hey thanks. I agree big caps can be fun: wait for a sell off to end then buy in: NCR gained $18/share over the course of 8 or so months; BCE was a good stock to play on the buyout rumours; CAT was both a good short and now a good long candidate.
I'll admit I'm playing with aurc.pk right now to get the portfolio above $10,000 where stocks above $1 or $10 make more of an impact on quick trades.
I'm trying to take a laid back approach to getting my million--every time I hurry I screw up and give back profits. It may make for a boring "game" for the audience--but I do have a few confirmed followers which comforts me: a few more millionaires in Canada and USA etc will hopefully become multi millionaires and citizens willing to help others--give to charities, etc. That's my goal: to show and prove to others that one million dollars is an attainable amount and that lottery tickets indeed are a waste of money.
IMHO those who buy cheap tsx.v stocks (gold, oil, uranium) October-November 2008 will not regret doing so in 2012.
