Top Menu > Hot! > Top Boards
This is THE list on iHub. It shows the heart of the site. These boards are ranked on a super-secret formula of boardmarks, posts, age, among other things.
This is where you can go to find the boards that are the cream of the crop and have withstood the test of time.
***
Top Menu > Hot! > New Subjects / Site Stats
New subjects is listing of the most recent boards started on iHub. This is an extension of the home page list.
Site stats shows various stats related to the site. Registered users, posts, and boards per category are all there.
***
Top Menu > Hot!
This is a listing of the most recent 50 boards with posting activity. This doesn't represent most bookmarked or most posts, but simply the latest post, based on time.

Favorites > Research Links
Another buried feature. If you spend as much time on iHub as some of us do, it's nice to have links there for easy access. Makes iHub your main point of entry for stock research.
To add: Click 'Add Research Link' below the tab.
To remove: Click 'Remove' on the line you want to remove.
Here's a copy of mine:
Alexa Remove
Bloomberg Remove
Maxim Online Remove
My Yahoo Remove
Raging Bull Remove
Silicon Investor Remove
Yahoo Finance Remove
Favorites
Believe it or not, a lot of people don't know about this function. This keeps track of all the boards and people you follow. Sort of a start page for you on your journey through da Hub.
To add Favorites:
Boards - directly below the header, to the right, 'add to favorties.' or when reading any message from that board, below the message, in the blue bar, 'add to favorites [boardname].'
People - Click on that person's name, go to their profile, and at the top, below their name, click 'Add Personmark' or or when reading any message from that person, below the message, in the blue bar, 'add to favorites [alias].'
After they are added, any new messages by those boards will show up as a link under 'X Unread' which you can click to see the latest messages you haven't read. Same is true of people, if you are a premium member.
To Remove a board, simply look across the table and hit 'Remove' on the line with the board you want to go bye-bye.
Hold your breath. Tomorrow, we talk about Favorite Links.
***
Boards > Start A New Board
Clicking this button lets you start a new board. Fire up a board for your favorite stock or your own stock picks. With a little work, you can potentially rise to fung_derf's level of popularity.
***
Boards (menu link)
This gives a category-based layout of the boards.
To the left, premium boards, which require a subscription.
To the right, free boards, which requires free registration.
Within the link, you can further break down the list on all kinds of options. Size, etc.
***
MailBox > Archived: Inbox - Outbox
Looking for a message you replied to? Or removed? All can be found in the archives. You can view SENT and RECEIVED. One of these days we'll add the function to page back through them all. For now, you can use the current display OR you can use the search box at the top right, type in words from an old PM, and pull down "Private Msgs", and it will search your private messages, both sent and rec'd.
***
Mailbox > Kept Public Messages
Really neat feature. If you are reading a post on the site and want to "bookmark it" to read later, all you have to do is click "Keep" on the post you want. While viewing in single message format, it's at the top and bottom. While viewing in next 10/50/100, it is at the bottom right. Once you click that, it is stored in this section of your mailbox until you "Unkeep" it.
***
Mailbox > Private Messages
Believe it or not, a lot of people don't know about this feature. It is one of the most popular. In this section of the mailbox, you can see any private messages someone has written to you. These are yours. Nobody can read them except you and the sender. Consider these your e-mail account within iHub. They are instant. You can send one by going to someone's profile or clicking "Private Reply" to a message. You must be a premium subscriber to use this function. Everybody can read PMs sent to them, even if they are a free member. You just have to be premium to respond/send.
Note that ANY member can send PMs to Bob or myself
*****
Mailbox > Unread Public Replies
A lot of people don't realize what this is until much later on. This is one of the coolest features on the site. If you are like me, you post on a lot of boards. This feature allows you to be instantly notified, no matter where you are on the site, of a reply to one of your messages. You can click on the Mailbox, then view the replies to your public messages in this section.

