MXC halted. News pending.
http://www.streetinsider.com/Corporate+News/Mexco+Energy+%28MXC%29+Halted%2C+News+Pending/3665858.html
Gads, I don't hate you for your opinion.......I respect it. I'm not one to delete/harass/ridicule somebody if they have a different opinion than me.
I forgot to mention one thing in my last post. I remember when both ADDL and AYSI were in the mid .60's. I told you that you should go with ADDL and you told me to go with AYSI. Well, ADDL went down to .05 and AYSI went to 2+. Who am I to rant and rave at you for having a different opinion about DPDW????
Getting back to MXC...I remember looking at the chart/your posts about 4 weeks ago. MXC was in the mid 7's. It looked too risky for me, so I didn't buy any shares. So, what's it done?? It's only gone up $20 more!!! That's absolutely incredible!!
Last post for the day LOL. I have no idea where it will go. I'm gonna call the CFO today or tomorrow. Hopefully we can talk if she isn't swamped.
I still have shares in taxable acct but have sold off huge amounts of my total position. Luckily got rid of another nice chunk today everywhere from the $20 level to the $28 level.
Woooohooo huh!
This has been ridiculous. I will keep some shares cuz I want to see if I am even correct in guessing the earnings for June report and August report. There is some fogginess with the apparent pooled royalty interest vs straight ownership in the wells so we'll see what that does. It leaves too much ambiguity for me to bet big even if this drops back a fair amount. I need to know thsoe wells to have confidence. It bugged me that at first the comapyn put out a PR saying the wells were 21.45% owned each but then later they found that they at least THINK the wells are part of a pooled area instead. I guess the upside is all 3 wells have nice production #s so the pooled wells probably have high output #s when they come online. But I don't know which wells where so I don't know how fast they're declining in production, etc...
I like the company and structure so as mentioned will hang onto some shares regardless of where the share price goes. Plus I want to see this during hurricane season if an ugly gets into the GOM. Hopefully nothing of strength enters the GOM this year. I'll have to start brushing up on hurricane stuff, TCHP loops in the GOM LOL and all that funny terminology.
Hva efun with those 125 shares! I commend you for being patient enough to let some run and run and run!
PS- jaybird if you are out there I just wanted to say the whole low float, explosive growth, run to the moon scenario you call on some of your holdings was exactly spot on with MXC so hat's off to you on that call. I woulda never thunk it possible a month ago. Still not a fan of your capital letters and bold LOL but to each their own style I guess. It is defintiely a hallmark of your style.
Good luck all! I'm done for the day (posts)... Plus my daughter's gonna get up here soon and I want to call CFO.
PS- ACK! PERT is back on AYSI LOL. Stinkers... They're gonna be my nemesis. I need to make sure I know things better than them so am gonna have some work to do. Would be nice to know who that is first off... They have an edge on me with me blabbing about everything and them not visible anywhere. I may have to go stealth until I figure out who in the world (and where LOL) this is.
mauiguy- that is a great reminder with RGMI... The lesson I learned with it... That lesson is what keeps me away from what you're recommending. That one could end up almost as bad as something like RGMI IMO only. But it will take time (maybe 1-2 years guess) and I could be WAY wrong.
Luckily I noticed when RGMI was a disaster and still had some value and got out without getting completely cremated but I should have noticed several warning sings way earlier on (I'm still a rookie so remember that when reading my posts).
Some of those RGMI warning signs are on the one you're mentioning IMO only but they're completely difft businesses. It is just my opinion so don't hate me for it! Just being honest and hope I am way wrong cuz I have no money to make in watching it go down....
I made a checklist and every time I make a bad investment, I write down at least 2 new categories to 'score' if you will going forward for the next investment based on the mistakes I made. The 3 checks I put up for RGMI are all on the negative side for the one you mention. I won't reveal the specifics of my checklist cuz I am finding it to be a great screener;) Although one has to do with Accts Receivs from RGMI days.
Problem is, it is so 'good' at screening that it throws out almost anything out there LOL, so maybe there is hope for your investment. And maybe it is not such a good screen. But it keeps me out of trouble so far and has improved my performance as time has gone on. I tweak it fairly often though. Maybe your investment will ahve me tweak it down the road if it ends up I was wrong on my negative thoughts on it.
