Currency Manipulation: Currency manipulation is the act of changing its value against other currencies instead of leaving it free to fluctuate based on market dynamics. This can be done by fixing the exchange rate or deliberately increasing or decreasing its value.
This practice is usually frowned upon since it results to an artificial distortion in currency prices. In fact, it is considered an illegal practice based on US laws and international agreements.
This could also give way to unfair trade advantages since artificially devaluing a country's currency could make its exports relatively cheaper and more attractive. In the long run, this could eventually result to a global trade imbalance

Pivot Points ~ Time Frames
Pivot Points for 1, 5, 10 and 15 minute charts use the prior day's high, low and close. In other words, Pivot Points for today's intraday charts would be based solely on yesterday's high, low and close. Once Pivot Points are set, they do not change and remain in play throughout the day.
Pivot Points for 30 and 60 minute charts use the prior week's high, low and close. These calculations are based on calendar weeks. Once the week starts, the Pivot Points for 30 and 60 minute charts remain fixed for the entire week. They do not change until the week ends and new Pivots can be calculated.
Pivot Points for daily charts use the prior month's data. Pivot Points for June 1st would be based on the high, low and close for May. They remain fixed the entire month of June. New Pivot Points would be calculated on the first trading day of July. These would be based on the high, low and close for June.
Pivot Points for weekly and monthly charts use the prior year's data.
Bullish Morning Doji Star
• Direction: Bullish
• Type: Reversal
• Reliability: Strong
• After an established down trending day-one is a long red day
• Day-two is a doji where the open and close are equal.
• Day-three is a blue day
Bullish Morning Doji Stars are a rare reversal pattern that offers one of the strongest bullish reversal signals in the Forex Market. Morning Star formations are characterized by a continuation of a bearish trend followed by a Doji, reflecting uncertainty in the strength of trend.
Up to day two we actually have a Doji Star formation, a moderate strength bullish pattern. After the day of indecision, the trend reversal is confirmed when a rally creates the large bullish candle. The stronger the move up on day-three, the stronger the reversal signal. Watch for additional bullish price action in the next few days.
In FX this formation practically identical to the bullish Abandoned baby. In non-FX markets candlestick analysts traditionally look for gaps to signal the strength of the Morning Doji Star pattern. Gaps between the close price and open price are very common outside efficient FX markets, since exchanges are traditionally limited to very short trading periods. Because Foreign Exchange trades 24 hours, gaps are very uncommon and need to be ignored in identifying Morning Star patterns.
SEC Filings Explained ~ Form 4
Form 4 is a United States SEC filing that relates to insider trading. Every director, officer or owner of more than ten percent of a class of equity securities registered under Section 12 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 must file with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission a statement of ownership regarding such security. The initial filing is on Form 3 and changes are reported on Form 4. The Annual Statement of beneficial ownership of securities is on Form 5. The forms contain information on the reporting person's relationship to the company and on purchases and sales of such equity securities.
Form 4 is stored in SEC's EDGAR database. EDGAR is Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis and Retrieval System. It is a registered trademark of the SEC.
A Form 4 must be filed before the end of the second business day following a change in ownership of securities or derivative securities (including the exercise or grant of stock options) for individuals subject to Section 16 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
THREE INSIDE DOWN (Bearish)
The Bearish Three Inside Down Pattern is another name for the Confirmed Bearish Harami Pattern. The third day confirms the bearish trend reversal.
Recognition Criteria:
1. Market is characterized by uptrend.
2. We see a Bearish Harami Pattern in the first two days.
3. We then see a black candlestick on the third day with a lower close than the second day.
Explanation:
The first two days of this three-day pattern is a Bearish Harami Pattern, and the third day confirms the reversal suggested by Bearish Harami Pattern since it is a black candlestick closing with a new low for the three days.
Important Factors:
The reliability of this pattern is very high, but still a confirmation in the form of a black candlestick with a lower close or a gap-down is suggested.
UPSIDE GAP TWO CROWS
The Bearish Upside Gap Two Crows Pattern is a three-candlestick pattern and it signals a top reversal. The first candlestick is a long white candlestick followed by a real body that gaps higher. Then another black real body appears, which opens above the second day’s open and closes under the second day’s close, completing the pattern
Recognition Criteria:
1. Market is characterized by uptrend.
2. We see a long white candlestick in the first day that signals the continuation of uptrend.
3. Then we see a black body with a gap up on second day.
4. The third day is characterized by another black candlestick having an opening above the first black day and also closing below the body of the first black day. The body of third day engulfs the body of the first day.
5. The close of the second black candlestick is still above the close of the first long white candlestick.
Explanation:
The market is in an uptrend and it displays a higher opening with a gap. However the new highs of the day cannot hold and the market forms a black candlestick. However the bulls still comfort themselves by the fact that the close on this black candlestick day is still above the prior day’s close. The third day however increases the bearish sentiment displaying another new high but failing to hold these highs until the close. Also the day closes below the prior day’s close, which is another bearish sign. . So the following question becomes relevant. If the market is so strong, why the new highs fail to hold and why market closes lower? The answer is clear. Market is not now as strong as the bulls would like to believe.