Starting out with some basic newbie stuff. I'll get into the more advanced features, later.
This board is an excellent idea if it stays relatively undiluted.
Home Page > Board Spotlight
A place where we spotlight boards that folks might be interested in. Rotated as often as we can remember.
***
Ok, that was an easy one. I'm going to work my way across the menu as we go.
I'm going to add this board to my bookmarks and post once a day for a while.
I've wanted to rotate a little "feature of the day" to the top of the site, but I figure that'd be annoying as heck to have to put up with it.
So, I'll just post to this board. There are so many features to this site, most people don't even bother to check out most of them.
I'll start with the basic ones.
EDIT: Just realized I've posted with 3 aliases on this board. TOS submitted.
Matt,
As a Chairman of several boards I have a request that I think would make keeping the board up to date easier for many Chairmen.
What I would like is a series of posts (say 10 or so) that stay editable and are controlled from the Board Manager, so only the Chairman or Director of the board can edit theses posts. The purpose of these posts would be to contain such things as stock research, (that is continually changing) posting rules or regs., or anything else the board managers want to use it for! These posts should automatically update the link to them in the Ibox and on the board. TIA
muel <g>
Matt
I also noticed that when you read a post on the board that is directed to you that it does not delete it from the mail box...I end up reading the post twice.
Will this be changing?
One other thing...when a post is made it would be nice if you were automatically brought back to the board/point when you made the post.
**More on Favorites**
Now, reflects "New Posts" since you last read a post there...
Also reflects new posts by a person, since you last read one by that person.
When adding new boards...It shows total #. Just click to that board, read a message and it will reset to zero.
One suggestion I agree with - a "CLEAR ALL" button. Will do.
Also, notice Research Links...
As more and more stuff is added, you will soon be able to build your own start page!

**Favorites Module**
The Favorites, by huge demand, is now live.
There will be more added to it, obviously, but the main functions are there.
Coming:
New Posts since you last visted
New Posts by a Member since you last read
Ability to even bookmark favorite posts
Ability to set up your own "Research Start Page"
For more info on how to use it:

Try it out and let us know what you think!
We will soon make it prettier. We aren't exactly color-skilled

Edit Post Feature now up and running...
Simply click your message that you posted and you have a 10 minute window everytime you edit to edit the post...
Spelling coming soon..

You seem to have found it on Club Fatt! thread...
Did you find on other thread or still lost? This is the kind of feedback I need...Maybe it's in bad position..not big enough...or wrong colors...

ChairMail, Well spank my butt and call me stupid. I just can't find where
I or anyone else can sign-up for the mailing list for a particular board.
Cheers,
Lloyd
**ChairMail for EVERY board and club**
This is a feature that allows people to signup for your e-mail clubs and alerts. As you can imagine, there are tons of uses for these lists.
The Chairman has the ability to send these messages. They are currently announcement-only, meaning that all replies go ONLY back to the Chairman.
Chairman: When you send an e-mail, don't worry about putting a link back to your board. It is auto-inserted into the e-mail to increase the number of public responses and traffic to your board.
A unique feature of the ChairMail is that you actually get to "know" your users, instead of just seeing an e-mail address. All of the users on the e-mail list are linked to their profiles, so you can SEE your members and better understand them. Pretty nifty, huh?
Test it out and let us know how it works for you and if you have any suggestions for it.
As always, we are in BETA, so problems MAY happen!
FM
**New Opening Page**
Well, we finally got tired of looking at that "Under Construction" page so we changed it over to a slightly better looking page
It should make it a little more enjoyable now.
The various boxes that *should* be updated will be updated more often when we really get rocking. They are just in place for now. If you have a suggestion for something to be placed in any of those, send me message here or @ matt@investorshub.com
Give us any feedback you may have.

It looks like almost all of the things on the "to do" page are almost done. Have you set a new date for the official launch, since obviously it didn't happen in April 2000.
beigledog
The search system looks great I typed in wavx and it went right there. :)
beigledog
**Searching System**
The search system is up in its inital form.
Changes to be made:
1) Will take you directly to the board when you hit 'Ticker' and type in a ticker
2) Will propmt you to create a board when you type in a ticker that isn't there.
3) Will add full-text (entire site) message searching
But it is live in its inital form.
You can search for boards by ticker, by subject title, or search for People.
Test it out and see what you think.
FM
**Free Email**
We have added free email for everybody. A few people had requested this.
It is not POP3 yet (use your own Mail program - Outlook, Eudora, Netscape, etc), but it will be eventually.
If you have any suggestions, please let us know.
It's a nice little feature that will eventually add a lot of functionality to the current mail box. It will all be integrated to make things very seamless and slicker than teddy bear poop ;)

Matt
**Hiding iBoxes**
We have added the functionality to Hide the iBoxes in order to go directly to the messages.
Simply click on Hide iBox and it will continue to be hidden until you click Show iBox.
Try it out. Again, it's in BETA testing, so something might pop up. If it does, send whatever you get to Support or me or Gman.
Also, note that it does show the Chairman and Created text even when hidden. This will soon show the "Chairman" and "Updated" to let people know if the Chairman has been rotated or when the last time the iBox was updated with new information (very key for stock clubs)
Let us know what you think.
MB
**New Message Look**
If you have noticed, we have added:
In Reply To:
Post # of XX (which is inputable, meaning you can directly go to a message from there)
Condensed the Headers to make the message appear with little or no scrolling..thus quick and easy
On the Board List of Messages, we added Direct to Post #
Any thoughts on the condensed look and the message #'s? Makes it easier? Want something changed?

