The lesson from HWICQ: to avoid the bad action from SEC/FINRA on a "Q" stock, the safetest way is only investing into those Newly bankrupt stocks which have only filed the CH11 or CH7 within two years!

I'll try and look it up online and see what I find. My question is whether there is still an ongoing case that the funds were going to. Under normal trading, proceeds from buys go to the companies which is normal but in this case we haven't heard a word from the Co in ages so it makes me wonder where $ went to now that they cancelled the ticker. I'll keep checking, hunting, making calls and find out.

Yes, we all here got to know each other the past year with posts. I feel bad for everyone that has lost money. Horrible.

I'm sure everyone knows but the losses are tax deductible based on the original purchase price paid up to a maximum loss on taxes of $3,000 per year. If a person by chance had more than that invested you can carryover the loss above $3000 to the following tax year.

Based on the normal income like most of us are at, each $1000 loss deducted is about 14% or $140.00 or about $14 per $100 lost. It's something but not all of what was invested.

I know the trustee's name that was in charge of it since it went BK but not the attorney that handled it..

What a bummer this happened to us. I was holding almost 2 million just waiting for that next run. Ouch!!!! The only shares I ever sold over the year I was holding was 200k @ .0080 on the last run we had to a penny.. I was lucky enough to get most of my shares in the trips and teens when the ticker first woke up last year... Still down a bundle on it though!!

Do we have the Attorney's name which was representing them on the bankruptcy case? I spoke with Etrade at length and he stated that typically the money from purchases goes to the courts rather than company officials with the intention of paying creditors etc..... but couldn't say for sure. He did state thought that market makers also lose out for any shares they may have had in their "inventory" that they had paid for.

Good question. I've googled it to see and didn't find a definite answer. I'm going to call Etrade and ask them. Someone got the money!

On May 2,2012 HWI Global liquidated the company to the creditors. The stock survived 4 more years, probably allowing the creditors to recover some money from selling their 53 million shares. Since then only public shareholders have been trading among themselves since the company and the creditors no longer had any vested interest in HWICQ shares.

With no further filings to the SEC after May 2,2012 FINRA finally deleted the symbol today.

The ONLY due diligence necessary to know that HWICQ had ZERO value to public shareholders was 4 years ago.

Me too. I was an hour or so later getting on this morning and didn't see what things were on the bid or ask. I suspect it may have been a buy at 0025 and they filled it at 0022 as was the 100 share one at 0025 and they filled it at 00241.

I was late checking in so I didn't see it personally, but it shows up as green on the trade list, so it must have been on the ask. I'm more curious about the 100 share trade at 0.0024 that shows as green when 0.0025 was the ask.

With as easy as this one moves that would be way less then a million volume day. Million a day volume is nothing for most tickers out there. HWICQ has so much potential if we can get people interested in it. No company selling and the small float is a huge advantage for us traders then most tickers out there.
