Graphite curbs
After choking exports of chipmaking metals gallium and germanium, China is stepping up its efforts to maintain its manufacturing dominance by restricting exports of graphite, a key material used in electric-vehicle batteries. Beijing's move comes just days after Washington unveiled new restrictions on AI chip exports to China.
Dig deeper: Beijing will require special export permits for three grades of graphite starting December 1, the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs said. Temporary controls on five less sensitive graphite items used in industries such as steel, metallurgy, and chemicals were dropped. The new curbs are "conducive to ensuring the security and stability of the global supply chain, and conducive to better safeguarding national security and interests," the ministry said. It clarified that it was not targeting any particular country. Top buyers of graphite from China include the U.S., South Korea, Japan, and India.
Bigger picture: The U.S. has been targeting China's access to advanced technologies over national security concerns, with the Biden administration issuing rules in Sept. to regulate U.S. investments in China in semiconductors and microelectronics, quantum information technologies, and AI. Beijing has pushed back by leveraging its dominance over certain materials. To note, China is the world's top graphite producer and exporter. It also refines over 90% of the world's graphite into the anode material used in EV batteries - the largest component by weight in such batteries.
Ivan Lam, senior analyst at Counterpoint Research, does not expect a major impact in the near term, as graphite exports haven't been completely banned. But he said the material's prices will likely increase due to supply and demand imbalances, including Russia - which was once a major graphite supplier. CLSA's Christopher Richter said it would be a "bold" step to cut the world off from graphite, as that would likely bring EVs to a halt everywhere and probably escalate tensions between China, the U.S. and Europe.

My order just filled!
It's time for those .065's to be cleared out!
FINALLY, they have been overdue for a couple of months, it was only surface work, I am thinking there is something bigger going on here with these results,
The current mineral resource at the Berkwood Graphite Project includes in-pit constrained resource totaling 1,755,300 tonnes of indicated resources at 17.00 % Cgr and 1,526,400 tonnes in inferred resources at 16.39 % Cgr.
Napkin mathematics::: 1.75 million tons multiply by 17% (mineral content) multiplied by $1,530. per ton (ore value) gives you the value of the discovery in the ground before mining costs. Do the math.

February 16, 2023, VANCOUVER, B.C. Green Battery Minerals Inc. (” Green” or the “Company”) (TSX-V: GEM, FSE: BK2P, WKN: A2QENP OTC: GBMIF) is pleased to announce assay results from the surface work conducted at Zone 6 last summer.

Excellent::: pleased to announce the acquisition of 1,168.07 hectares of mineral claims semi-contiguous to the Berkwood Graphite Project
Wonder how many years that adds to the mine life?
This story is growing but I still do not have a sense of a start to build out, with an at surface grade open pit would take 3 months of prep then into the pay-dirt (my estimate for a timeline)
If they announce mine startup dates, the share price will go steep curve up.
Fun watching the three stooges OTCX, VIRT and ETRF manipulate the bid/ ask..
$GBMIF will soon be in the teens! The 6's are a major bargain and no one wants to sell down here.
Yea I am aware of that. I was in BMIX and they keep putting out news release but never produce if when I thought they should. sold at loss and could have made 50-100x if I did not. Now they are trading under ATLX in Nasdaq
Still have some doubt on that. But time to move on to nee pasture or opportunity
The secret here is the proven reserves multiply the total proven reserves by the price per ton and minus out mining costs.
They are sitting on billions of $ worth of material however this is a mining company and they move at a snails pace, be prepared to sit if you buy in.
Thank you, I think that makes sense - I am just trying to be thorough. Looking at the Graphene Star financial statement, they only have fixed assett of less than 8000GBP (assuming it is not x1000 like regular statement)
I just think that companies that do testing for LIB and Graphene testing have more expensive equipment.
I am not holder yet but I am following closely. I think this has a lot of potential.
Could they have been a sole proprietor before that date? Did data entry make a mistake? Do we as retail investors dive too deep into our investments?
We produce our products without the use of any emissions, pollution or waste. We do not use any chemicals in the production of graphene or highly conductive graphite.
Graphene Star has been Carbon Neutral from 2017 per their website. But they were incorporated in 2019. How does that happen?

You are right about the Mega Factory - GEM's graphite is just up the road from Baie-Comeau.
Northern Graphite and Graphex Technologies Join Forces on Large-Scale Graphite Processing Facility Site Evaluations in Baie-Comeau
Français
January 12, 2023: Northern Graphite Corporation (NGC:TSX-V, NGPHF:OTCQB, FRA:0NG, XSTU:0NG) (the “Company” or “Northern”) and Graphex Technologies LLC, the U.S. subsidiary of Graphex Group Limited (NYSE American: GRFX | HKSE: 6128) (collectively “Graphex”), announce that Graphex will participate in Northern’s previously announced selection process (January 10,2023) for a site suitable for the construction of a large-scale graphite processing facility in the Baie-Comeau region. The plant is planned to supply coated spherical graphite anode material to the EV/battery markets in North America and beyond. On December 21, 2022 Northern and Graphex announced the signing of a non-binding letter of intent to negotiate a joint venture agreement to build a North American mine-to-battery supply chain.
And they would welcome graphite from other produces.
Jan. 10 2023 News Release for Northern.
Hugues Jacquemin, Northern’s CEO commented that, “Downstream processing is capital and energy intensive. It makes little sense for every graphite mine to develop its own capability. Northern intends to build a large-scale center of excellence based on our own production, but the participation of other graphite producers will be welcomed.” He added, “The supply picture for natural graphite is marked by a significant dependence on China for both graphite mine production and downstream processing. Our proposed plant would solve both issues on an industry-wide scale by providing OEMs and battery makers with a transparent, ESG compliant supply of anode material to meet current and projected demand.”
Looks like word is spreading on our undervalued gem!

I caught wind of a rumor (but have NOT been able to verify it) that Elon Musk has a gang of recruiters in a small town north of Montreal Quebec. If that were true you would see another mega factory being built fairly soon and that would be an ideal delivery point for Green Battery Minerals once they are in production. Keep an eye out and see if you can pick anything up along those lines, that would make the stock run but I would not buy shares based on what I said.
Most likely an offload contract, IMO / Partnership? Patent? Using graphene on next generation batteries?
North American, highest quality, huge, easily accessible and not a Chinese located graphite resource.
Low float...( Mason? Musk?) $100M?

Real news from GBM...
https://greenbatteryminerals.com/news/
Yingling, President and CEO of Green Battery, states, “I am very pleased to announce that we have successfully created graphene-containing Lithium-ion Batteries using graphite from our Berkwood Graphite Quebec property. Graphene-containing LIBs have shown to be far superior to traditional LIB. I am even more excited that we have discovered a proprietary technique with Graphene Star whereby we can build these batteries in an entirely environmentally friendly way without using any chemicals, emissions, pollution or cause waste. A graphene battery is superior on so many points and is better for the environment. The battery itself also costs significantly less to create, which can offer huge savings.
We look forward to the potential joint venture with Graphene Star and developing a next-generation graphene-containing lithium-ion battery.”
It's getting pretty wild right now. Que the popcorn!
The only ingredient missing here is Volume. Once the daily share vol exceeds 1M+ we fly!
That is the one thing about Canadian mineral plays, word hits the street in Vancouver and it is a dog pile on a rabbit before the news comes out, SEC regulations around future events in the states are a little tighter than Venture plays in Vancouver.
This should be considered a long term play anyway, at least that is my view, once in production and selling product at $1,100 a ton I would not even hazard a guess at what the share price will be.
