Come on baby--keep climbing! don't know why--but it is time!
Sorry for the confusion I caused. I took my losses on OPHI a few weeks back. I had been holding that stock since before it became OPHI. I still wish that it will become a company I want to invest in again.
I see the confusion. VRTY is in sustainable agriculture too. Not quite totally organic--but non-GMO and talks about soil health all the time. I thought there was a fit there.
OPHI has done some nice grass roots marketing, but the revenues just have not come in as expected, imo.
Billy was stupid to give away his company to this white trash.
Who knows been a long time now, at least 2 maybe 3 Q's.
Did they miss a filing or did thy not get an audit? What made them drop to pinks?
I will say this I do not like that fact they allowed themselves to drop to the pinks and not fully reporting.
CSJ, it might still work out.
they have a long hill to climb out of the well, but a couple successful products could change the outlook dramatically.
i'm past my 30-day wash on the tax loss, but am waiting for a sign of potential before getting back in.
I'm still long ........
CSJ, glad you're making up on other fronts for the hit here in OPHI.
hopefully OPHI recovers some decade, too.
LOL for me you did. And VPLM is doing wonderful !
Sorry Clueless, I confused VRTY with VPLM. I should have looked more carefully. I have no knowledge of VRTY. I guess I caused some confusion.
I dont believe I was the one who did that.
oxnous, maybe clueless could answer this. Clueless introduced VRTY to the board. I saw no connection in my limited readings?
Is OPHI involved with VRTY?
TIA
Someone "cleaning house" again. I personally don't blame them-thanks for hanging with us that long. I am still hanging-but missing a lot of opportunities right now. Best of luck to all.
Welcome Randy.........take a look, I personally believe VPLM has huge upside potential. I bought in at .008 over 7 months ago.
Clueless, your post re VPLM surprised me!! It may have been back in the AMSZ days, or possibly early into OPHI, that I asked a question of the board regarding another stock. I thought the world had ended when my post was removed and I was chastised for mentioning any stock other than the one the board was posting. Glad to see things may have changed. As I stated in a previous post, I sold my OPHI and took my losses. I will continue to watch OPHI/Kenactiv to see if it ever warrants re-entry. I intend to use my money in two or three stocks to test the waters. I bought APDN yesterday and will continue DD for another or two to invest the rest. I may include VPLM in my DD list. Thank you. RandyK
Randy, we're in the same boat.
as posted, i cashed out my non-IRA OPHI a month ago for the tax loss wash.
technically, i can buy again this month, but will wait from the sidelines for a good reason to do so, starting with a hint of insight into Kenactiv current production and sales figures.
i also hope this recovers, for everyone's sake, but have given up on it and mgmt for now.
Imiloa, You have an excellent grasp of my opinions of OPHI/Kenactiv.
I must say a few days ago I reached the limits of my ability to hold onto my shares. I sold OPHI and cleared my books regarding my OPHI losses. I will most likely keep an eye on this and hope that all the investors recover, but I have other things I am interested in that may do better for me in the near future.
my guess is that they were a bit too optimistic on their appeal at the conference, and as RandyK speculated, needed to cancel the webcast to avoid embarrassment.
note that this is pure speculation.
but i can't think of another scenario, short of medical emergency, that fits the scenario:
they pay for a PR, splashing the conf news.
then cancel the pre-announced webcast of the event.
then say nothing further.
at best, they were planning to demo a new product that wasn't ready in time.
at worst, they were just hoping to trigger a pump run, so they could dilute for payroll.
the real truth is prolly somewhere in between.
Marcum conference 30 days ago-no news--there had to be something at the conference to grab someones attention. come on OPHI/Kenactiv give me that warm fuzzy feeling again!
Yeah
Break out the Charmin.
Looks like clean up to me.
I think we made a mistake is the only thing going thru my mind.
Live & Learn.
Hey we could have bought Apple at $700.00

IS this same question going through anybody else's head today---WTF????
re: "It's all about share structure, it's as simple as that."
as before, i agree that low share structure helps increase momo in a rally.
but i don't believe the trading dynamics are that simple.
nor that simply the low share structure inspired someone to buy at 1.14 on monday out of the blue, after months of sub-$1 trading.
we have always agreed on your other points:
-- re: the company being a paper tiger, does seem the case after so long with no news or financials. (seeing financials has always been a priority for me, as you know.)
-- that the IR company is shady and a bad sign.
-- that some "real" news would move the price.
-- that dilution seems likely over time if the company is not real.
It's all about share structure, it's as simple as that. There obviously isn't anything here with this company. Sad, but true. If the IR doesn't return calls, it says a lot.