Wow!!! A lot different in the last three days.

Matt
This sounds great! Once this site is open to the public, volume of messages will be way up. Very helpful to know what is being responded to.
Steve
**New Feature for Private and Public Messages**
We need some feedback on the way Private Messages now work. We made a few changes that we think you will like.
When you reply to a PUBLIC post, it will now show which post you are replying to, under Posted By: and Date:
When you reply to a PUBLIC post via Private Message, the private message sent will include the post you are replying to. (No clicking!)
When you reply to a PRIVATE message, the original message (one you are replying to) will also be included.
This is to help make the discussion focused and also help us people that are forgetful, remember what we are talking about.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
FM
**iHub Live!** New Module
We have just added full-featured Chat software.
You can email Support to create an open, no password-required room, or start up your own password-protected room on your own, by clicking New.
A password will eventually be required to gain access to the program. Visit the Live! page (clickable from the top) to test it out and learn more.
MB
**Profiles** New Module
The profiles are now live. There are a few edits to be made, but they are up for the most part. You can edit these by clicking on Edit My Profile (which will eventually move from hanging there in mid-air
The profiles are a neat feature because they open the lines of communication a little more and allow people to get to know one another better.
This also lists all of their posts, which will be easily navigable, eventually.
You may also choose to enter Message Signature. This will append whatever you put in the Msg Sig box to the bottom of every message you right. If you always sign post the same way, it will save you a little typing!
The profiles will also be searchable and will have the ability to send a Private Message from the top of the profile.
If you have comments or suggestions for this, feel free to add them on the "More Suggestions" board.
MB
**Private Messaging** New Module
Private messaging is an interesting feature. It takes the hassle out of remembering passwords and violating privacy. It also makes it nice to keep everything within the site. It works just like an email, but you never leave the site to read or send.
How it works - Currently, when reading a message, if you click on Private Msg, it will send a Private Message to whoever wrote the message you are replying to. The only person that sees the PM is the person it's being sent to. Eventually, you will be able to send a PM from within a person's profile also.
Please post comments/suggestions on the Suggestions Board.
Thanks,
Matt
Gman- Next/Previous Buttons look good. It will be a lot easier from now on. Keep up the good work.
The previous and next selections are now functioning.
I have also enabled the links to Groups, Categories and Boards when browsing the various sections. This should make browsing easier.
G.
iBox - Now Fully Editable
The iBox is now available to be edited at any time. This option automatically pops up to the "Chairman" of a particular board.
As you can imagine, this provides a wide array of possibilities not only for the boards, but for US to add options. We have other features we will be integrating into "Options" but feel free to use it how you would like.
My original thoughts are to use it to post: Daily Stock Picks that NOBODY misses, Keep up to date with the float of a stock, post an important Press Release, or to announce things to a team/board for any purpose.
If you have any suggestions, please feel free to add them to the Suggestions board.
Matt
You've got mail.

Matt-is the categorizing mostly what you are going to be focusing on this extended weekend? Don't forget what I said that would happen if the site isn't up my April 30. So you guys better hurry. Just kidding. I still can't believe Carpenter said today. I got cracked on by a teacher. I'm feelin pretty stinkin low.

Categories/Group Classification
We changed the format after we realized that we needed to categorize these thangs and thought it would be better to seperate Canadian, OTC, and Listed stocks for your browsing .
We will be adding categories for you to add your stocks into the correct ones. And move the ones currently there into the proper categories. So gives us a day or so to set those up...It loooks weeird right now, but it will be fixed to look right
FM
Ticker (within Adding A New Board)
The ticker will be used within the database to directly access a thread. You can make it a one-word "ticker" of whatever you want.
We just ask that you reserve the real stock tickers for the stock threads. Like Club Fatt, I gave it the ticker, "FATT"
When we implement the search/direct entrance system, you could simply type in "FATT" and it will take you to Club Fatt.
Obviously, we expect you to put in DELL for the Dell Computer thread.
Have at it!

New Module - New Boards/iBox
I won't bother explaining how the rest of the site works, coz most understand it. But I will explain this new feature we added yesterday.
You must be logged in to create a board. You may create a board within ANY category on ANY topic/stock.
The iBox is the box of explanation that is at the top of every thread. New features will be added to this iBox. It will be one of my favorite parts once complete. I'll explain that later.
Ciao!
