PEP’s newly raised non-GAAP EPS guidance for 2011 is $4.46-4.55:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/PepsiCo-Delivers-Solid-Third-prnews-2492003543.html?x=0&.v=1
The $4.46-4.55 range is not explicitly given in the above PR; rather, it is derived by multiplying the $4.13 non-GAAP EPS figure for 2010 by 1.06-1.08 (6-8% growth) and then multiplying that by 53/52 to account for the fact that FY2011 has 53 weeks.
PEP will not succumb to pressure from investment bankers to split-up:

GENEVA - The World Beverage Competition (WBC) and related competitions World Wine Competition, World Spirits Competition, World Beer Competition, known as “The World’s Largest Beverage Competition”TM, have begun to accept applications for participation in the 2009-2010 competition. Competition organizers expect a large and diverse participant base this year, as last year's entries exceeded 10,000 brands, with this year expected to be much the same; especially with the additional categories recently added to increase participation and broaden the reach of the competition, which has been an ongoing concern since 1991 and is considered the Premier and most Prestigious Beverage Competition in the World.
Small and mid-sized beverage brands compete in a fair and honorable double-blind taste test alongside major beverage conglomerates such as Dannon®, Bacardi®, Pepsico®, Liquor Group®, China Mist Teas®, E&J Gallo® and Diageo® for the honor of being adorned with awards from the World Beverage Competition. The tradition continues as we expanded the number of beverage categories to cover the full spectrum of products available in the world today including: Dairy, Energy Drinks, Water, Soda, Sports Drinks, Dietary Beverages, Powdered Drink Mixes, Juices, Coffee, Tea, Wine, Spirits, Liqueurs, Cider and Beer.
All products submitted to the World Beverage Competition are taste tested by a panel of Judges who…
…are industry professionals from 6 different continents; not celebrities, beverage retailers or public figures whom may show partiality towards a particular brand.
…are not divulged to the public, to avoid undue influence from brand owners and the media, which results in issues of credibility for the competition.
…do not see the packaging or know the brand-name prior to documenting and submitting their tasting scorecards.
International Media partners are being selected to offer in-depth coverage of the event and publicity for the competition winners. The familiar stringent judging regimen and the global brand participation assure a year of excitement for award winning participants!
Integrity, prestige, honor and success are words best used to describe the effect that competitors enjoy once awarded by this time-honored competition; founded on the principle that beverages ought be judged not by the strength of their marketing but rather on their quality and innovation. Beverage brand owners spanning the globe now have the chance to compete on an even playing field.

Pepsi always gets boycotted. What you so shook up about?
The current Pepsi boycott has been recommended by the American Family Association. This article covers it: www.onenewsnow.com/Culture/Default.aspx?id=379832. I hope this helps.
I will follow up on this.
I posed that on April 23 of "last year", almost a year ago, in responce from what everyone was posting on the internet.
There is a current boycot of Pepsi underway. Something about them backing some homosexual thing or whatever.
If you look below, the post I did that you are talking about is a year old. Though it might have been a hoax it does not matter, there was a nationwide campain to boycot Pepsi for the reasons I posted. So my post was accurate.

They are in trouble again. Ran an add that irked a large segment of the people and refused to stop add lest they offend the few. Hay, your post today was to a post I posted a long time ago. What's up?
Pepsico's CEO is pretty good (on CNBC)...surprised. They might be able to turn this around. Held its own during this downturn.
This boycott will not be good for Pepsico's earnings...

Nation-wide campain underway to boycot Pepsi for leaving "under God" off of new can.
Pepsi is coming out with new can and the pledge of alegiance on it, but they are leaving out "under God" in the pledge as to not offend anyone. This stock is going to take a bad hit . . . which they deserve. Dump it, buy coke, and short this thing because it is sure to go down.
Insider Purchases & Buybacks: PEP
Friday February 29, 5:47 pm ET
ByJason Raznick, RealMoney.com Contributor
Whenever a buyback is announced, it is always a good idea to check out the company, its fundamentals and its prospects. PepsiCo announced a buyback plan earlier this month to purchase $4.3 billion worth of stock in 2008. Let's take a little closer look at the stock and see if it has anything to offer us. (On Stockpickr, you can see the rest of the insider trades and buybacks).
Net income and earnings are a good place to start. Pepsi's net income rose 2.1% to $3.4 billion last year, while its revenue climbed 12.3% to $39.5 billion. Excluding onetime items, the Purchase, New York-based company's earnings per share grew 12.7%.
From a bigger-picture perspective, the soft economy has not caused jitters for the soft-drink maker. Pepsi has projected its earnings for 2008 at $3.72 a share. The company expects to generate cash from operations of about $7.6 billion, and its capital spending to be about $2.7 billion this year. It has also projected 3%-5% case volume growth and mid- to high-single-digit revenue growth.
Pepsi obviously faces stiff competition from Coca Cola and has to stay abreast with its product launches. This year, Pepsi will try to push its Diet Pepsi Max and SoBe Life Water beverages.
While the company has exposure to the slowing economy and has also been subject to rising raw-material prices, it has various strong global brands, which should support its performance. It has been achieving healthy volume growth in its overseas market and should continue to do so in the Middle East, China and India. In these regions, the company's carbonated beverages are more popular, but its healthy beverages and snacks should also grow.
There are several investment funds that own the company, a list of which you can see at Stockpickr.com. Some of the funds that have recently raised their stakes in Pepsi are:
# Colony Group LLC, which also owns Praxair , MetLife and T. Rowe Price .
# ProFunds Consumer Goods UltraSector, managed by Hratch Najarian, has three-year annualized returns of 14%. It also owns Procter & Gamble , Altria and Coca Cola.
# Vanguard Wellington, which has most of its assets invested in undervalued stocks that have prospects for improvement. The fund has a Morningstar rating of four stars and has five-year annualized returns of 12.42%. It also owns AT&T , General Electric and Chevron .
I believe the company's prospects are bright. It has generated a robust return on equity of 34.71%. And while shares have been volatile this year, falling from $79.79 in mid-January to around $71 now, I believe the buyback will help support the shares.