My advice to you is to sell but I don't know how much you've dug on it. I've dug deeper than you might think IMO (no pun there). I am looking out 1-2 years in saying that. Near term it could do a carzy MXC. For your sake I hope it does:)
This is just my opinion.
Ya you're definitely right there. I'm fine paying higher taxes on short term gains. I'll let the rest rot for long term gains.
Come to think of it, I should call the CFO to make sure something didn't change LOL. I haven't talked to her for over a week. Don't want to regret selling (I'm joking there, who could regret a 500% gain in a couple months especially when it is a big bet?)...
Good luck, hope we can find a couple more big ones.
The best thing about Short-Term Gains, is the Gains part. I guess the Short-Term part is good, too, since you get your Gains quicker. Despite Uncle Sam's take, a Gain is better than no Gain, right?
Rhino
Everyone has their own opinion. I completely agree with your take. I'm only one person and so should be taken in that light when I say things.
Just sold some more MXC at $27.98, this time in my taxable acct (I sold all my shares in my Roth LOL). Darn short term gains! ;)
Good luck.
PS- Deep Down still has the best looking I-Hub board. I haven't changed my opinion on that aspect either LOL...
Good luck with MXC and AYSI, Littlefish. I was just joking around with you on the other one. I still like it, but everyone's entitled to their opinion. Hopefully we can lock in on another new hurricane play before the season gets into full gear. HLLD might be one, but I'm not betting the bank due to it being on the Pinks and very young. MXC is still a hurricane play, too, so who knows, $50... $100? Time will tell. I think you're smart to lock in some profits after such a run, though. GLTY. Rhino
Rhino I Know where my profits are going!
Cash and AYSI LOL...
If you are thinking Deep Down (don't use the symbol, I don't wanna have to listen to people squawk all day at me thru PM and on boards and this is just my opinion to you cuz I liek you), that is probably the only company out there that I would short if I did short cuz I know it well enough now IMO after spending several hours on two weekends going over it to feel comfortable of knowing more than the longs on it including Joe but IMO only.
It flunks my checklist pretty comfortably and would say the one saving grace for them is if next Q they get ARs and revs turned around (as in revs going up sequentially and ARs going down). If they don't I owuld tell you get out fast but will wait one more Q to see. They have some issues IMO collecting on their products for some reason but not sure why and aint gonna spend a bunch of time figuring out why (they recognize revs when product is shipped so payment I would assume would be within 90 days of being shipped/delivered yet their ARs I have calcd are not doing that and are getting moldy IMO only).
I would sell that sucker 10 ways to Sunday IMO only and I'm looking out 1-2 years, not 1-2 months in saying that. Don't bring that up on the other board please, those people are way to overzealous for a free poster to handle LOL. Let alone a paid member! I had some good DD posts deleted unfortunately. But they were negative posts and they didn't want me around so I left after trying to let them know how confident I feel about that being a bad investment.
I would not buy AYSI ten ways to Sunday at all, but I feel pretty good about it at current levels even with the risks of having only one product and one plant (currently). They're just barely getting started hopefully.
Think I'll go buy a few shares of that one.
Hey Littlefish,
It's been a long time since we've communicated, but I've followed a couple of your stocks...AYSI and MXC. Wow!!! You've done incredibly well. Kudos to you!!! You've come a long ways since that disaster with RGMI.
I'd like to still see you come aboard with DPDW. I think DPDW could be another big winner for you. But, meanwhile enjoy your moments in the sun with MXC. Good job!!
I agree. Don't know if I would short (but I don't short), but this is ridiculous.
Fun, but ridiculous LOL.
A LOT OF FUN!
More than a 52 week high!
This is an ALL TIME HIGH!!!
YEEEEAAAAHHH!.
Teeheehee.
i tried to find shares to short when it hit 28 but couldn't find any available through two brokers. its a nice company but its just running with the other small cap O & G plays and don't see a fundamental value in the upper $20s holding. for now, its controlled by momentum not fundies though...
Good Lord, $28.65! I bet this has even blown your expectations away. And to think I thought I missed out when this was hitting $17.00. Nice one, Littlefish! I have a great idea of where to put your profits, LOL ;)
Rhino
Now THAT WAS BETTER than GOOD sex LOL...
I got a bit orgasmic selling around $26-$28 thne it fell back.,
Still have some but can't justify bailing a good chunk with that orgasm of speculative buying.
