Material Technologies, Inc. Delivers EFS Test Platform to Air Force
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 2002--Material Technologies, Inc. (MATECH) (OTCBB:MTEY) today announced that it has delivered to the Materials Laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base a laboratory model of its Electrochemical Fatigue Sensor, or EFS, which has demonstrated a capability of detecting cracks in the tens of microns range in aircraft quality high strength aluminum, steel, and titanium alloys. (Note: ten microns equals four ten-thousands of an inch)
Development of the EFS is being continued to find similar size cracks in steel bridges, turbines, ships, and other actual structures in the field. It is expected that the EFS will provide a powerful capability by finding very small cracks in actual structures.
This announcement relates to a previous activity, the announcement of which is subject to government approval which has now been obtained.
