat features along with a place to hold various other "live" events...Watch over the next few days, hopefully this weekend!
FM
P.S. Thanks, though, to the 20 of you who got a jumpstart and started offering suggestions!
If we had our Management module in effect,
Your post would have lasted ... at the most.... 2 minutes..
Lucky you.

ROTFLOL, that website has a chatroom for Club Fatters!!!
