SPR and BA if this goes on for much longer it could spell serious trouble for the Spirit. I personally think this mess will continue to get worse and one day will come to a serious head. Even if they do get the plane approved again, who is going to want to buy them or fly in them. SPR has 90 737 fuselages in storage, Boeing has 400 planes in storage.
I'm glued to this trade and going broke trying to short it BA. I think I will try and stick to SPR for now until BA loses support.

Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, we fabricate Boeing 737, 747, 777 and the 787 composite and metallic wing components as well as control surfaces and floor beams for the 777. The work is done primarily in support of commercial aircraft and an extensive variety of military programs. The capabilities of our AeroStructures operation include advanced composite technology, manufacturing and assembly integration. From our base in Tulsa, we provide world-class structures and service, primarily for Boeing aircraft, for customers across the globe.
Prestwick and Samlesbury
Our European AeroStructures operations are based in Prestwick, Scotland, and Samlesbury, England. Large wing structures for the Boeing 767 and 777 and the Airbus A320 and A380 make up a significant portion of UK product, along with other packages produced for the Hawker Beechcraft 800XP Business Jet.
With the fixed leading edges for the 767 and 777 being made at our UK facilities, the Boeing product profile of our European operation perfectly complements that of our Tulsa unit.

Spirit is planning a manufacturing facility near Kuala Lumpur that is scheduled to open in early 2009. Spirit Aerosystems (Europe) Limited, the European division of Spirit Aerosystems, announced plans for the facility in November

Sedgwick County, which also pledged a $5 million forgivable loan, is expected to approve it in the near future.
Cessna says the project will require an investment of more than $750 million and result in the creation of 1,010 jobs.
Last week, the Wichita City Council voted to approve a $1.6 million cash incentive for Spirit AeroSystems Inc. to develop a project that will create about 700 jobs over the next five years.
Spirit plans to build a new 375,000-square-foot factory to accommodate the manufacturing and testing of the Columbus fuselage. And the company plans to hire 700 workers for that work as well as existing products and other programs.
The Kansas Department of Commerce has committed $14.5 million to the programs. Sedgwick County Commission also voted to approve $1.6 million in incentives for Spirit and a 10-year property tax abatement.
Spirit AeroSystems Selected to Design and Build Wing for New Gulfstream G250 Super Mid-Size Business Jet

In March, Spirit was awarded the design and manufacture of the wing for the all new Gulfstream G650."The G250 work package solidifies Spirit's role in the business jet market and is another step in our journey to diversify the business base," said Jeff Turner, Spirit President and CEO.Spirit has had a team working on the G250 wing concept and design for the past 21 months. Initial test components will be delivered later this year. The first flight of the G250 is scheduled for the second half of 2009, with customer deliveries planned for 2011.
The G250 features an all-new, advanced transonic wing design that has been optimized for high-speed cruise and improved takeoff performance. At maximum takeoff weight, the G250 can take off from a 5,000-foot runway. The G250 offers the largest cabin and longest range at the fastest speed in its class. It is capable of traveling 3,400 nautical miles at 0.80 Mach and has a maximum operating speed of 0.85 Mach. With an initial cruise altitude of 41,000 feet, the G250 can climb to a maximum altitude of 45,000 feet, where it can avoid air traffic congestion and adverse weather.
Spirit Signs Spare Parts Agreement With Southwest Airlines

(NYSE: SPR - News) and Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV - News) today announced the signing of a supply agreement whereby Spirit will supply thrust reverser, fuselage and wing components for Southwest's fleet of B737 aircraft. This multi-year contract will enable Southwest to obtain predictable and competitive pricing for all 737 parts in the Spirit catalog while ensuring availability for key parts and components."We are pleased to be growing our aftermarket business with such a highly regarded customer like Southwest Airlines," said Carolyn Harms, VP/GM for Spirit Aftermarket Customer Support. Spirit Aerosystems Inc. announced Tuesday that it has signed a support agreement with Continental Airlines for structural parts and components.The deal means Spirit (NYSE:SPR) will provide parts for Continental’s line of Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA) aircraft.In the release Spirit says the multiyear contract will enable Continental to have greater access to aircraft parts and more predictable pricing for those parts and any others it might need from Spirit.Continental operates a fleet of 370 Boeing airplanes, made up of the 737, 757, 767 and 777 models.
