New Trench and Pit Data Expands High-Grade Zone at Sacre-Coeur's Northwest Gold Project; 12 Meters Average 7.90 g/t Au
Tuesday February 26, 3:01 am ET
VANCOUVER, BC--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 26, 2008 -- SACRE-COEUR MINERALS, LTD. (the "Company") (CDNX:SCM.V - News) (Frankfurt:S5N.F - News) is pleased to report that further results from its trenching and test pitting program recently conducted on a portion of its Northwest Project area in Guyana continue to expand and demonstrate continuity of the zone of near surface high-grade gold mineralization. Test pit NWHTP yielded 12 meters averaging 7.90 g/t Au, which include a vein with true width of 0.8 meters grading 21.41 g/t Au hosted in mineralized country rock.
As reported previously, the Company is conducting a mechanized trenching program to further test the anomalous area identified by soil sampling in its Northwest Project area. Complete assays for four additional trenches and partial assays for seven trenches and one test pit have been received. Because the mineralized zones are sub-horizontal, trench and pit channel samples were oriented near vertical (normal to the dip of the mineralized structures) at sample stations located at approximate one meter intervals along the trenches. Selected results from some intersections of the mineralized zone are presented in the table below.

Sacre-Coeur extends mineralization at Million Mountain
2006-12-20 14:53 ET - News Release
Mr. Irwin Olian reports
TRENCHING AT MILLION MOUNTAIN CONFIRMS CONTINUATION OF MINERALIZED ZONE TO THE SOUTH; REFINED GEOLOGIC MODEL HIGHLY ENCOURAGING
Sacre-Coeur Minerals Ltd. has made major strides in refining the geologic model controlling gold mineralization at its Million Mountain project located in the Puruni River region of Guyana. Recent trenching has now expanded the mineralized zone approximately 325 metres to the south of the initial discovery holes reported in March, 2006. Previous trenching at Tiger Creek to the east and in the recently discovered Western zone had revealed extensions of the zone along the northwest-southeast-trending strike. Assays for 21 drill holes are pending, owing to major backlog at the company's outside assay laboratories. Assays for these holes are expected shortly and will be reported as soon as practicable.
Based on previously reported drilling and trenching, it was believed that gold mineralization at Million Mountain was hosted both in northwest-striking shear boundaries and in west-southwest-striking tensional features, which formed a stockwork of veinlets between shear boundaries. It was believed that the host rocks were a series of thrust slabs related to the Million Mountain break, a major thrust feature striking 252 degrees and dipping approximately 37 degrees to the north-northwest and that the dominant vein set in the tensional zone approximated the attitude of the Million Mountain break.
Recent work undertaken by the company's team, which now includes three new senior exploration geologists, as well as core drilling at several different orientations, and a major trenching and surface mapping program consisting of over 1,400 m of deep trenching, with all data three-dimensionally modelled using Vulcan Geomodeler, has confirmed the basic notion of mineralized shears bounding a tensional zone consisting of stockwork-like veins. However, several important refinements have emerged:
the host rock for gold mineralization is an in-place intrusive body of brittle quartz monzonite (previously characterized as felsite or leucogranite), over which slabs of a variety of barren rock types were thrust from the north-northwest postmineralization. These trust slabs have now largely weathered back on the south flank of Million Mountain ridge, leaving the underlying mineralized quartz monzonite nearly exposed under a thin overburden of detritus remaining from the weathered thrust slabs;
the quartz monzonite host has been sheared by north-west-trending shears and fractured in tension with major tensional features, striking approximately 240 degrees and dipping approximately 80 degrees to the southeast. The tensional features noted to date are generally spaced 10 m apart or less;
the tensional features in the quartz monzonite are generally homogenous, angular breccia zones persisting more than 100 m along strike and ranging in width to 10 m or more. These breccia zones are mineralized with quartz-pyrite and gold intrusions, with pyrite content ranging to 20 per cent in certain instances locally, but generally great than 5 per cent pyrite in these breccia zones; and
the in situ quartz monzonite between zones of brecciation also contains very fine-grained disseminated pyrite, ranging to 1 to 2 per cent along with attendant disseminated gold.
The trenching program, while aimed at exposing in situ geologic units for surface mapping, has also served to expand the mineralized zone well beyond previous limits. Trench TR1006 and trench TR1106 both cut saprolite and kaolinite, after quartz monzonite, which contained mineralized quartz veins suggestive of the tenor encountered in drilling into unweathered rock. Trench TR1106 is positioned 325 m to the south of the original discovery holes reported in March of 2006. The results of these trenches are as follows.

