Chariot CFO on $175M financing and 75MW solar project

Chariot Ltd (AIM:CHAR, OTC:OIGLF) chief financial officer Julian Maurice-Williams takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through two major announcements from the company's renewable division. The first announcement covers the financing closure of Etana Energy, Chariot’s electricity trading joint venture in South Africa. The financing totals $175 million, with backing from institutions like Norfund and Standard Bank, Africa's biggest bank. Maurice-Williams explained, “Etana is fully funded, and this strengthens its balance sheet, making it bankable and creditworthy.” The second update is a power purchase agreement for a 75-megawatt solar project in South Africa, with electricity to be traded through Etana. This project, set for construction in Q2, was enabled by the guarantee financing secured by Chariot. Maurice-Williams emphasised that these developments mark “two big steps forward for our renewable division towards first revenues.” Chariot expects further renewable projects to reach financial close soon, expanding both its trading and generation revenue streams. Leading Edge Materials to reapply for strategic project status as Norra Kärr development advances

Despite this outcome, Leading Edge Materials has continued to make significant progress at Norra Kärr. Since submitting its application in August 2024, the company has reached a key milestone by submitting a new application for an Exploitation Concession—a 25-year mining lease—and remains focused on exploring innovative pathways for early and sustainable production. Budge also shared updates on the company’s Rapid Development Plan, which is designed to accelerate the extraction process and shorten the timeline to production of heavy rare earth element (HREE) concentrate and nepheline syenite. A key aspect of this strategy is a phased development approach, starting with a small-scale operation to enable early deposit access, generate initial revenue from nepheline syenite sales, and stockpile HREE concentrate for future processing. This approach is intended to minimize both financial risk and environmental impact while establishing a strong foundation for long-term operations. Budge also discussed ongoing testwork on nepheline syenite and aegirine, which is focused on mineralogy, chemical composition, and leachate chemistry. These findings will be crucial in assessing market opportunities, including potential demand and pricing scenarios. AuKing Mining’s Orion deal: near-term gold production

AuKing Mining Ltd managing director Paul Williams talked with Kerry Stevenson at Proactive about the company's recent agreement with Orion Resources, focusing on gold assets in the Cloncurry region of Queensland.
