hey thanks. I agree big caps can be fun: wait for a sell off to end then buy in: NCR gained $18/share over the course of 8 or so months; BCE was a good stock to play on the buyout rumours; CAT was both a good short and now a good long candidate.

I'll admit I'm playing with aurc.pk right now to get the portfolio above $10,000 where stocks above $1 or $10 make more of an impact on quick trades.

I'm trying to take a laid back approach to getting my million--every time I hurry I screw up and give back profits. It may make for a boring "game" for the audience--but I do have a few confirmed followers which comforts me: a few more millionaires in Canada and USA etc will hopefully become multi millionaires and citizens willing to help others--give to charities, etc. That's my goal: to show and prove to others that one million dollars is an attainable amount and that lottery tickets indeed are a waste of money.

I'm a fan of games and challenges. This board is dedicated to turning $3000 into $1 million! Taking an average of 10% gains on mostly "loonie plays" I've calculated that ideally, one can become a millionaire within 60 trades. (I'm not going to do the math for you: trust me, it works!) -quote.

They are good for "flipping" whole/or half a portfolio in dollar amount, for 5-10% on average. Which is pretty good, for only monitoring a single stock, and.......doing DD. =]

I recently was in NUAN.http://stockcharts.com/charts/candleglance.php?nuan|B @12.00/SHARE. It is over $16.00share in a number of months...and had all my funds in it. So, it can(one example) help liquidate large blocks of cash, without too much of a pps drop if need be, verses a penny that can go either direction on a whim.

For this board i sold my 30,000 shares@.14: discipline damn it! Eght I let 10% profits slip due to lack of discipline. Never again.

interesting, spdv did go up: well i can read charts but still volume was too low even though i'd only be flipping a few thousand shares.

i'm watching THLD at the moment. REV as well has a nice descending triangle gonna keep rising imho.

never break your rules. i'm a rebel and rebeled against logic on Friday that says "buy rumour sell news." Anyone reading this post that applies to all stocks--pinkies included. Now you see how i gave up 6% profit just for being an idiot.

i'm open minded:

Could take 10% "scalp" on a daytrade, a flip a swing trade or more.. Sometimes might be less. And if a strong bullish trend is beginning I'll ride the profits until the trend ends. So trades could last anywhere from 30 seconds to a few weeks or maybe longer--the point is to make a million bucks (sure within a year would be lovely:))

I'm happy with eght so far; almost sold the other day@$1.41 but earnings are to be released b4 market opening tuesday--i understand that to be a very bullish scenario. Normally, would sell on news, but if news is stellar, well it could be fun.

gtc sell set @$1.45 (+10%) willing to ride higher if bullish trend continues into next week's earnings' call.

i've got a few stocks on watch--tembec certainly will be in play someday--not yet mind you. I'm trying to get away from wasting time on other boards--some think i bash aurc for example (i don't, just am a realist with penny stocks)--and focus on my trading career. I really like lowtrade's approach: notice how infrequently he posts on ihub except on his own board? Probably because he's busy making money!

I love a challenge. I've got a system that so far has worked--mostly on nasdaq/tsx etc stocks trading at about $1+. Basically, I have a watch list of stocks (for this challenge, currently DESC, TBC.to, REV, BEN.to, NPWS--although volume is too low for my liking, even a few penny stocks i know well--aurc for example, and others.) Based on the chart, I take a guess at what price the bears will run out of steam (assuming the stock was recently sold down--my favourite scenario) or a bullish turnaround is confirmed; then i enter my picks into my investopedia.com trading simulator. Sometimes the RED hasn't stopped--thus my simulator takes the loss not my real money:) Then it always happens--a bullish trend begins (or even just a bounce), my simulator goes green i read message board sentiment (yahoo, ihub etc) briefly then if feel confident, I jump in with real cash. So while $1 stocks are my favourites, I am prepared to use penny stocks initially to boost capital quicker, and once into $200,000+ territory, will of course look at blue chips; all based on t/a.

My system has worked so far. Now i'm making it public via this board and to hopefully help others make some money and perhaps learn a few lessons myself.

Btw, see you're a T dot Resident yourself. Good to see another one here.

Welcome to the millionaires' club! Oops...we're not there...yet. (Although some of you might be working on your second or third or 20th million--doesn't matter: it's all just a game!)

I should have my first buy posted sometime this week. Decisions dang it.

btw, would like to add: since we'll all be focused on making money, we ideally won't be posting 24/7 will we?;)
