NM as well as many other shippers are in refinance mode, my guess for the coming ramp in biz for europe.
NM does seem like their financing is less toxic then many others.
Their last deal was to sell shares, but at $5/shr.
Their pps at the time was around 1.60, so thats quite a premium.
Mebee, and if the creek don't rise, we can get a push to that $5 mark in the coming weeks.
I'm ready,,,lol.
Yeah man, I hear ya.
That news release I posted, was NM selling those shares for $5 bucks a share.
$5 bucks a share would do my portfolio nice,,,lol.
Gonna take time, but the shippers are positioning themselves now for the coming Euro expansion.
Hell, my Greek bank(NBGGY) is even starting to move up(up 75% this year from.20).
Just a matter of time bruddah.
Dab - NM is the one with the cash. It may take a while, but this will take off.
Bayguy,,,NM had a flurry of aft hrs trade.
Not many shares, but it looks like they dint allow any past 16:01 Thurs.
Probably due to this news aft hrs:

Matter of fact,,,I just added.
Bayguy,,I've been in this one for quite awhile and add whenever possible.
I may sell a little eventually near $10.
Time will tell bruddah.

Agree, I do keep that fact in the pot. It looks likes it might be a good entry here at 1.90. Bond rating changes always bring some form of irrational behavioral effect which can be capitalized upon.
Don't forget, NM is involved with many aspects of shipping,,,not just oil/energy.
And they are not based in Greece(Monaco).
I agree, I've been watching this since way back too. Opec stands to make NM great again. The U.S. can't possibly supply the whole planets oil supply.
Kid,,,looking at NM,,,the last few months is showing an uptrend.
It doesn't feel like it, but it is,,,lol.
http://tos.mx/ymEX1O
Always come the day of a buy signal. I held off and wasn't disappointed. Capped some driller gains instead.
They got a poor rating from S&P today "B".
Doesn't matter in the longterm.
Long term always pays off unless things go belly up. On another note, in the short term, seems whenever there is a buy signal generated the daily result is at least starting to get predictable :)
As Europe goes, so will Navios IMO.
I recently went green on it after holding for a few years,,,lol.
I'll continue to hold for $10 bucks.
Mebee I'll sell it 5 years from now, but I'll make a nice profit,,,lol.