If for any reason, there is any REAL news the PPS will easily more. Unless they dilute. And my quess, is that they will.
They made it appear like they were some big conglomerate, with the fancy PR's, that say nothing.
The IR department says it all. It's been FIVE months since the reverse split. Need I say more.
we simply have different perspectives on reality, which is why we need to agree to disagree again.
i have been pressing you to be more specific in your logic, rather than blanket generalizations.
but perhaps that is also not your style.
good luck with your trading.
LOL But, you just can't seem to understanding it, that's why I am repeatin myself. That's why it's up post split from $ .165 to now. NOT FINANCIALS AND PE'S. LOL
you already said that.
and i agree that news will usually move a low float pink faster than a bloated float pink.
but that's not the case in this instance, is it?
specifically: what news drove the pop to $1.14 on monday?
can you post a link?
and you, yourself, note:
"OPHI has nothing. Those press releases weren't good news. A lot to do about nothing."
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=88919657
so why the sudden pop to $1.14, 25% above the prior top-end of the trading range with no news?
the only difference i see is UBSS appearing on the bid the previous trading day (friday), buying everything up to 0.91.
------ ------ ------ ------ ------
re: "Or maybe with a low float, any news will move the PPS, HUH LOL"
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=88928473
but low float alone doesn't explain why someone decided to buy at 1.14 this week, with no news, no update from the company, etc...
when the trading range has been sub $1 for 3 months.
Or maybe with a low float, any news will move the PPS, HUH LOL
and so we agree to disagree again.
good luck waiting for your short squeeze.
good thing you don't need the company to post positive financial data to start the buying to drive the covering of the significant short position that doesn't exist...
Easy, the so-called financials has nothing to do with moving the PPS. As we have just seen.
But, good luck, especially with UBS buying OPHI. lol
fwiw, UBSS still on 0.65 bid today, down from 0.94 monday.
looks like they got a stack of 0.70-0.91 shares, and then backed off.
only NITE (likely retail) showing a higher bid at 0.96.
seems we're back to "watching kenaf grow" mode here.
you don't need to buy my logic.
you only need to explain yours.
ie: a stock with a low float will move faster than one with a large float, because there are fewer total shares for sale.
basic physics of supply and demand.
on that, we agree.
but low float alone doesn't explain why someone decided to buy at 1.14 this week, with no news, no update from the company, etc...
when the trading range has been sub $1 for 3 months.
can you explain the buyer's motivation in clear logic?
Not buying it!
Low float.
OPHI has nothing. Those press releases weren't good news. A lot to do about nothing. But good luck with your UBS theory. lol
re: "would clearly indicate the float" -- that's your opinion.
i can think of many other reasons we are trading thinly, as posted over recent months.
re: "if you think UBS is taking over OPHI" -- when did i say that?
what i said is that UBSS appeared on the bid suddenly last friday, buying up sub-0.91 shares, then posting a 0.94 bid on monday.
UBS in general tends to have a lot more insider info that we retailers do.
if you don't believe that, you probably also believe the SEC doesn't penalize its employees for whistleblowing on illegal hedge fund practices, which would mean you simply don't read (or ignore) the news:
http://www.whistleblower.org/program-areas/corporate-a-financial-accountability/national-finance-reform/secgary-aguirre
evidently, other traders agree with me, as it was retail traders (NITE, CSTI) that then posted higher bids and presumably hit the 1.14 ask.
go figure...
re: "Any good news (or another false PR) should move the PPS"
we've already had several PRs since the RM, but none of them have moved the price:
http://www.otcmarkets.com/stock/OPHI/news
but UBS appears on the bid and a day later 1.14 prints, being our first >1.00 trade in 3 months.
re: "I wonder how Grow Stacker is doing?" -- GS is your thing. personally, i never cared about it.
the fertilizer sales have always been my primary concern with OPHI.
Given that the PPS moved such with little volume, this would clearly indicate the float.
But, if you think UBS is taking over OPHI, you'll be waiting a long time. LOL
Any good news (or another false PR) should move the PPS. And it wouldn't be too far off from my price point.
This company is living on a dream. We were all mislead once again. .............I wonder how Grow Stacker is doing? lol
btw, given your perspective that the company has nothing, and poor mgmt, meaning unlikely to ever have anything, wouldn't it make sense for you to leverage this brief buying enthusiasm that UBSS sparked to unload your shares above $1?
or do you secretly believe everything will work out, despite your grumbling?
i tried calling as well. got no new info, so didn't bother posting.
if you recall, i called several times back in Jan/Feb as well, and posted the scant info from those calls here.
re: small float, do you know the float size?
i don't think anyone outside the TA and IR do, and neither will reveal that info to me.
imo, the large spread and thin trading are due simply to:
-- the complete lack of public info about the new company.
