That stuff is good! We do not have a CC here in Charlotte, at least I do not think we do. If we do it must be downtown lol. I made a chocolate cake with Coffee Liquor over the weekend. All I can say is Yummmm Yummmmm.
Hope you feel better soon!
Good morning all. Was not feeling well over the weekend :/. We have a Miniature Schnauzer named Bailey. I will put up a photo of him later today :).
I have a lovable but fiesty Shih Tzu that doesn't realize how small he is when confronted by larger dogs. (Scared the hell out of me, when charged and chased off a rotwieler mix from our yard.)
Who is great with kids and guests.
I have a border collie too.
Reminds me of the saying, "I you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes."
What to put in ibox?...Got any unusual photos?...If you want I could send some that I've taken, mostly nature macros, of flowers and such...and feeding hummingbirds with my pentax K10 w/tele-macro AF 70-300mm...still trying to capture bird pic's with my Di/AF 90mm macro by infra-red remote. (Has to be very close, and the camera will turn off, if idle 7 minutes.)
Or pictures taken in Europe W/Nikon N65 35mm film. I even have one of St. Marks plaza in Venice, with a "Where's Waldo?" theme, and you have to guess which one is me.
Yeah. If I woulda grabbed some CCTC I coulda set up a whole expresso shop! Oh well you win some you loose some :). I could have grabbed some but I have had bad luck chasing stocks!
I have been out a good part of the day today. I hate days when I have to be away from the computer!
We need to decide what the Phirefli Special is.................Hmmmmmmmm.
What a day...going to bed. So what kinds of things do u guys want me to put in my I-box? I wanna be sure to link my favorite boards in there :).
"Flaming cherries jubilee" is usually made at table-side in a chafing dish, using arrowroot starch as the thickener,(For clarity of sauce) sometimes cornstarch is substituted. By using a good cherry-pie filling instead, you avoid the thickening process, saving considerable time. (And the clarity/cosistancy is assured)
In a sauce pan on medieum heat, combine
21 Oz. canned cherry pie filling(One can)
1/2 teasp powdered ginger (Do not use fresh, It'll taste soapy)
1/2 teasp fine ground cinnamon (Vietnamese is the best IMHO.)
1 table spoon sugar optional, improves caramelization.
heat 'till gentile bubbeling, remove from flame, add 1/3 cup E&J's brandy, dip long-handled METAL spoon to the mix to moisten only, then ignite the spoon, return it to the saucepan mixing and turning the sauce to keep the flame going as long as you can to caramelize the sauce...serve over vanilla icecream.
(Note, if you don't want to risk lighting the brandy, reduce brandy somewhat...but you really should try the flaming...better flavor. Just be sure you remove pan from flame, and just moisten the spoon W/brandy. I generally set it on counter/hotpad, dip spoon, wave spoon over the still lit burner and retun it to the pan....Enjoy!)
Sounds good to me...post it! I am going to make what is supposed to be a killer bundt cake this week. If people love it I will post the recipe. I am always looking for the next great chocolate recipe lol BTW my pancakes were great!
Not too slow a day, but I'm substantially caffiened-up. I thought I would post a quick reciepe for the elagant brandied dessert called "Cherries jubilee" if anyone is interested....? Really simple, and can even be served flaming. (Though in the intrest of safty, amatures should not ignite this at table-side.)
Slow day for me here. I am sitting here realizing I skipped breakfast, but don't want lunch. I think I will make some pancakes..... stay tuned.
Darn I don't see whiskey sour in there. My favorite!
LOL no unfortunantly. Not enough time to head out of the airport. Lord knows I could use some "coffee" right now, but I'll just stick with Heinekin... and Vodka... and Jack daniels...
Ha ha ha, what happens in Amsterdam stays in Amsterdam! :)
COOL!...Hey, when you get to Amsterdam, you going to stop at the coffee "Cafes"?...You know,... to get some "Coffee"?...LOL.
You should have heard the questions I got last time I was there from a customs gaurd, after taking a tylenol 3 (W/codiene for vertabrae injury) about what I might have in my carry-on. He must of asked me 4-5 times "Are you SURE, there is nothing in your bag, and was your bag in your possesion at ALL times?" That I was beginning to be a bit concerned I was being set-up, lol.
Have a good flight man!
Flying to Kuwait in the morning :)
Thanks!...Hey your coming home soon, are you all packed?
I get some really good beans from local-based specialty roasters, the best being aribica/Peruvian/free-trade but my mainstay is the 8 'O clock brand columbian, best bang for the buck.
Just about any coffee is best when you grind it as you make it.
I've got a kitchen aid grinder that is from a 1930'ish design...burr grinders being the best, blade grinders can "burn" the coffee if you aren't careful.
Congrats dude! Very happy for you and yours!
Thats sounds really good, I might just have to stop by SB later and get some!
I ground up some Gold Coast blend this morning. It's one of my fav's.
Todays coffee...hmmm....Starbucks Guatemala Antigua. Subtle Cocoa flavor with a splash of soft spice.
Thanks! We have the movers and shakers here LOL.
Awesome! Gratz! I hopefully won't be a grandma for a longggggg time! :)
Yesterday was another life event for me, 4th time grandpa! Molly is 7lbs, 11 Oz and 19". Mother is Sara (My youngest child) Both are doing well and resting comfortably.
If you have not seen it, here is a post from Vantillian on the types of bashers. I fall into the Joe Goodguy category, and only on SMAS!