It's the same as previous time when it ran over 2$ few months ago. In premarket it goes up a lot, and when market opens it's back around where it started. Strange actions.
NM set to do a lil gapper this morn.
Hopefully it will be sustained.
I averaged down, and immediately gave up several K. Timing is everything. You can't be too patient ever. The stock I mentioned owning several years, finally at the all time low ever at -89% of buy in I pulled the trigger. I procrastinated for over a month at those prices on whether to buy or not. The next day it tripled, the day after it was up 5X's. Stand to be correct that their earnings will increase from 12 mill to 17 mill, probably more like 40%, actually had 3K gain, when I would have still been down 25%. It does work, and the positive side is, it teaches that patience is a valuable thing in this area of life too. Still own em,' it's a penny that may well be a 10 to 20 down the road. It's just pulling out of trips town. Only penny I would ever think of going long on. But anyways back on track with NM though, this 90% compliance by OPEC for the last 30 days bodes very, very well for both drillers and shippers going forward. The driller are 1st in the que. These 3rd world countries that rely on oil, have huge pent up demand for infrastructure: buses, planes, equipment of all types, food stocks, you name it. Makes going forward a little brighter for NM. HUGE NEWS! We just want to keep seeing more of the same every 30 days.
The mkt for longterm contracts will have to come back and it will take a rising BDI to do that.
NM likes to do longterm contracts, and it probably is what helped to keep them afloat the last 10 years.
IMO, this will be needed in order for them to even think about divvies again.
Yes, I'd love to see that dividend come back
On earnings for NM,I am not expecting a great deal.
Since most of their charters are locked in contracts, they don't bounce around to much in price.
Some of their charters are for 5 years or more.
With the BDI in the tank there is not alot of impetus to increase prices.
It's a waiting game with the maritime industry.
The little divvie they used to pay was nice while waiting for the industry to come around.
I am trading in NM at even after averaging down as well.
I have had 1 long hold penny for about 2 1/2- 3 years, was a slow walk down to 80% loss, then out of the clear blue I'm break even. Rev's jumping 70% for this year so far. Still long, with 3 average downs to help. Nice leverage for the next leg up. I will keep a close eye on NM. I just have to breath deep to be long on some. The freebies are a nice way to keep a few on the burner.
Earns 2/23 B4 MKT open.
As for heavy on the ASK,,,lol, the MM's play all kind of tricks bud.
I've seen them flood the ask to try and scare lemmings into selling while they are buying their shares.
Another trick is to move the ask far from the pps while keeping the bid 1 tick below the pps.
They'll use both to induce selling to them.
On the flip, the shorts could do the same to try and force lower prices.
It's a coin toss,,,lol.
I don't play those games, and if I like a company for some reason, I generally buy and hold.
http://tos.mx/WKgx7P
When is their next earnings report due out?
When is their next earnings report due out?
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Do you think she could ever seriously get back to 10 with dividends. Where the heck do all the shares keep coming from. Whether she goes up or down, there always seems to be a huge imbalance on the ask. Even when the stock is going up like the last hour,...There are 10x's as many shares being sold as being bought and yet it goes up. It's a strange sight, makes me wonder if I'm looking a at ponzi sometimes.
Well Kid,,,GLTU.
I've been an owner of NM for many years and once I buy them for a reason, I hang on until there is no reason for me.
It doesn't matter to me what China does as far as acquisitions are concerned.
NM is a pretty good company with a decent balance sheet.
If there's a trade war between the U.S. and everyone else, so be it.
NM is based out of Monaco and will run to the highest bidder to move freight.
Also, because most of their charters are locked in, the daily BDI is not as much a worry.
Before I bought in, I worked in the industry for 10 years, and I spoke with many superintendants, etc. of various shipping companies. Most said NM was a well run co.
Of course a pullback in the industry will affect most sippers, however, when the industry starts to rebound(and it will happen), it will float all boats,,,pun intended.
I've changed my mind about China, after watching PME the last 3 days I think she wants to keep all the money in house. I have been happy with the NM run we had, but the massive amount of shares getting fed to happy buyers has never ended. After doing a lot of research during the last month, it seems there has been a massive push of analysts and brokers to quietly pump this baby up, which justifies my conspiracy theory. I'm a long time watcher of NM, but I think there will be a much better re-entry price soon down the road. The BDI always matters, as their lastest bunk is NM is doing so good the BDI is't effecting it, and the price will be $4.00 shortly. It's done on the OTC all the time, just less subtle. Just enough bid support to lure a whale boat of suckers. What a pile of news crockery, wait around long enough and the smell of pickled bag holders starts wafting through the air. I think a couple big players loaded the boat under a buck and they just got off the media train for long vacation. So many many shares have been dumped that it kept taking fewer and fewer shares to create the illusion of bid support...It was a masterfully done job. The chart tells all. Can't believe I got sucked into this computer driven program sellers used to create a Bullish Harami buy signal as the last hurrah' before leaving town. Gave gave back 1/2 my profits in 8 hours. So I took the 5 k and left Dodge. Don't know if I will be back till $1.25., during the meantime there are a lot of fish going upstream! Momentum is good! If I was the victim of a massive shakeout, I really don't care on a day the when the pps blows out the bottom of the channel and drops by 10% on only a million shares :) Happy Kid!
Well Kid,,,a close above 2 should be the catalyst to take out 2.20 by my measures.
I think you may have something there with a play on China, however Frangou may not be a willing participant as NM is a deeply rooted family based biz IMO.
But as they say,,,money talks!
http://tos.mx/34G2nX
NM interesting stock.
Well, at least we have bullish signal starting to develop today, if all goes well and confirms, we are making another leg up, and cinch your saddles on tight! HUGE!
Prob is, he may not buy overseas, and it's stuff he can get by truck/rail from within the U.S.
America First.
That being said,,,NM did see a bit of a rally and some other bulk shippers have done ok,,,IE SBLK, SB, etc.
Hard to say how the Trump thing will help shippers.
Navios stands to win with Trump trillion dollar infrastructure rebuild. Will need a lot of goods!
No one will be complaining when this is back up to $10. with dividends again! or the China buyout factor that can happen soon. HUGE! I've been watching this company for over a decade and have watched these cycles over and over. NM is lean and mean and in excellent shape now. Could hit new all time highs in 36 months, and $4.00 short term.
All shakeouts keep building new BULLISH flags on the chart!
Massive accumlulation going on with NM common shares!
Earnings on an nice upswing for NM!
China gives the green light all its nationlized and homeland shipping companies to agressively buy and acquire other shipping companies to expand it's worldwide control of shipping, and ultimately it's own destiny!
NM CEO borrows 70 million to buy back boatload of preferred shares!
