Me too...hope it all ends badly for the shorts SOON!!
I AM SICK AND TIRED OF SHORTS, PROFIT TAKING, and so called "HEALTHY CORRECTIONS", and the like!

It could be. IMO volume is seemingly low for midday. Maybe just some profit taking going on.
Seems like we're having a battle around the 100 number.
HOUSTON....thank you for the docking services...add a 50% tip for the dock boys.....please have a perfect crown royal manhattan waiting for me at the bar...so i can toast all my IDC BOYS!!!......................................................and then we'll talk about DA SHORTZ after 2 more
scooby5, up 380K
Short interest is UP? Wow!
Well we finally closed above $100. Go IDCC. Stay strong all.
if we are successfull...they wont just pack up and leave...maybe your right......they're going to have to get a real beating!!
Not enough to really teach them a lesson and send them packing!
IMHO - Tomcat
19 points in 15 days....thats a little squeeezeeee!!
Teecee,
If past is prologue, the short interest probably went up!
I don't think the real short squeeze has happened yet!

Teecee56, How do you explain Goldman Sachs $1.5 B investment ?
we should be getting a short interest report today or tommorrow....very interested in seeing what the flows were between 11/1 and 11/15....the price went from 76 to 95 in that period!!
the holdings at gs...are most likely held at goldman sachs asset management....i wouldnt think that they own a large portion of the convertible issue....that deal was done mostly by exchanging the new convertbles with the holders of the old convertibles[270myn]
Vegas when GS advertises IDCC then we know they are looking out for the company, share holders and themselves.
It is very possible that Goldman Sachs has a potential $1.5 B investment in IDCC. If they bought all the 2024 and 2027 bonds with all the warrants it would cost approximately $600 M . They then would have to pay approximately $850M to exercise the warrants. They also own 418K shares. Upon exercise of everything they would own 40+% of IDCC. Come June 2024 they should have to file a 10% ownership, but not until then....
Whoever’s wrote the report stating billions instead of millions needs to proof read before publishing. Then again how many folks saw the report before it was published.
If anyone is punished or fired for the mistake it will be the typist or maybe even the janitor. God forbid a muckety muck make a mistake.
Agreed. It should be million, not billion.
Am I missing something here:
618,450 x $85.86 (Closing price on Aug. 4th) = $53,100,117 Where do they get the word BILLION?
As of 4th August 2023, Shannon River Fund Management’s top holding is 618,450 shares of Interdigital Inc currently worth over $59.7 billion and making up 14.9% of the portfolio value.
Here's a fun tool (but I can't attest to it's accuracy): https://hedgefollow.com/stocks/IDCC
I'm intrigued by the "Option Holders" info. Use at your own discretion.
the number is a mistake
If Goldman owns all the bonds and all the warrants they could get in round numbers 16M shares. They would need to convert and pay approximately $850M for the warrants. Of course there are time restrictions on the 2027 bonds, but I can not find the terms on the warrants.

10. InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC)
Goldman Sachs' Q3 2023 Investment Value: $1.5 billion
InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) is a small software company that provides its products to the consumer electronics and communications industries. The firm's shares have been on a tear this year, as they have gained 76% on the market year to date.
Insider Monkey dug through 910 hedge funds for their second quarter of 2023 shareholdings and discovered 24 InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) shareholders. In the third quarter, its largest hedge fund shareholder was Spencer M. Waxman's Shannon River Fund Management since it owned 642,265 shares that were worth $51.5 million.
teecee56, the only way Goldman Sachs could have anywhere near that investment would be that they own all the bonds and all the warrants... Even with that they can not have $1.5B
also noted....the dollar value of the goldman sachs investment in idcc of 1.5byn...is comparable to the dollar value of the investments in the other much much larger companies
saw that...the other companies on that list were much larger than idc
Am I dreaming or did I just read an article that Goldman Sachs has IDCC rated 10th best stock??? This could light the fuse...
Happy thanksgiving one and all from my family to each of yours. This is being sent from Times Square in the theater district. Broadway today and turkey tomorrow.
Stay well one and all. Go IDCC
Loop, thanks for all your thoughts about IDCC over those many years. IMO, patience for all long timers has turned into a positive experience with even more potential to come in the long term future considering management’s comments in the last conference call about potential for future revenue from live streaming in 2027. That revenue could be significant. IMO I also have to say IDCC has and continues to change for the better since Liren Chen took over. I am thankful for that too. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
oh oh oh...i think its squeeezing out to the upside...i hope it floats!!!
volume way low today...barely 100k at 3.05....seems to me they are going to have to squeeze out at least another 100k in the last hour...to the upside or downside?
I am the last man standing in the initial group that decided to invest in IDCC. I have been following the company and many of you for 38 years. There have been many ups and downs along the way, but the experience has been a positive for me. I wish you and yours a happy thanksgiving and hope we all have many more.

5 o’clock Charlie got up early this morning and had 5 (shares) direct hits on the $100 target in Pre-Market.
DAM...5 o'clock charlie....your bomb fell short....I think you need a new propeller!!
I like the company that IDCC is keeping. It should bode well for our future. Houston so you read me?
“the election of vice chairs Dr. Ayman Naguib from Apple, Dr. Richard Stirling Gallacher from Huawei, and Prof. Henk Wymeersch from Chalmers University. More than 80 representatives from across industry and academia participated in the kickoff meeting in Sophia Antipolis, France, and collectively agreed that the ISG will establish the technical foundation for the development of ISAC technology and its standardization in 6G.”
Houston we are experiencing turbulence every time we approach the $100 flight ✈️ path.

Moderators |
The principle objective of the iHub message boards is to maintain a high signal-to-noise ratio while encouraging the exchange of all points of view. Moderators are an important part of making our message boards beneficial to all participants and readers. Moderating a stock-specific board, particularly those which are controversial due to many divergent perspectives or newsworthy events, can be a challenging and time consuming role. The time and effort expended by our Members who volunteer their time to fulfill this valuable role is greatly appreciated and our Moderators should be treated with the respect they deserve for donating their time and efforts to the collective benefit of our community. Company-specific boards are the lifeblood of iHub. The Moderators' role is simple to define for company-specific boards:
To promote the civil exchange of on-topic dialog that complies with the Investors Hub Terms of Service. |
It is no accident that neither the above definition nor the Terms of Service makes mention of investment sentiment, shareholder interests, or considerations such as "the good of the company." That is because the TOS are blind to investment sentiment. In order to be a successful Moderator and conduct a board within the scope of iHub's TOS, it is critical that Moderators distinguish their role and privileges as Moderator from their role and privileges as a posting Member. That is often easier said than done, particularly on active boards with both the typical and atypical controversy.
If a post does not fit into any of these categories the post must not be removed.
Some posts fall into a "gray" area and are borderline depending upon the way they are read. As inclusion is favored over exclusion, please err or the side of not removing posts if they are not clear violations. Please use the "Report TOS Violation" button at the bottom of the post with your comments if the post is not egregious in nature and Site Admins will review the message.
Bottom line: Please use your best judgment in removing posts based on the above guidelines and let us know if you have any questions or need any help. And keep in mind that post removal and non-removal have to be given the same emphasis. It is not permissible, for example, to remove a post that calls someone a "pumper" while not also removing a post that calls someone a "basher". Investor sentiment, including your own, can NOT be part of the removal/non-removal decision.