Despite its highly weathered state near surface, discovery in trenches of the chemical remnants of the mineralized quartz monzonite host rock, continuing to the south more than 300 m, is very encouraging, with respect to potential continuous mineralization at depth, as the drilling program progresses further to the south.
Recent drilling has advanced to the west-northwest of the original discovery holes for a distance of more than 270 m. As reported above, assays for 21 additional drill holes in this area are pending, due to laboratory backlog, but are expected very soon. Observation of the core during the logging process has confirmed long intervals of mineralized quartz monzonite, including numerous mineralized brecciated zones consistent with the dilational features discussed above.
Following the holiday shutdown, trenching and drilling will resume in earnest, commencing the first week in January to continue to test the resource area to the south and to the west along the south side of the Million Mountain break thrust. With the clearer understanding of the geologic model and with the new surface exposures of mineralized quartz monzonite revealed in trenching, drilling is now proceeding on a 24-hour-a-day-seven-day-a-week basis, with an additional drill rig contemplated to be added to the program later in the first quarter of 2007.
The company's exploration program is overseen by Gregory B. Sparks, PEng, senior vice-president mining and exploration for the company, along with the project geologic staff, including Jack King, senior project geologist, Alan Davies, PEng, senior project geologist, Joseph Calpito, senior project geologist, and Thomas Clarke, project geologist, with assistance from Dr. Hendrikus Aarden, PGeo, senior geologic consultant. Mr. Sparks, Mr. Davies and Dr. Aarden are all qualified persons under NI 43-101. Ardito Martohardjono, a director of the company and laboratory specialist, has provided assistance establishing lab protocols, and sample handling and assay quality control.

Westchester Resources Inc. and Guyana Goldfields Inc. have entered into a letter of intent dated Oct. 19, 2006, whereby Westchester can earn a 50-per-cent interest in Guyana Goldfield's Peters mine property in Guyana. This property is prospective for gold mineralization and consists of 8,358 acres located approximately 160 kilometres southwest of Georgetown, the capital of Guyana. The letter of intent is subject to regulatory approval and execution of definitive documentation. Guyana Goldfields is arm's length to Westchester and exists under the federal laws of Canada.
The letter of intent requires Westchester to issue five million common shares to Guyana Goldfields and commit a total of $5-million in exploration expenditures on the property over a three-year period to earn its 50-per-cent interest in the prospecting licence. A National Instrument 43-101 report by Cargill Consulting Geologists Ltd. detailing previous exploration and mining activities on the property is available in Guyana Goldfields' SEDAR filings on Jan. 29, 2004.
I don't think that's just because of the channel results. They have been drilling for a while now and must have some nice core.
Then again, it dropped back down awfully fast after the last run over $2.00.