The food and drink story continues to work in a slowing economy, Jeff Macke said. Pepsi is solid and he wouldn’t expect it to miss earnings expectations any time soon.
Tim Seymour mentioned Pepsi as a buy on its huge international business. Coke (KO) is part of the same story, although Guy Adami prefers PEP because it’s a little cheaper and has that big buyback.

BLUE ISLAND, Ill., Jan 19, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- V-Net Beverage, Inc. (Other OTC:VNTB.PK) is launching a nationwide "Truth in Ginseng" campaign. The purpose is threefold: to urge industry-wide full-disclosure in ginseng labeling, to support stringent testing and authentication of ginseng products, and to educate consumers about beverages proclaiming "ginseng" on the bottle or can.
As Robert Corr, president of V-Net put it, "It's been 27 years since I created the first ginseng soft-drink of modern times and rekindled nationwide interest in this extraordinary herb. Nowadays, store shelves are laden with drinks, such as Coca-Cola's Full Throttle(TM), PepsiCo's SoBe(TM) line, Anheuser Busch's B-E(TM) and others that denote "ginseng" on their labels. The questions remain: how much and what type of ginseng root do these beverages contain, of what potency and where grown? After two decades of playing games, it's time for the beverage industry to be upfront with consumers about ginseng. V-Net has shown the way."
Corr noted the federal Farm Bill 2002 corrects the confusion arising from application of the term "ginseng" to Eleutherococcus senticosus (so-called Siberian ginseng, "Eleuthero"). The new law establishes that "ginseng" shall apply only to plants of the genus Panax. There are eight Panax species, but only two, Panax ginseng (Chinese ginseng) and Panax quinquefolius (American ginseng) are used commercially. Eleutherococcus sells for under $2.00/lb whereas American ginseng root trades for $25.00/lb.
"At V-Net, we use quality Wisconsin-grown American Ginseng root (Panax quinquefolius) exclusively in our beverages," said Bob Corr. "We shun foreign-grown ginseng because only Wisconsin has strict laws regulating growing and processing of ginseng. Strict oversight guarantees Wisconsin ginseng does not have harmful pesticide residues. In December, the FDA seized Asian-grown ginseng tainted by a cancer-causing fungicide (quintozene), banned for crops in the United States but used elsewhere. Not only is Asian-grown ginseng suspect. Quintozene is legal in Canada, a major ginseng exporter." (http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/ANSWERS/2004/ANS01334.html)
V-Net currently markets three ginseng beverages: Ginseng Rush(TM), Ginseng Rush XXX(TM) and Rush Herbal Cola(TM). Each 12 oz. bottle of Ginseng Rush contains 5 ml. American Ginseng extract. V-Net's extract is made by blending one full pound of American Ginseng dry root into one gallon of a water/alcohol mixture. Ginseng Rush XXX and Rush Herbal Cola contain 15 ml. and 3.8 ml. of this ginseng extract, respectively.
"The consumer has no idea of the quality or quantity of ginseng used in beverages of our major competitors," said Corr. "Hypothetically, they could take one drop of our ginseng extract and add it to a bathtub full of water. They could then take one drop from that bathtub, add it to their beverage, and write "ginseng" on the container in bold letters. To make matters worse, they could be using foreign-grown ginseng. Naturally, we have full faith they are following the law and using real ginseng and not "Eleuthero". With Ginseng Rush and Ginseng Rush XXX, our label tells how much ginseng is in the bottle and where it's from. We're proud of that."