Well they ate 125 more..Only 125 left..Who knows where it will go now little...
YEEEEEHAAWWWWWW!!!!!!!!
LOL, this is awesome, still have a chunk of shares but dumped some more today.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
awesome play, little fish!! congrats!! eom
p, but I'm selling right now big grin!!!
littlefish u still in mxc? unreal play if u are!
MONSTER! Yawn..Another new 52 week high..
Hey, top gainer on the AMEX! I think that makes 2 of the 5 days this week in that spot. Pretty rare IMO... Especially on thin air (no news driving this latest run). Or maybe they were top spot last week. I forget, it is a blur LOL.
Looks like I get to go back to elite free membership tomorrow LOL. That's OK, I have some DD to do and need to spend more time with family (especially my Dda visiting from overseas). Just been too much fun with the luck of having MXC go ballistic lately to stay quiet!
Have a good weekend.
LOL. Me happy too.
jap1511- don't regret it IMO. Learn from it, don't dwell on it and get ready for when the next one pops up, even if it takes a year to find;) It'll be out there but probably not the rocket zoom liek this. Patience and learning are two good ways to get better. The only time after this started running where I told poeple I'd buy was when it pulled back into the mid $8s (when I was buying back shares).
but now it is ridiculous LOL. Some of these bigfish projecting earnings power based off 21% interets in all 3 wells MIGHT gbe disppointed down the road. But we still don't know the exact details of the darned purchase. it is real good but not worth pushing the price to $20 w/o having some concrete info like the annual to base the run off of.
This is fumes and thin float.
Hey, where's jaybird??
He called the $20 target LOL. Only person that I remember on I-Hub that was ever bullish (publicly) on this (besides me).
Nice job jaybird. I owuldn't have thought it could get to $20! Just about did!
ya, and OM almost lost 1/2 his shares with that $19.99 order LOL!
Gonna have to call him OMG! As in OptionMonsterGawd!
MONSTER HAPPY!
Almost tagged $20 for ya...WOW
Earnings will help them out OM:) BTW, I'll probably try and buy some of these shares back in the $15s if we can get a selloff.
GEESH!
Never said it was low..Just said can only imagine if it had a higher rating
IBD puts an emphasis on long term improving EPS which may be why it seems low to you.
Whoo, thanx MikeS! LOL, now I feel better and the weekend will be more enjoyable;) Knew I could trust you for accurate info.
Next week might be project AYSI... I have some cash but need to dwell on several things and want some clarity.
Only a C+...Could only imagine if we were a B!

Mike
LOL, you might get taken out by the end of the day! Or maybe Monday...
In the words of a fellow investor that comes up with some good expression:
GEESH!!!
I have 125 waiting at $20...Holding the last 125 like I told you the other day...Never know could be a split in the future..
Dang, just sold some more at $18.69...
I sure as %$#@ hope MikeS is right about the IBD list LOL. I'll be pissed at myself if it comes out in there and I didn't verify things for myself... But I trust him.
Ugh, I'm down to about 1/3 to 1/4 my original position and my original position was only about 2/3 what I wanted...
Frack. My wife is gonna squawk (but then smile at the gains today so luckily I'll be safe- if she squawks too much I just turn to her and say 'OK you do it' and then she backs down quick LOL). She does it mostly in jest though, so I go along with it;)
Thanks researcher!
MXC +4.19 to 18.34 ..... congrats to all shareholders. Unfortunately I sold out of a small position way too early.
This stock has become more of a technical momentum play than a value play at this point .... who knows how high the traders might drive this one ??? Good luck !
#3 top gainer!!
C'mon... Not #1? Dang... LOL.
OK OM, on three.... One, two,
OK OM, on three.... One, two,
#4 in top $ gainers!
Where is this in the top gainers on the AMEX today?
I'll try and sell a few more at 418. My wife is gonna be pissed, selling some in the $13s and $14s last couple days!
Woopsy daisy...
Just need AYSI to go up to make up for it (I bought a bit of that one with the MXC funds but there's a jackass bigfish seller on it).
Remember that institutional investor I was tlaking about snooping around? Look at the bid size;) They're shwoing themselves to try and get a hysteria run. But sell into it iMO if it shows up and we get clsoe to $20. We'll see. I stil lahev a good chunk but it is satrting to dwindle lOL. Only in share count, not dollar size!
