Wow! Finally have data to put this battery into perspective. For comparison there are two worlds I will be comparing this battery to the Lithium Coin Cell, those two worlds are “stand alone”, and “2nd stage back up power”. Stand alone has no other power than the coin cell itself. 2nd stage back up power offers power to the circuit when main power is shut down.

G+Al = ~2.7v
G+Al Battery, 2nd stage back up power and is only that, if even “considered” that. The “considered” part is due to circuit design, when the engineer is designing the circuit they design around an unwritten rule in the industry standard and that standard is around ~3.0v. Now….pending the Chip selected to handle the memory and RTC save off when power outage happens, most processes get down to ~0.8v(some, just using an average), before the battery can no longer save off to the internal memory.

This bit of information really limits the G+Al battery for a lot of design considerations, because like I said engineers are looking for the “3.0v”. Even ifffffffff they know of this battery there are changes to the circuit design and even Firmware(I know a lot of people will say, “those are not big changes”, yeah you are right not big changes, but when the product line has been developed for 15 years on that 3.0v platform, that becomes a big change). I digress, so like I was saying. In design that CUTOFF voltage is huge, and by the looks of G+Al battery characteristics taking it to the 0.5v Cutoff will make this a win. They have to sell this to Computer Manufactures that is the only sector(there maybe other sectors that could benefit from this battery), that I see it could really benefit from this tech.
Stand Alone use, the G+Al battery is a complete waste of time and money. Given that most designs around stand alone devices design around ~2.0v to ~1.8v and if you look at the battery drain characteristics you will notice that it is around 150mAh/g, and Lithium coin cell(2032) is around 215mAh, and the lithium used in a 2032 coin cell is ~0.1grams(that’s insane, if you understand the power to weight ratio(energy density)).
Once again the Unwritten Rule in Design is 3.0v so they(GMGMF) misses out again on selection.
Hope this is easy to understand, if they market this baby right( and that is not my area of expertise) they could stand to win and put more money in to future development which would really help.

Summer is gone here. Getting into a drought ridden fall that the talking heads say should change into a nasty snow filled winter. Who do you like for solar, I feel like the US is about ready to roll a lot of solar out.
IMO there are plenty of really great batteries and battery technologies........on paper. If we were able to do what math and models say is possible we would have portable electric everything with batteries that are light, incredibly power dense and charge instantly. The problem with these fantastic batteries and technologies is that they are not real, they are models, they are theory, they are scientifically possible but totally impractical for one reason or another. For me, I need to see something more than an estimated ("industry standard estimate methodology") spec on a piece of paper, I need a battery that can be tested real world and built in mass. The whole market is on a fire sale $LAC will be just fine. Did you ever find a way to get into Sayona? Good things coming!

"GMG testing data is based on industry standard estimate methodology" This tells me there is no real world test or comparison, the testing is based on calculations not actual battery tests. Why will they not build and test real batteries?

"I still have not received the datasheet and specifications on their coin cell." There isn't any out there. I really want to believe in this technology but if the tech isn't a hoax then GMG doesn't seem like the company to do anything with it or at least they haven't so far. To me, given what has happened in recent history (HUGE promises of an absolutely market disrupting new battery technology) this feels pump and dump worthy. IMO I think this is over, they will not change the world with a new battery or they would have already. $GMGMF sold.
Russia is a major player in mining of Aluminum.
The next concern is presenting the data on this battery, it has not been made available to the public/investors. GMG has made certain data available but not all, whats the hold up?!?!

(TSXV: GMG) (FSE: 0GF) ("GMG " or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company has commissioned its graphene aluminium-ion batteries ("G+AI Batteries") in pouch cell format and that the first G+Al battery pouch cells have been manufactured. With the addition of the pouch cell equipment to the existing pilot production and testing plant ("Battery Pilot Plant"), GMG now has operationalised the Battery Development Centre ("BDC") to enable the productization of this technology for a wide variety of applications.
GMG's Managing Director and CEO, Craig Nicol, commented: "The commissioning of our pouch cell manufacturing equipment is another important milestone for GMG. It allows us to capitalise on the experience already gained with coin cell development and testing to open the avenues for our technology to a much broader application base. Much of the interest from prospective customers lies in our ability to productize the pouch cell, which can be found in a large range of end products ranging from personal and industrial appliances to grid batteries and EVs."

