I write about cool and cutting edge stuff that helps my patients or me.
In this case...I was dealing with chronic posterior shoulder trigger point pain...bad enough to limit my overhead motion. I tried a bunch of things....this $50 wearable and disposable device worked.
I did a huge randomized totally blinded and totally unbiased trial with just me (N=1) as patient, clinician, and observer. I have gone with and without the device over a week now and no question my pain is gone with it. Have a look...may be worth investigating or trialing. This is not medical advice.... Case report: Following moderately painful ambulatory umbilical (n = 3) and inguinal (n = 2) hernia repair as well as bilateral breast surgery (n = 2), patients had taped over their surgical incision(s) 1 or 2 noninvasive, wearable, disposable, pulsed shortwave therapy devices (RecoveryRx, BioElectronics Corporation, Frederick, Maryland) which functioned continuously for 30 days. Average resting pain scores measured on the 0-10 numeric rating scale were a median of 0 during the entire treatment period. Six patients avoided opioid use entirely, while the remaining individual required only 5 mg of oxycodone during the first postoperative day.

The treatment method ranked first in this review was pulsed
shortwave therapy (PSWT), a low-power RF (MHz range)
transmitter operated adjacent to biological tissue at maximum
output (saturation) to modulate peripheral nerve activity.
ActiPatch is a very small wearable PSWT device that is FDA
approved for “adjunctive treatment of musculoskeletal pain”
[Anwar-Deen 2020]. It is low cost, low power, and boasts 97%
efficacy in reducing pain (85% over a 6-month period) [Staelin
2019]. The device can be secured to the body by physio tape and
the area causing pain is bounded by the device’s ring. The device
can be turned on and off, and the non-rechargeable battery is capable of 720 hours of operation
(one month continuous use). ActiPatch is sold OTC in local pharmacies for ~$30 [ActiPatch
2020].