Commodity ETFs or ETCs
Commodity ETFs (ETCs or CETFs) invest in commodities, such as precious metals and futures. Among the first commodity ETFs were gold exchange-traded funds, which have been offered in a number of countries. The idea of a Gold ETF was first officially conceptualised by Benchmark Asset Management Company Private Ltd in India when they filed a proposal with the SEBI in May 2002.[24] The first gold exchange-traded fund was Gold Bullion Securities launched on the ASX in 2003, and the firstsilver exchange-traded fund was iShares Silver Trust launched on the NYSE in 2006. As of November 2010 a commodity ETF, namely SPDR Gold Shares, was the second-largest ETF by market capitalization.[25]
However, generally commodity ETFs are index funds tracking non-security indices. Because they do not invest in securities, commodity ETFs are not regulated as investment companies under the Investment Company Act of 1940 in the United States, although their public offering is subject to SEC review and they need an SEC no-action letter under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. They may, however, be subject to regulation by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.[26][27]
Exchange-traded commodities (ETCs) are investment vehicles (asset backed bonds, fully collateralised) that track the performance of an underlying commodity index including total return indices based on a single commodity. Similar to ETFs and traded and settled exactly like normal shares on their own dedicated segment, ETCs have market maker support with guaranteed liquidity, enabling investors to gain exposure to commodities, on-exchange, during market hours.
The earliest commodity ETFs (e.g., GLD and SLV) actually owned the physical commodity (e.g., gold and silver bars). Similar to these are NYSE: PALL (palladium) and NYSE: PPLT (platinum). However, most ETCs implement a futures tradingstrategy, which may produce quite different results from owning the commodity.
Commodity ETFs trade just like shares, are simple and efficient and provide exposure to an ever-increasing range of commodities and commodity indices, including energy, metals, softs and agriculture. However, it is important for an investor to realize that there are often other factors that affect the price of a commodity ETF that might not be immediately apparent. For example, buyers of an oil ETF such as USO might think that as long as oil goes up, they will profit roughly linearly. What isn't clear to the novice investor is the method by which these funds gain exposure to their underlying commodities. In the case of many commodity funds, they simply roll so-called front-month futures contracts from month to month. This does give exposure to the commodity, but subjects the investor to risks involved in different prices along the term structure, such as a high cost to roll
BULLISH BREAKAWAY
There is a downtrend but we also see that the prices bottom out and level off now. The result is a long white candlestick that however does not close the initial downward gap of the first and second days. This suggests a short-term reversal.
Recognition Criteria:
1. Market is characterized by downtrend.
2. We see a long black candlestick in the first day.
3. Then we see a black candlestick on the second day with a gap below the first day.
4. Bearish mood continues on the third and fourth days as evidenced by lower consecutive closes.
5. Finally however, we see a long white candlestick on the fifth day characterized by a closing price inside the gap caused by the first and second days.
Explanation:
The Bullish Breakaway Pattern appears during a downtrend and it shows that selling accelerated to the point of an oversold market. It starts with a long black day then involves a gap in the direction of the downtrend followed by three consecutively lower price days. So far, all days in this pattern are black with the exception of the third day, which can be either be black or white. The three days after the gap are similar to the Three Black Crows pattern since their highs and lows are each consecutively lower. It is by now apparent that the downtrend has accelerated with a big gap and then starts to fizzle, however it still continues. There is an evident slow deterioration of the downtrend suggested by this pattern. Finally, we see a burst in the opposite direction, which completely recovers the previous three days' price action. The gap is not filled which points out to the weakness of the reversal. This is a short-term reversal.
Important Factors:
A confirmation on the sixth day is recommended in the form of a white candlestick, a large gap up or a higher close, to be sure about the reversal.
BULLISH MEETING LINES
We sometimes see that market gaps sharply lower when it opens and then closes at the same level as the prior session’s close. This is seen following a black candlestick in a downtrend. Such an occurrence is called Bullish Meeting Lines Pattern that is a pattern reflecting a stalemate between bulls and bears.
Recognition Criteria:
1. Market is characterized by downtrend.
2. We see a black candlestick on the first day.
3. Then we see a long white candlestick on the second day. Its body is lower than the previous trend.
4. The closing prices are same or almost same on both days.
5. Both candlesticks are long but the second candlestick may be shorter than the first.
Explanation:
This pattern appears during a decline. The first candlestick of this pattern is long and black. However the next session opens sharply lower causing the bears to feel confident. Then the bulls start a counterattack pushing the prices up and leading to a close equal to previous close. The downtrend is now breached.
Important Factors:
The Bullish Meeting Lines Pattern is a pattern that is comparable to the Bullish Piercing Line Pattern. The Piercing Line has the same two-candlestick pattern. The main difference between the two is the fact that the bullish counterattack does not carry the prices up to the prior session’s white real body in the case of Bullish Meeting Lines Pattern. It can only get back to prior session’s close while The Piercing Line Pattern’s second line pushes well into the black real body. Consequently the Piercing Line Pattern is a more significant bottom reversal. Nonetheless, the Bullish Meeting Lines Pattern should also be respected.
The Bullish Meeting Lines Pattern requires confirmation of the reversal on the third day. This confirmation may be in the form of a white candlestick, a large gap up or a higher close on the third day.