As previously announced, subject to successful commercial prototypes and a final investment decision, GMG aims to construct an initial commercial coin cell G+AI Battery manufacturing facility, followed by first production and sales of G+AI Batteries with the development of G+AI Batteries in pouch cell format occurring in parallel in the Battery Development Centre. The location of this initial commercial manufacturing facility is not yet decided but will likely be in Australia where GMG's headquarters and existing operations are located.

Wow, someone has plans to get this sucker rolling. I was just reading some of the profiles of the latest hires and some pretty impressive talent. Two of them that really stick out:
Sheena Ward - has over 15 years of HSEQ major and hazardous operations, regulatory, and supply management experience.
Dr. Dan Brett - is a Professor of Electrochemical Engineering at the University College London (UCL), a top-ranked University, where he is a director of the Electrochemical Innovation Lab (EIL) and Advanced Propulsion Lab (APL). He is an academic founder of the Faraday Institution (a UK battery research programme with a consortium of over 20 UK universities and 50 businesses – including 450 researchers) and a member of its Expert Panel.
I would have loved to work with this guy on Battery Development Projects. Just loaded with ooodles of information, enough to make a nerd load up his pocket protector and polish up his thick rimmed glasses.
But Sheena looks like there is a bigger picture in the pipeline. Yeah Bosch maybe doing something with GMGMF. It looks as if though GMGMF is going to do something bigger on their end.

Do we have any word on the graphene aluminum ion batteries? To me that was a huge thing, a possible market disrupter and now not a peep about it. Nano-diamond batteries from NDB are described as alpha, beta, and neutron voltaic batteries and have several new features according to their website.
Durability. The firm calculates that the batteries could last up to 28,000 years, which means that they could reliably power space vehicles in long-duration missions, space stations, and satellites. Drones, electric cars, and aircraft on Earth would never need to make stops to be recharged.
Safety. Diamond is not only one of the hardest substances, but also one of the most thermally conductive materials in the world, which helps protect against the heat produced by the radioisotopes that the battery is built with, turning it into electric current very quickly.
Market-friendliness. Thin-film layers of PCD in these allow the battery to allow for different shapes and forms. This is why nano-diamond batteries can be multipurpose and enter different markets, from the aforementioned space applications to consumer electronics. The consumer version would not last more than a decade, though.
Nano-diamond batteries are scheduled to come onto the market in 2023.
Arkenlight, the English firm commercializing Bristol’s radioactive diamond battery, plans on releasing their first product, a microbattery, to the market in the latter part of 2023.

And those are on par with the timeline of Energizer and the AA Lithium Battery. What’s interesting, is how long it tookEnergizer to release the 9v lithium battery to the market. I think that was double the timeline.

I get leery of companies that hire other companies to spread their fluff. Why don't they just report on their new batteries? Any word on performance? Its been a while now since the last real announcement. I want to hear how the performance of their experimental cells do as compared with conventional coin cell battery's. But he doesn’t touch on the challenges that lie ahead(money/funding).

Here is the same conversation, but they mention the challenges.
Biggest one is trying to get Big name autos on board.
New tech is going to cost a lot, and marking up the price on products is not in the interest of the companies.
Can’t wait for this to hit the market though.
Look at it this way, double AA battery has been around for a long time. You change the cell size for more power, you have increased your cost. On the design, injection molding(tooling), supply of the demand, marketing, lots of challenges, my head is starting to hurt thinking about all those challenges.

I know.....that "theoretically" the thing is right where one would want in (a couple of days ago whilst ON (below) THE LINE) but,
THIS TIME (lol) the broad markets seem ESPECIALLY vulnerable.....
To where it seems "reasonable" that the GMG line may not hold !
Why, if I were ANY good at trade management though, I'd've bought BELOW THE line and put in (what they call (up here) an (I THINK) "Stop-Loss Limit" order.....aka just a stop loss down there
In which case I'd say
Buy at 2.75 but Sell if it hits 2.45 (Yep, why I frickin' STILL haven't "figured out" how to PLACE such an order !).....
Which totally just pisses me off.....But......blame largely myself for that.
