There hasn't even been a significant bounce anywhere here. Short are having a friggen hay-day here.
Because them too big to fail banks are still failing! Buy chunks on the way down and hold on!
What is going on here? Why is this stock still falling?
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- This is to advise you that BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (NYSE: BPT) announces that the dividend information for the Third Quarter of 2015 is as follows:

Yup, exactly what I posted bud! I think it'll be the 3rd (Friday) or 6th (Monday) imo
Looks like the will declare somewhere in the first week of July based on prior time frames.

That time of year again folks! Dividend season is right around the corner!!! I'm thinking next Friday or a week from Monday they'll report. I'd have to imagine an increase in dividend with the increase in oil price
Keep in mind that oil hasn't hit bottom yet. You will see oil below 40.00 per barrel. It depends when one has jumped in on said stock. A dividend helps, but it won't make up for the difference in loss of one's stock. You still have to be careful. Oil & gas isn't a good venture at this time. Also, without saying, mining stock & metals. I know from experience. Companies can also forgo their dividends especially when a company needs to balance their costs & maintenance in infrastructure. Don't lose perspective !!
best time to accumulate dividend or royalty paying oil stocks. get paid to wait for recovery in oil price.
Seems confusing at first, doesn't it? LOL
But it's not really.
This talks about the four dates and the importance of one.
http://www.dividend.com/dividend-education/everything-investors-need-to-know-about-ex-dividend-dates/
2. Ex-dividend Date
As of the ex-dividend date, buyers of this stock will no longer be entitled to receive the declared dividend and the stock is said to thereafter trade “ex-dividend” (without dividend). Before trading opens on the ex-dividend date, the exchange marks down the share price by the amount of the declared dividend.
As an example, ABC Inc declares a $1 dividend with an ex-dividend date of January 10th. Anybody who buys the shares on the 7th, 8th, or 9th—or any date prior to the 10th—will get that dividend. When the stock opens on the 10th, it will be adjusted down by $1 from the 9th’s closing price. Anybody who buys on the 10th or thereafter will not get the dividend.
Another important note to consider: as long as you purchase a stock prior to the ex-dividend date, you can then sell the stock any time on or after the ex-dividend date and still receive the dividend. A common misconception is that investors need to hold the stock through the record date or pay date.
Ex-dividend dates are the single most important date to consider whenever buying a dividend-paying stock.
So confusing, thanks for the clarification and good luck in your investing!
Good evening WizStreetKid
The Record date is Jan 16th but
X dividend date is Jan 14th.
To get the dividend you must own the stock before the X date - so that brings us to January 13th
A person must own it by January 13th, not January 16th, to receive the Dividend.
Good luck and best wishes!

Holy shit, best news of my life! Divedend check for $2.68 per share!!!!!! GO $BPT If anyone wants to get a check from Prudhoe Bay get in before January 16th! Hurry because the price will climb day by day
Great value play, get paid 10%+ waiting for oil price to come back. Even if dividend shrinks to 7% still a good value.
$BPT the investment will provide value directly of they don't own them anyways. I'll see if I can dig up some more DD.
The most conspicuous item that defines the US oil trust from Canadian trusts has always been Canada's permitting their domestic trusts to reinvigorate asset bases by drilling new wells and making other production enhancements. Contrast this by the US rule that trusts (domestic) for us Americans will not be permitted to build the business. The basis for differentiating a US royalty trust from a more traditionally taxed/taxing corporate or MLP entity comes into this, obviously.
I'm not convinced that BP's explorative methods and means will necessarily impact on BPT unitholders' fate. Keep in mind that BP does not own BPT's assets. The fruit fell from the tree long ago and is required by law to play itself out however kindly or not the environment should be.
I wish you could be right but I'll have to see supportive statements from BP TRUST itself before becoming a believer.
Thank you for jumping into the ditches with me! I hope you can bring this further along.
$BPT reserves and production capacity has been extended by BP's increased investment in Prudhoe Bay.
$BPT fair value has increased to $100 per unit.
$BPT estimated distributions for 2014 are $11.67 per unit yielding 13.6% distribution rate.
So this board is pretty inactive huh? Looking for another high dividend stock to check out.. Any suggestions?
You're right! According to B PT SEC filings the trust will fail to meet required production levels in the year 2027.
We'd better run for the exits now, huh?
I'm adding---the distributions add up favorably for more than a few years at the current rate of extraction.
There are longs and there are shorts. It's easy enough to figure it out, right?
Jugs
Total production is dropping like a rock! Only a matter of time!
This thing is a POS! Dropping 100 points 3 day in a row AH with no type of reason why.
you could have made a $4 profit per share just this week ....
From the WSJ a couple months ago...
In their latest annual reports, for example, BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust BPT +4.75% and Whiting USA Trust I WHX -0.41% calculated that the current value of their future cash available for distributions was $1.4 billion and $109 million, respectively.
Yet this week the total market value of BP Prudhoe stood at $2.3 billion; Whiting USA I, at $123 million.
It will be driven based on expected yield. I haven't looked by neither have I seen anything to indicate a significant decrease in the payouts. I think they'd have to have ~ $1.5 quarterly to remain at the same yield at $60
Good luck with that!
You mean 90! You have your 60 figure backwards! You have the opportunity to buy this stock cheap! It's a GIFT! Now's the time to buy! SLICK
You don't have to convince me I've been drinking the koolaid here since end of August. I'm in and happy to hold for 2013.
Buy more! Should be over $100 by December! $93 per share is a gift in my opinion
Stupid article make for great buying opportunity in my opinion.
Pretty crazy stock
I LOVE THIS STOCK! BOUGHT MORE TODAY AT $78
$BPT - HUGE bounce in the making.
