Good timing. The whole sector is on fire today.

Jab, I think you'll do well in the sector. Money is flowing and the prospects work whether the geopolitical spectrum is running hot or not. The sector even enjoys lot of support from the present admin.
Further, materials users of aluminum and steel enjoy a sort of favored industry status in the form of reduced tariffs.
Pick 2 or 3 companies with great fundamentals and you'll be off and running... As it sounds you are already.
Even a day like today that can rattle investors is nothing for aerospace. It seems whenever the markets get a tad wonky, aero and defence emerge first, ready to move higher fairly quickly.

I just recently get interested in aerospace because of the current geopolitical climate. I recently put money into FSDAX and HWM is in it, which attracted me to the stock. Also, GE and RTX which are highlighted in this article.

Slojab, personally I prefer the prospects for Aerospace more than I do for AI, Industry and most tech and biopharm.i just wish more of the private aerospace firms would go public or at least become part of some ETF.

There is a Spac that just opened called Kochav Acquisitions who wants to bring a few of those private enterprises public. KCHVU, I think.

What is interesting about it, at least to me is that most IPOs after a week or so, often drop sharply in value. This one has not. That does not necessarily mean anything at all, but it has caught my eye.

I believe that the informed investor who favors longer term objectives will do exceptionally well with companies with strong ties to the military, the IC, and Special Access Projects who are largely based around Washington DC and environs. Companies like Howmet, Carpenter, Lockheed, Harris, Raytheon, Northrup Grumman, intuitive machines, Firefly, etc., are going to have some stunning numbers.
Some will be bought out. a few will go private.

Wise to pay very close attention to companies in the middle east, also Italy, Germany, Australia, Japan,Norway to name a few. I'm rambling, but I'm certain you get the point.

The whole industry has been doing very well of late.

HWM, as well as RTX, BA, GE, TDG ........ the aerospace sector is where to be.

Judging by today's appreciation I would conclude a number of people read that article and hit home.
The one point I wish that had been made, not favoring either company , is that the commercial space race is just starting to ignite. These sorts of companies stand to make stunning moves not so far down the road as numerous to smaller companies throw their hats in the ring.

M-ea$y, Don't know if you still have a position here but I'm willing to stir my tea leaves to predict by Columbus Day, some of your shares here are 4- baggers.
The long-term outlook combined with back orders and an intensifying space race makes this look Overweight( which equals " beast mode" ) for the foreseeable future.

The train kept A- rollin' all night long.

There are only 2 or 3 Aerospace companies that can rival this, but not with the same consistency. HWM cannot kick out product fast enough and their technical process is world- class. I have learned a lot about and because of this company.

Well, since I have the right boots and a fine pair of pom Poms, let me add this:
$Despite the market being as it is of late, Howmet has closed green 10 out of the last 10 sessions. Not half shabby. Several new high prices along the way of the last 12 earnings calls, all but 2 exceeded analysts expectations. The other 2 were a tie, no loss.

Howmet is a BEAST.

Oh, I hope a buyout doesn't happen. I like HWM running just the way it is. I like their position in the sector. I love how well- connected they are, and their business model.
I could see them closing out the year at $185 or better . Everytime the overall indices get soft, it's the Aerospace guys like these who emerge first.

Oh, yes. Wanted to mention that this company in the past year has repurchased nearly 2M shares at market. That translates to roughly $1/4 B . This directly adds value to the shares at large..like mine .

Well, since I'm feeling like a Happy Vulcan today and nobody reads this board anyway I am going to gloat .
HWM hit a new high price today : $150.49, partially because their quarter on quarter estimates Q1 '24 to Q1 '25 exceeded market expectations by $0.08/ share, this despite the insanity imposed upon the market by our king, trump.
In 7 months, that represents a 30% return. For a sector that was predicted to be pretty soft for the first two quarters, I'm good with this. One full year could yield 50% return. Not half shabby.

The infrastructure for local space is about to start being built. Companies like this one will play a huge role here. They have been gearing up for years and now that the private sector can get employees to and from worksites anywhere from EARTH to the moon and beyond ...and at least eight governments have viable space programs, we are at the ground floor.

After AI, then comes Spiritual Science.
