I see bachers as a good sign. Hope the wise boardmembers of sglb understand, this is what happens when the pps drops before it goes up. Don't sell because of wave makers. Most of us are long. We should stick with our knowledge. Same as mtls. It takes time...not everybody understands the future. I thought people would gain understanding faster...doesn't mean we are wrong. Your thought?

Good evening Steve. No "switching" for me. I've been trading/accumulating all over the sector for quite some time. I've bought high and I've bought low.
I'm glad to be here (and there).
MTLS----GL!
Or the sglb board becomes to yahoo?
Question: i see the same names popping up as before on the sglb board. Are you guy's switching because of doubts in sglb?
trouble is, the volume isn't following though. 3 large buys this morning, but lower than average volume overall. I can't figure it out.
I could see GE or IBM putting a bid out there. IMO they won't sell because as you said they have invested many years in development. Either way, this stock is slowly gaining traction.
GL
I too agree. No need for a huge marketing campaign but to begin Brand awareness especially in the U.S. would be great for the continued and future adoption of mtls software and technologies
Strictly gut, no proof whatsoever, but I think we are on somebody's radar. I don't mean individual or institutional investors, I mean big company, like GE. I could just see them putting this into the GE Store concept. Thing is, this company really is closely held, and it would not fly unless it was a very good deal for current owners, who have invested many years in developing this company.
IMO with all of Materialise's investment in sales in marketing they should be making more commercials. Consumers have no idea of their medical innovations. It takes time to build a rapport with baby boomers , but that relationship could put a ton of upward pressure on the surgeons/hospitals.
Yeah but you still chose the right company with plenty of time to avg down to a great price. Great week with more to follow.
GL
I waited one year before the ipo to get in. To early as usual in my case. Looks like more start to understand the bigger picture.
solid three months... this is a sleeping giant. This board is evidence.
GL
I would say maybe 5% of US manufacturing employees alone understand what is going to happen with their careers as this industry picks up. I dont think you got into too early the ipo was a good range to buy in. Just a lack of upfront interest. MTLS needs a few more quarters. I did the same with SGLB, and to a worse extent, a biopharm stock. I think reluctance to sell can be a good thing though (if you know you're right). I am learning that things in general are moving forward at an exponential rate. I saw a Whitney Tilson interview from 2013 and the avg trading time was around six months. Over time , I think the shorting crowd grew ( ie sglb) but at least it gives us some good buying opportunities.
I am new to this but I am so sure about these two co's. Hope I'm right.
GL
I am down big. Half to be exact. But i am afraid to sell. I am usualy to soon picking up the future. Sglb mtls amrn etc
Dollar is higher then the euro. Euro co in dollarland. Most people do not understand the value of 3d software regarding the future.
Have you seen the news about the sea turtle? This has to be one of the most undervalued stocks in the world right now. I just think EU economy is holding us back.
What's your take?
GL
I just meant they are still building the relationships with US hospitals and there wis a bit of a learning curve for the Mimics software. I don't think their value to the medical field has been realized based on the price. Good times ahead....
FYI Trimble and Materialise News Out!!!
GL
Remember 1000 employees world wide. This is not a start-up. Only negative point...belgium co. They are to modest.
Yeah I got in way too soon as well. It hit my portfolio in a negative way but the end result should be very positive. They are just setting up their sales staff in the US. Materialise is the only company this relevant in 3-d printing and medical innovation. Their books look good too once R&D/S&M expenses pay off.
GL
And at the entry point. I thought everybody would understand the position mtls has and what it means for the next ten years. I was wrong...people do not understand. Mtls & sglb. I am long...
Some people, like me, partially trade to make a profit, of course, but also invest to be part of something interesting or potentially important to mankind. I made a lot of money because I was one of the first (public) in on Organovo, after I eavesdropped on the TED talks while catering (I get a lot of good info. eavesdropping at parties and events) There is such a thing as ethical investing, supporting something you want to see succeed. My father died of cancer and I'll never buy a tobacco stock no matter how they "deversify", loved that CVS stopped retailing
I bought to soon. @10
Very nice. What a great opportunity.
I was in before mtls went public last year...
Steve, I think you were here before I arrived. I had my eye on the door and you'd already come in, taken a chair and said, "My name is Steve and I am a Materialiser" (Hi, Steve...)
Good wishes to you, also. Nice response to the report.
Oh you are clever. I am a follower of yours. You hang out at all the same dive boards that I do and I find that you have a decent amount of skepticism compared to the "all is sunny" crowd. Good luck here, there and everywhere.
Come on, give me a laugh at least. It was the best reposte I could come up with and i felt myself so clever..
The parable doesn't go into that kind of detail. I do know that you would be hard pressed to find a cow that isn't giving birth each spring. Hopefully Materialise will show its potential over time and continue these growth rates.
lol. Did the female cows say, "bullshit?"
Indeed. I am more focused on the five/ten year horizon here but am encouraged by their growth and strategic position. I think 3D is like the old story about the old bull and the young bull watching over the herd below. The young bull says "I'm going to run down there and mate with the pretty one." The old bull says "I'm going to walk down there and mate with them all."
Well then it is a good day for you too. Popped and dropped, but nice place for an add.
I'm still here and have managed to double my MTLS position while in the 6's
I've been here since June of 2014.
so from sglb followers, it's only tyfoidhana, dadx4, hawk and me here? anyone else from that board already invested or bot today? nice numbers out. i hope sigma will report well tomorrow
The sector got hammered , the broader markets are down and MTLS closed above the 50 MDA. Up or down I will be sitting on this one for a long time to come.
Lightened up. Gonna wait this storm out. Market looks really crappy out there.
I think we're getting knocked down based on the dismal sector, leading us aground by SSYS. Just when we were stating to see a bit of daylight, too.
Didn't notice the spike but were still above the 50
Were above the 50 DMA I had to add a bit today.
What do you guys think, is this headed upwards from here? Entire 3-d hardware sector is still looking mighty grim.
