Feb.11: Greetings from Africa!

John, I know you are from Alberta, Canada. I am still in touch, I am working the 70/20 rotation. Every 70 days, I get 20 days off and a trip back to Calgary, Alberta. One year, I come back to Canada 4 times. - - - At the end of March, I will be back in Calgary and Toronto for short visits.

Next summer 2007, I am seriously considering coming back to Calgary for good. Hopefully by then, I will get my MBA from the Manchester Business School, U.K.. I am doing it through the distant education. - - - I used to work for Imperial Oil(Esso Resources), Petro-Canada, Talisman, and being an independent consultant. I graduated as a mechanical engineer, work mostly in the oil facilities and project management areas. I know there are many oil and gas project jobs in Canada for the next few years.

What are the good Canadian junior oil and gas plays? I expected to put some money in my self-directed RRSP this month. In RRSP, I am restricted, not allowed to buy OB/PK shares.

Last June, 2005, for my regular account, I managed to get some QOIL.OB when it dropped down to $0.10. Now trading around $0.37. It has some gas production from Acadia Project in Alberta.

I also managed to pick up some CNS.V shares for my RRSP account at C$0.62. The prices dropped after it hit a dry hole in India. Its 52 week high was $4.98. Now it is trading at around C$1.38. If it drops down to less than C$1.30, I may buy some more. It is a Calgary-based Canadian junior oil doing works in India. A former Canadian colleague of mine in Africa, used to work for them.

Have to take a look again.

Africa sounds interesting, you are missing out on a very mild winter-if one can miss out on a winter.

Are you still into Mystique? I think it is an interesting Canadian junior oil & gas company. It is debt-free, the production rates keep on increasing. - - - Couple of days ago, they announced the issuance of about $2.1 million of flow through shares at C$0.65 per share. Today, a PR indicated that it has been oversubscribed, the issue ceiling has been raised to $2.5 million - - - I bought mine at the average price of C$0.58.

I am a mechanical engineer from Calgary, Canada, working in the oil industry. Currently, I am working as a consultant in Africa.

Mystique Energy, Inc. Completes Initial Round of Drilling at Harmatten / Lochend
CALGARY, Jan. 18 /CNW/ - Mystique Energy, Inc. ("Mystique") (TSX Venture:
"MYS") announced that it has completed the drilling of the first five wells on
the previously announced development drilling farmout from Provident Energy
Ltd. in the Harmatten / Lochend area located northwest of Calgary.
Mystique's obligation under the terms of the farmout agreement was to
drill a minimum of three wells. Mystique has the option to drill additional
wells following the drilling of the three initial wells. In the first round of
drilling, Mystique drilled and cased a total of five wells. The drilling rig
was released from the fifth well on January 8th. Mystique paid 72% of the
costs of drilling and completing the five wells (equivalent to 3.6 gross
wells) to earn an average 36% working interest in the five wells (equivalent
to 1.8 net wells).
Four of the five wells have been completed. The fifth well is presently
being completed. Plans are being formulated to construct flowlines and equip
the wells to start production during the latter part of the first quarter. The
new production will be tied into existing facilities operated by Provident
Energy Ltd.
Mystique will be monitoring the performance of the wells and is
finalizing plans to continue drilling additional option wells starting in the
second quarter of 2005. There are 4480 acres of undrilled land remaining under
the terms of the farmout agreement.
According to Mystique president, Vic Luhowy, "We are pleased with the
drilling results to date. Preliminary indications are that reserves and
production from these wells will be equal to or better than we had expected.
These initial results provide us the encouragement to continue the farmout
drilling program later this year."

MYSTIQUE ENERGY, INC. ENTERS INTO A 124 SECTION FARM-IN ARRANGEMENT IN THE LOCHEND/WILDCAT HILLS OF SOUTHWESTERN ALBERTA

Mystique Energy Inc. has entered into a wide-area farm-in arrangement with a major, Calgary-based oil company, in the Lochend/Wildcat area, located northwest of Calgary.

The arrangement comprises two agreements. The first agreement (area A) covers 97 sections (62,080 acres) of the farmor's 100-per-cent-owned lands. Area A extends south and southwest from Lochend/Harmatten, where Mystique has drilled five successful Cardium oil wells, and is bounded by townships 26 to 30, ranges 2 to 5, west of the fifth meridian. Mystique has committed to drill six commitment wells prior to May, 2006, and has the right to drill option wells until May, 2007. Under the terms of the agreement, Mystique will pay 100 per cent of the drilling and completion costs of each well to earn a 60-per-cent working interest in each well and two sections of land, including the section on which the well is located.

The second agreement (area B) covers over 27 sections (17,440 acres) of the farmor's 100-per-cent-owned lands. Area B covers the Jumping Pound/Wildcat Hills area and is bounded by townships 25 to 27, ranges 5 to 7, west of the fifth meridian. Mystique has committed to drill three commitment wells prior to May, 2006, and has the right to drill option wells until May, 2007. Under the terms of the agreement, Mystique will pay 100 per cent of the drilling and completion costs of each well to earn a 65-per-cent working interest in each well and three sections of land, including the section on which the well is located.

The terms of the agreements allow Mystique to have access to the farmor's database in both areas. The database comprises approximately 1,560 kilometres of seismic data.

According to Mystique president, Vic Luhowy: "These agreements provide us the basis for strong exploration driven growth over the next two years and beyond. The area is an expansion of the drilling successes and lands currently under option in the Lochend/Harmatten area. The size of the farm-in and access to seismic data provide us with multiple opportunities to pursue conventional, multihorizon light oil and sweet natural gas prospects. This area is also one in which our vice-president of exploration, Alex Tworo, has considerable knowledge, experience and past successes."

Also noticed the same brokerage that has been accumulating for a while was an agreesive buyer.......good things to come??

The word is spreading that this one is a buy right now....... insiders have not been accumulating for nothing! The accumulation & large sized stock blocks that have traded lately is another point of interest

Now with the quiet period over with the closure of the private placement maybe we will see news or update as its been a while since MYS has has a significant PR.

Mystique Energy, Inc. ("Mystique") (TSX Venture: MYS) announces that the private placement previously announced on May 3, 2004 has been fully subscribed and closed. The placement comprised 7,624,671 units priced at $0.28 per unit resulting in net proceeds to Mystique of $2.08 million. Each unit consisted of one common Mystique share and one-half of a purchase warrant. Each purchase warrant will allow the holder to acquire a Mystique common share at $0.45 per share within two years of the date of issuing the purchase warrants. In addition, Mystique also issued 138,180 finder's warrants. Each finder's warrant will allow the holder to acquire a Mystique common share at $0.31 for a period of two years from the date of issuance of the finder's warrant. All applicable documents have been filed with the TSX Venture Exchange for approval.

As a result of the private placement, Mystique has approximately 24.3 million shares outstanding, 32.8 million shares fully diluted.
