What a bounce and it's just the beginning of a 4-6 week run to new ATH's!

Outstanding charting and analysis - thank you so much for this technical insight! Today we are starting to see the beginning of a nice run over the next 5-6 weeks - if we start see daily trading volume increase to 2-3m Vol p/day we're off the the races for a nice 25% ROI
Again, if Shanghai keeps ascending to the Red Line as shown,
The S&P will also keep on climbing and Ivanhoe will SOAR.
Alcoa may be acting as a useful signpost....Its' $50 level has been putting on quite a show

That's good to know ! Thanks very much. Appreciate it. Cheers !
Only thing is : The Big Boys have been selling off like crazy and feature quite similar charts....
5 months earlier :
BHP today :
1 month earlier (now at 54)
Meanwhile, THIS is The Great Conundrum :
If the S&P starts to "correct" and pull back from here (possibly even "crash").....
The decline in these producers may not be over YET !
If the S&P corrects, this Ivanhoe $8 wouldn't hold !....
Why, it'd probably drop down to around 7 or even 6 !
The S&P simply NEEDS to keep on climbing / A Global Risk-On Environment will have to persist !
Am not ruling that out : Have got targets in sight :
Shanghai Chinas' Red Line is one
Japans' 40,000, another ;
July 2020
1 year later....It's been well on its' way !
The whole thing's a clusterF&*k - That's all I can say....
Am probably just gonna have to TRUST that they'll pull it all off.
So, thanks once AGAIN for your timely Ivanhoe info.....
Guess I'll just have to buy it (some) with a protective stop loss in !
And/or maybe perhaps do some hedging with some options ?
Anyways, EXCITING TIMES !.....Closed on Friday at 444

Climate change is causing Kariba to dry up
The world’s largest man-made reservoir, that of the Kariba Dam –
which has provided electricity to Zambia and Zimbabwe for over five
decades – hasn’t been spared by the droughts.
According to the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA), in recent months the
inflows of water from the Zambezi River that feed it have dwindled
to a third compared to a year ago.

Well I dunno how this (or that) has anything to do with anything but....might as well just toss it in.
By the way - Have U seen how well that Newcore has done today ?
So I knows all about workin' w them cranes (and about the construction of concrete (rebar) slabs)

Quite the undertaking...
I was one of 10 carpenter foremen on a 3 year geo thermal power plant development in the Mojave desert back in the late 80's...lots of precision, production concrete work with an Armada of heavy equipment.
Lining up cranes for heavy lifts and hard to reach concrete pours had to be scheduled up to a week in advance.
Another life for sure.
Politics of Congo,of course, remains high risk...

From May 27th
Canada’s Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN), which announced the beginning of copper concentrate production at its Kamoa-Kakula project in the DRC this week, said on Friday it has already filed an application for a waiver and is in talks with the mines minister.

Meanwhile, elsewhere ?

Utilization of Aluminum graphite batteries would eliminate the need for 90 pounds of copper in each EV

Hiya say - Might this mean something ?

I'm still holding - long IVN production coming along with tons of PR's
Wow....eh ? Ha......Man.
Just 2 1/2 minutes in and I'm like.....
"Awwww man....I've seen enough - That's all I need to know......"
'Course that's the whole copper / commodities sector story as well, isn't it - where even a Taseko has been performing admirably....
Has been as high as 2.63 and is now at 2.15
Both been doing well because of
And because of
Utilizing this as a Resources Barometer ?......
I'm imagining that imminently we'll be provided with some some guidance
The EV sector enthusiasm has chilled off considerably

Anyways, looking good / thanks for the reminders !
April 6, 2021
Kamoa-Kakula shatters previous production records, mining 400,000 tonnes of ore grading 5.36% copper in March, including 100,000 tonnes grading 8.70% copper from the centre of the Kakula Mine
Pre-production ore stockpiles hold 2.56 million tonnes grading 4.60% copper, containing more than 117,000 tonnes of copper
Hi guys, but hey I'm just trying to go by this (50yr) chart....
Which suggest (to me) that the metal may be encountering Resistance....
So but please lemme know whether you imagine such plausible !
COPPER from 2008
Ivanhoe also from 2008
Remarkable similarity, no ?
For the
Worlds' (almost) most greatest copper producer
Not to mention the wiring harnesses and electric motor windings
Tremendous amounts of copper required in electric vehicles
futr
Looks like a US$575m funding of 2.5% (5yr) Notes with conversion price of $9.31 p/sh. Funds could go to accelerate exploration (drilling) on Western Forelands project or to build a smelter on Kamoa - could be a 12-15 stock coming July especially with Cu @ $4.11 p/pound - i think we are entering a bull market for copper with the world going electric and all the major car manufacturers building gigafactories all around the world, they will need batteries and batteries need copper
- Copper is the way!
Meant to get back to you - Thanks for the heads up
Is that what generated the volume spike ?
So would that be a (kind of) Preferred shares issuance then (with something like a 2.5 % yield) and a conversion price of $9.31 ?
Or simply a different type of offering
$575m Notes @ 2.5% 5 yrs conversion price $9.31
At any rate it seems to have affected the share price to where the trend line's come back into play....
Which is fine (actually terrific) as long as we don't experience a broad market sell off
Historically low interest rates promised for 3 more years........hmmmmm
Guess I should go and read up on the offering....See if I can figure out how it is working
$575m Notes @ 2.5% 5 yrs conversion price $9.31 means blue skies ahead for IVN!
Pretty-darned awesome here still alright (this glorious copper producer)
Since, potentially it's merely just another dip
Like this one in Feb.
I dunno
So frickin' relentless (the whole darned works).................
With Financials and Semi-Conductors - still 2 Principle S&P Drivers
Therefore, having said THAT, we remain watching this

Ivanhoe is nicely cutting through overhead resistance, a knife through butter. Shorts will panic here at some point.
Is Kipushi worth far more than Ivanhoe's current market cap of 2.5 Billion? I think yes yes yes! Looking for around 225 MILLION (our end) net profit annually. 8.5 years, plus they quit drilling. It is open at depth. Somebody smart on the other board said that the richest deposits have the highest odds of being expanded through later step out drilling. Kipushi is the richest deposit on earth, lb for lb. I can see why we did not do that: it is very deep, there were probably practical problems back then, and the company had two other TIER ONE fish to fry, in Platreef and Kamoa. I think the odds are terrific it is larger than what we now have defined. Time will tell, but this will be in 6 or 7 years from now but still, this is why I do not want us to sell this daughter. Zinc is going to get red hot in the next couple years; it is already in global deficit.
A 15 PE, and this may seem high but not based on the future I forsee for industrial metals. If Zinc is $1.60 U.S in 2 years, when the mine is a steady state production, the net profit will be perhaps $325 Million. A PE of 15 = $5 billion dollar market cap. Ivanhoe's cap is now 2.5 billion....I know I know, all of this is the future. Not now. But still, I love our odds and this means Kamoa and Kakula and Platreef are FREE. Or close to it. As Ursusbrumae said in one of his older posts, in the future metals bull market, 25 billion dollar market caps will be cheap. BULLISH
great chart! Bottom probably is in. Today's volume a great sign.
.pick this up at the two minute mark....