Mr. Gregory Sparks reports
TRENCHING CONFIRMS EXTENSION OF ZONE AT MILLION MOUNTAIN; CONTINUOUS CHANNEL SAMPLES INCLUDE 18 M. @ 5.63 G/T AU
Sacre-Coeur Minerals Ltd. has received assays from Loring Laboratories Inc. of Georgetown, Guyana, for samples from four trenches located approximately 150 metres west of its previously reported discovery holes at its Million Mountain project located in the Puruni River region of Guyana. The trenches were excavated to test the dominant vein sets of the stockwork system occurring to the west of the high-grade shear zone discovered in the initial drill holes. Results of the trenching confirm extension to the west of the near-surface, gold-bearing anomalous zone at Million Mountain and are being used to assist in targeting holes in connection with the company's continuing core drilling program.
Trenches TR0206, which yielded 39 metres at 3.66 grams per tonne gold, and TR0406, which yielded 27 metres at 3.40 grams per tonne gold are oriented north-south. Trenches TR0206 and TR0406 were excavated approximately 16 metres apart. Trench TR0306 which yielded 18 metres at 5.63 grams per tonne gold is oriented east-west to the north of the north end of trenches TR0206 and TR0406. Trench TR0506 was excavated across the contact of the Million Mountain break, a regional scale, low-angle discontinuity oriented west-southwest/east-northeast, which seems to be the principal structural control for the Million Mountain deposit and potentially others for several kilometres along strike. Trenches were excavated to a depth of approximately two metres. All trenches were continuously channel-sampled for their entire length. Sample intervals were uniform at 1.5 metres each. Sample volume taken per unit length was approximately equal to that of NQ drill core. Summary assay data, location and orientation details, are provided.

Sacre-Coeur finds new gold zone at Million Mountain
2006-10-11 08:29 ET - News Release
Mr. Gregory Sparks reports
SACRE-COEUR MINERALS TARGETS NEW ZONE AT MILLION MOUNTAIN NEAR TIGER CREEK
Sacre-Coeur Minerals Ltd. has now identified a new zone of anomalous gold-bearing mineralization at Million Mountain. The new zone is located approximately one kilometre to the southeast of the current drilling program along the trend of the previously reported southeast-northwest-trending high-grade shear system. It is situated along the flanks of Tiger Creek, a small left bank tributary of the Puruni River, which bisects the project. Historically, Tiger Creek has been the focus of intense artisanal alluvial mining. Drilling on the shear zone and the associated stockwork vein system in the main zone is continuing.
Preliminary sampling and mapping of the new Tiger Creek zone have yielded encouraging results. Assays from Loring Laboratories Inc. of Georgetown, Guyana, showed that 12 of 27 field samples collected returned anomalous gold values, the highest being a grab sample at 48.2 grams per tonne gold. A comprehensive trenching program is now under way at Tiger Creek with a view toward identifying potential drill targets in the new zone.
These sample results, along with the history of pervasive alluvial mining directly along the projected trend of the shear system, suggest a target of good potential for at least one kilometre beyond the area of current drilling in the main zone, to and including the Tiger Creek zone. An extensive trench sampling program advancing to the southeast along this projected trend is currently under way. Pending continuing encouragement from the trenching program, drilling will continue to advance to the southeast close on the heels of the trenching.
The company's exploration program is overseen by Gregory B. Sparks, PEng, senior vice-president mining and exploration for the company, with assistance from Dr. Hendrikus Aarden, PGeo, Jack King, project geologist, and Thomas Clarke, project geologist. Mr. Sparks and Dr. Aarden are both qualified persons under National Instrument 43-101. Ardito Martohardjono, a director of the company and laboratory specialist, has provided assistance establishing lab protocols, and sample handling and assay quality control.