-- every shareholder from pre-RM being down enough to hang on in hope of a positive sign of life.
re: financials, actually i stopped waiting.
sold my non-IRA shares last month for 30-day tax-loss wash.
now on the sidelines. might buy back in in july if there's a sign of life.
re: poor mgmt, on that we remain in agreement.
fwiw, UBSS lowered their bid to 0.65 this morning, but are still around.
either they feel they will be able to accum lower, or they lost interest quickly for some unknown reason.
will be interesting to see how the L2 landscape evolves...
It's seems obvious that the float is small for it to move 25% with such a low volumn, HUH What do you think. You are waiting for financials. LOL LOL
This company has nothing. IMHO
POOR POOR MANAGEMENT.
Have you or anyone else calld Valter? HUH. I have received no return calls after six calls. GO FIGURE IT OUT.
so now we're in a short squeeze again, as you said would happen back in Feb when trading resumed?
can you show your evidence for today's trading being covering?
the short interest for OPHI has been listed at zero for months now.
CSJ, i hope this does pay off near term for all involved.
i'm still holding my IRA shares (a few thousand).
currently washing my non-IRA shares for tax loss.
didn't expect it to move before end of june,
but won't cry if it runs before i can get back in post-wash.
NO, it just goes back to my previous statement of a tight share structure. Any little buy moves in a squeeze.
But, this company has nothing. Poor management and investment relations department.
I'm still holding .......
fwiw, 1.14 ask just hit for 7080 shares.
but i guess UBSS had no clue something was coming when they started scooping shares at 0.91 last week...
or did you simply cash out your prior position for the tax loss as i did, and now want to buy back in lower?
V6, weren't you the one a few months ago saying $1 pink stocks like OPHI don't move on financials, they move on momo, just like 00xx pinks?
or have you shifted to my perspective that feels pink stocks above $1 need something more substantial to support strong buyer support for a rally?

About Us:
In late 2005, Billy Styles and Alan Talbert were discussing the benefits of organic-based plant care products and how individuals and
Greens-Industry professionals would benefit greatly if only the products were more widely available. Homeowners, landscapers, and
other companies expressed a great deal of interest in the products, but hadn't converted to organic programs due to limited availability
or because they simply didn't have a full understanding of the products, and didn't have anywhere to turn for reliable information.
At that time, professional grade, organic-based landscape care products were only available, if at all, when purchased in large quantities and
high minimum orders. Understanding the challenge before them, they began working to develop a line of organic-based care products
specifically designed with the homeowner, landscaper, and other Greens-Industry professionals in mind. They also began creating partnerships with
manufacturers, suppliers, and other companies and individuals to provide high quality, organic-based products to the public at a reasonable cost.
Fast forward almost two years and say hello to Organic Plant Health - the result of a vision fueled by the passion of Billy Styles, Alan Talbert,
Matthew Styles, and a few other trusted associates. Organic Plant Health now provides a large array of products for use by homeowners,
landscapers, golf course superintendents, and other individuals and companies associated with the Greens Industry. Our products promote
healthy soil, reduce the need for watering, and promote a healthier environment and healthier plants, regardless of the growing environment.
To understand the true benefits of organic-based care, it's important to first consider the alternatives. Many products offered by the mainstream
Greens Industry are salt-based, synthetic formulas that promote dehydration in the soil which leads to soil compaction and plant decline.
In the American landscape, we take plants out of their natural settings and plant them in an urban setting for our pleasure and enjoyment.
We irrigate and water them continually just to keep them alive. In an attempt to keep the illusion of natural beauty, we fertilize with salt-based
synthetic formulas that promote a quick color response without regard to soil health or plant stress. In addition, synthetics weaken plant life
and make them more prone to stress and disease. Increased soluble salt levels in the soil accumulate and become toxic over time, and eventually
drive out or kill all beneficial microorganisms.
In contrast, products from Organic Plant Health provide high amounts of organic matter that promote microbial activity in the soil. This improves
air/water/nutrient exchange, deeper root systems, and more efficient nutrient uptake by the plant. Organic matter and biological activity in the soil
also contribute to disease suppression and better drought tolerance. Ultimately, organic-based care programs can reduce watering needs by up to 75%.
They also are safe for children and pets, and promote a healthier environment.
