Nice nice day.. SPIR rockin. lol nice profile
Part of a very large dutch group called Eternal Sun. Worldwide office out of the Netherlands but their US OFFICE is SPIRE SOLAR LLC, as pics show below. They were trading @ $1 with same share structure and daily avg volume then as now.
Last reported quarter financials had them bringing in revenues of $3,741,000 lol. Holy Krikey.
Very active per website. They go hand in hand with the activities of Eternal Sun. Visiting all kinds of solar conventions around the world, recently in Colorado.
Share Structure should be same as last reported. Per last 13g, OS is same to TA last figures.

Any thoughts on the financial reports, nobody expected revenues to be great, i really didn't know what to expect to be honest.
They are having the conference call on Friday after the market, does anybody know if that's a good or bad sign, wouldn't you want to announce it right before the market opens if it was good news? Just curious
Current shareholders aren't gonna sell below 1 dollar so as soon as we have buying pressure this pps is on it's way to 5 dollars
If we all look at the pps historically this is due for a jump up. They have no debt, and they have managed to make a profit in times where most solar companies are failing miserably. If you look at the last thirty years they have slowly grown the business without hurting shareholders majorly (minimal dilution, no crazy splits) and now they are essentially debt free and in a position to expand when the time is right. Solar energy will eventually boom, now is not the right time, but when it finally is the right time this stock pps will be much higher than it is now. This is a very safe investment longterm, in my opinion
This company is in great shape financially and is positioned very well if the solar sector ever becomes what it should be
Got in Today, I think it's a great longterm investment with the possibility of entering and exiting several times in between
I wanted to buy this at 4 dollars and decided to wait, now they are in better shape financially and down at 1 dollar. Any thoughts on why this is so low, I think the potential is huge here
Will Spire's move into India make any difference? With a billion people it seems like it has great potential, but I've heard it's really hard to do business there.
http://www.esolarenergynews.com/2011/08/spire-establishes-solar-branch-office.html
Anybody still watching this one? It's still one of my favorites with so much potential to go higher!
“We worked Mr. Bruno Topel, a solar pioneer of Heliodynamica in San Paulo,...
... many years ago and now we are pleased to be working with him again at Tecnometal,” said Roger G. Little, Chairman and CEO of Spire Corporation. “Brazil is quickly expanding its investments in green energy. We are pleased to provide this state-of-the-art production line to Tecnometal to allow them to capture an early market position in solar energy.”
early huh
:0
This is a winner, I'm really confused as to why there isn't more chat on here. I think once it starts going up it will go up fast and high. The companies past is scaring people because they have been around for a while without huge success, but no solar stocks have been overly successful, it's almost their time, especially with the oil spill the government is finally gonna realize that yes solar is expensive , but longterm it is one of the better solutions!
Any thoughts on the stone they just came out with?
Honestly the only reason this hasn't gone up substantially is because the market has been down this year and people are generally bearish in regards to the solar sector. When all of that changes this will be the first one to rebound!
I think solar energy is the way to go long term, yes it's not the best financially, but our environment needs us to go with solar eventually, why not get the ball rolling a little faster here
This is looking good and with everything going on with the oil sector right now I think solar stocks may see some big increases in the near future. I really like Spir because we have a low amount of shares and a tiny market cap, this allows for huge volatility, hence the chance of huge gains, especially when their revenues start going up significantly!
Anybody else here closely looking at SPIR. I know a lot of people are bearish on this sector, but when investors regain the confidence in this sector, this company is set up to do really well. I can't believe we're trading at such a low market cap, there is room for huge gains here.
It's going up and down for a long time now and staying low. One of these days a big investor will jump in and make this go to 20 bucks, there is a lot of potential here, especially if the solar industry gets going.
Big investors will be listening to the meeting and if they are impressed they may not waste much more time to invest in this winner
I hope investors realize how huge this news is, this is gonna be a leading company in a huge sector. solor will be the main source of energy eventually because it's a source we know we have for many years and they will find cheaper ways to use it.
I expect big things with this stock once the solar sector gets going again. The market cap is so small, plenty of room to go up
This stock jumps fairly quick because of low share totals.
Hang in there. This is my fouth time buying off the 3.9 low
That is the reason why there is low volume is that there hardly are any shares, which push this thing up and down fairly quickly.
One morning you will wake up and it will be pushing 6 dollars again.
Now that immigration is getting pushed off for the climate bill we might see some solar movement.
Unicor will represent a lot of revenue this year.
I'm surprised, too. The earnings weren't very positive and the CEO discussed mostly hopefuls in his discussion of the results, so improvement in the future isn't certain. I think at first signs of a trunaround, however, this will more than catch up. I'm looking into SOLR, a direct competitor but also more diversified along the supply chain, and found it is trading about 20 times SPIR's market cap. They've been virtually flat, as well, but their business is picking up according to their latest earnings webcast (they noted a "surge in demand"). It turns out, however, that their PV business is struggling somewhat (their revenues from this segment is about 10 times that of SPIR), so I think everyone is kind of waiting for demand to pick up.
Two Forms Filed Recently.
One was a Form 13-G/A, which is an admission that someone own's over 5% of the stock, and I would imagine that was the fund who bought up those 2.5 million shares a few weeks ago. Turns out it was Invesco. (I found it interesting because SPIR doesn't trade 2.5 mln shares in 6 months.)
And then their was a proxy statement form 14-E. To...
1.To fix the number of directors at eight and to elect seven directors to serve for one year, leaving one vacancy.
2.To ratify the selection of Caturano and Company, P.C. as the Company’s independent registered public accountants for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2010.
3.To transact such other business as may properly come before the Meeting.
I can't imagine that any of this would be the cause of the stock going down so hard. As of this writing, every single solar stock I can find is going vertical, and this is down 2% on less than 20K shares traded.
But what I don't get is why? Is has NEVER stayed under FIVE for longer than a few weeks. What the hell is going on?
This is Horrifying to Watch.
I bought in a couple of weeks ago @ 3.40, because it's never stayed under 4 for longer than a few weeks, before going back up to the $5 area. And I didn't sell when it went to 4.50 the day after they put out their 10-K, because the volume really wasn't there, and I thought it would go higher.
Now here we are 2 weeks later, the market's gone parabolic, virtually every single solar stock has gone completely vertical... and yet this thing is just drifting down on the lowest volume I've ever seen. It's crazy, is what it is.
If I were to put in a market order to sell my 15K shares, I would probably crash the thing back down to 3.40 on my own, is how light the volume is. So I'm stuck. Can't even sell.
I guess my question is - is their technology obsolete or something? Their photovoltaic technology? Because, other than their absurd gross margin (94%?!!) the company's doing really well - their revenue is up year after year, they have no debt, they continue to get Government contracts, etc. etc.
So does anyone have any thoughts on why the stock just keeps going down day after day?
My thoughts exactly. Once this moves it will easily double, great opportunity here.
Wow I've been looking at solar stocks for a full year and I can't believe i've been ignoring this one. I think big investors will soon notice this one. Well established company in a new relatively new and growing sector. The market cap is so small, the pps has no other way to go than up.
It's a cookin'
Wow, kind of blown up today.
I smell a deal!
