or less i'm thinking 1's
Looks like profit taking is in the cards for the short term...If we see the 1.40's again in the next few weeks it will be a time to reload.
LDK $2.50 coming!! HOLD TIGHT
Shareholders did not approve the issue of warrants in connection with the settlement of an investor's holdings of LDK Solar's 4.75% convertible senior notes due April 2013.
I let my shares go. The pre-market sales were kind of a joke. Hey, the losses were not as much as the last quarter! That was a good thing. O well. I am moving on for the time being. Old wise men might say no one will ever make money in this solar industry.
Earnings not good or just a selloff after 14% rise yest.? Solar space one to watch with SCTY takin a hammering today cause of lockout expiration.. Nice pullback makes this sector even more interesting imo
Believe it or not I think turning this ship around has everything to do with cutting waste and balance the sheets. No doubt.
Can't believe how quiet this board is. Earnings due tomorrow. I think LDK has been in a bad spot due to the recessions all over the world. If companies had more money they would be putting up solar farms on the roof tops of their buildings to harness the sun power.
Maybe they are looking for a buy out? I'd take $5.00 a share any day IMO.
Loading.
140k strong
iver learned the games of the market
Pretty good call.
Did not see this coming today.
Opti
Solars are falling. LDK overbought timmmmmber
Same here. Looks very promising
LDK holding up surprisingly well under the bad news.
However, I've seen STP tank eventually on similar news.
I would stay bit cautious on long side, or possibly
take a small short position for few days.
LDK Solar Reports Partial Nonpayment For Convertible Notes - Quick Facts
By RTT News, April 16, 2013, 04:32:00 AM EDT Vote up loading
(RTTNews.com) - LDK Solar Co., Ltd. ( LDK ), vertically integrated manufacturer of photovoltaic products, announced that, due to a temporary cash-flow shortage, it was not able to make full payments to the holders of its 4.75% convertible senior notes due 2013 in an aggregate principal amount of US$23.79 million, plus interest, otherwise due and payable on their maturity date of April 15, 2013.
However, the company said it has privately and individually negotiated with two holders of such convertible notes in the aggregate principal amount of US$16.55 million, and reached settlement with them, shortly before the maturity date, through a partial payment in cash and effectively a loan facility to postpone the repayment of the remaining indebtedness.
The company noted that it had informed The Bank of New York Mellon, as trustee for the holders of the convertible notes, of such nonpayment.
The company said it is nevertheless ready and willing to discuss and reach a settlement for the remaining convertible notes.

Hey man,
All is well - thanks for asking. I hope u are the same or even better.
I am heavy in LDK - been doing very nice lately with BB stocks.
You think we will take out the previous high? - I think we will
Whats up Pharaoh. Long time sir. Hope all is well.
Well, sold it today when it couldn't hold the 200 MA. Tiny loss... guess I should have taken my tiny gain first thing in the morning. Oh well!
Ha! I was coming on here to post the same thing, LOL. Bounce off the 50 MA and close over the 200 MA. Decent volume too. I think a push back to $2 is coming, or at least back to the 20 MA. I waited til the close to buy shares...wanted to make sure it closed over the 200 MA first.
LDK Solar Receives $69M Financing for Mahong Plant
Jan 31 (Reuters) - LDK Solar Co Ltd said China Development Bank Corp approved a 440 million yuan ($69.8 million) loan, as the country's state-run banks continue to extend credit to its solar companies.
The loan will be used to finance LDK's investment in hydrochlorination technology for the Mahong Polysilicon Plant, in which U.S.-listed LDK Solar has invested more than 12 billion yuan to date.
Beijing has already provided billions of dollars in credit lines and other support to its solar industry through state-run banks, prompting the U.S. government to impose import duties.
LDK Solar plans to draw down on the loan as market conditions improve and the necessary equipment is ready for its use, the company said in a statement. ($1 = 6.2204 Chinese yuan)

LDK replaced CEO
http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-11-05/ldk-solar-ceo-replaced-after-stake-sale-to-china-state-investor
LDK Solar Co. (LDK), the second-biggest maker of solar wafers, replaced its chief executive officer and hired five other board members including a provincial People’s Congress official. The company’s American depository receipts climbed before erasing their gains.
Chief Operating Officer Tong Xingxue takes over immediately as CEO from Peng Xiaofeng, who stays as chairman, LDK said today in a statement. The other new board members include independent directors Wang Ceng, who has served as a financial consultant for Xinyu city government, and Wu Shian, a member of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Jiangxi.
Peng will stay to guide “LDK Solar’s strategic direction and developing partners and other key relationships,” the company said.
Just saw the news about CEO selling more shares.
Good thing I got out quick with just a penny loss.
Still watching for re-entry.
In @$1.55 with tight stop limit.
Actually, got out at $1.54...will try to enter at $1.50 again.
Solar installations to grow 18+% annually through 2020

More and more good Solar news are coming...
I believe Solars bottomed in 2012, and 2013 is the beginning
of their rebounding years.
Solar Market to Rise 22 Percent in 2013, Deutsche Bank Predicts
The global solar market will rise 22 percent to 33.4 gigawatts in 2013, with gains in China, the U.S. and India more than offsetting declines in Germany and Italy, Deutsche Bank predicted today in a note to investors.
The Chinese market, the second biggest in 2012, will more than double to 10 gigawatts this year from 4 gigawatts last year, Deutsche said. The Indian market will more than triple to 4 gigawatts and the U.S. will rise 29 percent to 4.5 gigawatts, the bank’s analysts, led by Vishal Shah, predicted in the note.
Those gains will help offset declines in European markets, led by Germany and Italy, where demand will be cut in half, according to the bank. Those two countries were the biggest and third-largest markets in 2012, it said.

I'm not an expert but im looking on the long term (weekly) if it can break above the 50MA and stay above things can get realy exciting!
Keep bouncin' baby!
Got stopped out @2.05, Back in @1.78
Loving this volatility...now I'm up 132% in 4 weeks.
Nice recovery today. I still think LDK can double from here. It would still be well below its 52 week high if it did.
This one may jump out of the gate today with the news that came out.
That would about $300M in new subsidies!!!
Nice find...