Sacre-Coeur hires more Guyana staff
2006-10-02 09:17 ET - News Release
Mr. Irwin Olian reports
SACRE-COEUR MINERALS ACCELERATING PROGRAMS IN GUYANA WITH KEY STAFF ADDITIONS
Sacre-Coeur Minerals Ltd. is accelerating its exploration programs in Guyana with key staff additions at both the administrative and technical levels. The new additions are designed principally to permit the company to expand drilling and exploration at its Million Mountain project, in the Puruni region of central Guyana, as well as commence comprehensive exploration of the company's Northwest district gold prospect.
On the administrative side, Edward G. Hopkinson, MSc Geol, has joined the company as country manager in Guyana. His responsibilities include managing the day-to-day in-country affairs and local administration of the company's operating subsidiary, Sacre-Coeur Guyana Inc., and include interfacing with the company's geological team in Guyana. He has been active as a geologist in Guyana for several decades and has proven competence in surveying, engineering and geological concepts, as well as financial and engineering management of a wide variety of projects.
In addition to wide-ranging geologic experience from grassroots through feasibility and environmental studies in the private sector, including work for Denison Mines, Gold Fields, Golden Star Resources, Homestake, Placer-Dome, Bema Gold and Coeur d'Alene Mines, Mr. Hopkinson has extensive experience in the public sector. He has served as director of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, commissioner of Geological Surveys and Mines and chief inspector of mines. This has given him a breadth of experience in both the private and public sectors in Guyana that will be invaluable to the company.
On the technical side, the company has now added three new senior exploration geologists to its Guyana team. Jack King, Joseph Calpito and Alan Davies have joined the company's exploration team. They each have in excess of 10 years of broad-based exploration experience in varying settings and environments, ranging from Guyana, Venezuela, the Philippines, Africa and Asia to other parts of South and North America. They will report to Greg Sparks, PEng, senior vice-president of the company, who is overseeing the company's exploration and mining programs in Guyana.
According to Irwin Olian, chief executive officer of the company: "These new staff additions will enable us to expand our drilling and exploration programs at Million Mountain in order to accelerate our infill drilling in the main zone, continue core drilling along trend with a view toward expanding the main zone, and develop additional drill targets in the region, including across the river near Tiger Creek. In addition, they will enable us to bring our second major gold project on-line by commencing extensive exploration of our Northwest district property, which is situated near StrataGold Corp.'s Tassawini property as well as prospects controlled by Newmont Mining Corp. With in excess of $8-million in the bank and strong drill results to date from our efforts at Million Mountain, an acceleration in our programs is warranted and reason for increased optimism."
We seek Safe Harbor.
I missed it too and I own some ! No news yet, must be something good coming though. Maybe I'll be a bag holder no more!
fell of my radar and missed it
SCM is prone to some pretty crazy over reactions in both directions. It is a buy now.
The bar has been raised!
Oh I get it. Anything less than 150m of 24 g/t is not good enough for you.
If they keep up with these drill results it will be back where I sold it at.
Sacre-Coeur cuts 19.6 m of 5.8 g/t Au at Million
2006-06-09 08:27 ET - News Release
Mr. Irwin Olian reports
HIGH GRADE SHEAR ZONE EXTENDED AT MILLION MOUNTAIN -- NEW ASSAYS INCLUDE 19.6 M @ 5.8 G/T AU
Sacre-Coeur Minerals Ltd. has received preliminary assays from Loring Laboratories Inc. of Georgetown, Guyana, for 10 additional drill holes targeting extensions to the high-grade shear zone intersected by previously reported drill holes MM01-05 and 02-05. The shear zone intercept in drill hole MM01-06, drilled 20 metres to the southeast along strike from the MM01-05/02-05 collar, contains 17.3 metres grading 4.2 grams per tonne (g/t) Au. The shear zone intercept in drill hole MM08-06, drilled 20 metres to the northwest along strike from the MM01-05/02-05 collar, contains 19.6 metres grading 5.8 g/t Au, and in drill hole MM12-06, drilled 40 metres to the northwest along strike from the MM01-05/02-05 collar, contains 12.7 metres grading 3.4 g/t Au.
The current drilling program is focused on testing the extent of a high-grade northwest-trending shear zone discovered originally by trenching and subsequently intercepted at depth by previously reported drill holes MM01-05 and MM02-05. To develop a better understanding of the structure, the company has drilled fans of holes at minus 45 degrees and minus 60 degrees from drill pads situated on the hangingwall side of the structure, evenly spaced at 20 metres along a line oriented at 294 degrees true (parallel with the estimated strike of the structure). This release reports the results of two fans to the northwest and two fans to the southeast along strike from the initial discovery holes, and two holes drilled off-trend approximately 150 metres to the southeast to test for the presence of suspected offsetting structures for a total of 10 additional drill holes.

