Market is looking ugly right now. I'm taking a few steps back right now and just watching
Not too late after all.
Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out
Crazy uptrend here. LUV and JBLU are in big bullish uptrends. Catch AAL though. A break and hold of $44 sends it to $48 in a flash..
Damn...I'm too late to the party
Agree media puts fear in investors in order to pick up cheap shares. When they upgrade LUV at the 52 high I would sell. Low oil for 2015 will mean huge profits for many quarters to come. It's pretty easy
Definitely go with JPM. MS never liked LUV. They're just out to try and scoop up some shares. Then they'll turn around and upgrade.
How is it even possible to decide which one is right? Ms says underweight and JPM says overweight. Bunch is BS.
MS underweight rating just reiterated last night. Crooks. Still $41 PT though. This one may be the laggard today.
Loaded today. A little late, but should be a great run into EOY.

Southwest Airlines Earnings Up, Helped by Lower Fuel Prices
Source: Dow Jones News
Southwest Airlines Co.'s earnings increased 31% in the June quarter, topping analysts' views, as the airline continued to benefit from lower fuel and operating costs.
Traffic during the quarter increased 7.9% and capacity rose 7%. The portion of seats filled, or load factor, increased 0.7 percentage points.
"Our second quarter 2015 operating unit revenue performance was impacted by challenging year-over-year comparisons, longer average stage length, higher average seats per trip, and a softer yield environment," said Chief Executive Gary C. Kelly.
The sharp drop in oil prices has been generally favorable to airlines. Though some airlines are less affected due to agreements called fuel hedges, Southwest is exposed to 80% of the fall in oil prices.
Fuel savings were nearly $500 million, which led to a 12% reduction in unit costs in the June quarter, the company said. Fuel costs were $2.02 per gallon, compared with $3.02 per gallon the year before. For the current quarter, the company expects fuel costs of $2.20, down from $2.94 in the year-ago period.
However, Southwest's revenue per available seat mile, a key measure of performance for the airline industry, fell 4.6% from a year earlier, driven mostly by a decline in passenger revenue yields.
Overall, Southwest reported a profit of $608 million, or 90 cents a share, up from $465 million, or 67 cents a share, a year earlier. Excluding certain items, earnings were $1.03 a share, up from 70 cents.
Revenue increased to to $5.11 billion from $5.01 billion a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had called for earnings of $1.02 a share on revenue of $5.14 billion.
Separately, Southwest said it plans to repurchase an additional $500 million of common stock under an accelerated share repurchase program soon. This would bring the total repurchases this year to nearly $1.2 billion.
Added to my position here with AAL fluff.

Will Airline Stocks Only Work In High Oil?
7/15/15, 9:40 AM
Morgan Stanley's Rajeev Lalwani analyzed airline stocks under the context of lower oil prices.
In the firm's Question of the Week, Lalwani asked: "What do you prefer (A) low oil, limited capacity discipline, and higher profits or (B) high oil, increased capacity discipline, and lower profits?" The investors that Morgan Stanley polled "overwhelmingly" supported scenario B, to the tune of 76 percent of respondents.
That response, the note said, did not catch Lalwani by surprise as the group has underperformed year-to-date in the low oil environment. However, unlike investors, Lalwani said that the firm believes that "the group can do well in an environment with low oil and limited discipline, though we need the carriers to restore our confidence."
That discipline is unlikely to come from the smaller carriers, the note suggested.
"We are not surprised to see elevated supply as airlines move to capitalize on the profit opportunity, particularly the smaller carriers," the note said.
However, the firm argued that the legacy carriers can be the ones to demonstrate discipline and balance supply and demand - expecting the Q2 earnings to result in domestic capacity cuts of 1-2 percent for H2.
Oil's decline created an environment where the airlines will "achieve record profitability and return significant capital to shareholders," which Morgan Stanley "finds supportive" of long-term share prices.
Amongst the airlines, JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ: JBLU) has been the standout, gaining more than 41 percent year-to-date. That performance is even more distinguishing when comparing against its peers - all down around 20 percent on the year. Southwest Airlines Co (NYSE: LUV) dipped 20 percent since the start of the year; American Airlines Group Inc (NASDAQ: AAL) lost 22 percent; and Spirit Airlines Incorporated (NASDAQ: SAVE) shed 22 percent.
There is no catalyst. Iran deal tanking oil and airlines falling right with it. Shit is stupid.
What will be the catalyst here today?
Took a starter position $33.93. Will double down on a dip to mid $33's if need be.
Yeah it's looking good. Lower oil should help us out in the coming months as well.
Market not doing good and $33 holding here indicating bottom. IMO
I'm looking forward to continuous positive earnings and the buyback at the end of the year. We just have to be patient.
Who knows? I thought we were the best airlines. I guess someone doesn't want this to go up.
What is the deal with this stock? Completely acts opposite of news and market forces.
It is a good buy. The downgrade was total BS. An easy way to manipulate the stock down. My guess bottom is here, don't see it going much lower.
At these prices I think it's a strong buy. I thought $34 was the basement but was wrong by a buck. 12 month target was adjusted again but it's still $16 above where it's trading now. Analysts rating on Fidelity have this rated at 8.7 bullish score. Am I missing something here? Seems like a good opportunity to load up.
They want this at $28-$30....
Lol, how much more they can downgrade this!!
Barclays downgrade this morning
It does. I'm surprised it took a turn. I bought another 500 shares - these are unreal prices.
Looking like a tough target at this point! :)
$37 end of month
Here we go! $36 support test again, this was the last area it bounced from, but there is a pretty solid downtrend to contend with.
Awesome day trade $36.64 15 mins before the spike. Lucky lucky lucky.