Guyana drills 304.1 m of 4.85 g/t Au at Aurora
2006-06-01 16:18 ET - News Release
Mr. Patrick Sheridan reports
GUYANA GOLDFIELDS INTERSECTS 304.1 METRES OF 4.85 G/T AU.
Guyana Goldfields Inc. has released additional assay results from the continuing drilling program at the Aurora mine property, Guyana.
Rory's Knoll
Diamond drill holes RKD-55 (170.4 metres at 2.73 grams per tonne (g/t) Au), RKD-56 (303 metres at 3.2 g/t) and RKD-57 (304.1 metres at 4.85 g/t Au) were designed to test the vertical continuity of mineralization at Rory's Knoll. A longitudinal section illustrating these holes is available at the company website.
RKD-55 was designed to probe continuity from depth interval of 150 metres to 300 metres; RKD 56 to probe from depth 250 metres to 650 metres and RKD-57 to probe from 500 metres to 800 metres from different positions due to the minus-70 plunge of the mineralized zone. These holes were successful in identifying such continuity.
The three holes were drilled vertically for two additional reasons:
to be used as mother holes for a directional drilling program using the Devico system; and
to study any vertical zonation of mineralization.

Mr. Irwin Olian reports
SACRE-COEUR MINERALS APPOINTS LIMOR RUBIN AS NEW CFO AND DIRECTOR
Sacre-Coeur Minerals Ltd. has appointed Limor Rubin, CA, to serve as the new chief financial officer of the company and as a director, replacing Ron Jorgensen, CA. Mr. Jorgensen has resigned as CFO and as a director by mutual agreement in order to pursue other professional and personal interests. He will remain as a financial consultant for the company for a period of one year.
Ms. Rubin has been serving since Jan. 1, 2006, as controller of the company and of Pan African Mining Corp. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and the Israeli Bureau of Accountants. In addition to experience in the mining industry, Ms. Rubin has experience with the financial services industry, mutual funds, insurance, real estate and the public sector. Prior to joining the company and Pan African, she served as accounting manager for KPMG and as a senior accountant with both KPMG and Ernst & Young.
According to Irwin Olian, chief executive officer of the company: "We are delighted to bring Limor on as our new chief financial officer and as a director. She brings a wealth of experience and strong credentials. Management felt that the company and Pan African have now matured to the point where they require the services of a full-time, dedicated chief financial officer. We are grateful for the loyal service Ron Jorgensen has rendered to the company since inception. His outside professional and personal commitments, however, have begun to limit the amount of time he could commit to the business and affairs of the company. Thus, a realignment of personnel was deemed to be in the best interests of all concerned. Jennifer Todhunter remains our finance manager and Danica Payette continues to serve as administrative assistant.

StrataGold continues with $6.2-million Guyana projects
2006-04-12 11:52 ET - News Release
Mr. Terry Tucker reports
STRATAGOLD'S C$6.2 MILLION EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM UNDERWAY AT TASSAWINI, GUYANA
StrataGold Corp.'s 2006, $6.2-million exploration and development program at Tassawini and the adjacent Anaturi prospecting licence (PL) is under way, in keeping with the corporate strategy to fast-track its Guyana gold projects.
Tassawini, Guyana
The exploration program at Tassawini, Guyana, will continue to test the strike extensions of the four confirmed gold mineralized zones -- Tassawini South, East, West, and Black Ridge. The first phase of the core drilling program under way is testing the saprolite and bedrock potential of Tassawini South, where high-grade gold results were reported in 2005 (see Stockwatch news Feb. 21, 2006). Currently two diamond drills and one reverse-circulation drill are operating on the property.
Anaturi PL, Guyana
A 10,000-sample soil geochemistry program is under way on the adjacent Anaturi PL. StrataGold's 100-per-cent-owned Anaturi PL is located adjacent to and along strike from Tassawini, and it is believed gold-mineralized trends identified by the 2005 drilling program at Tassawini extend northeast on to the Anaturi PL.
