GV doesn't go out of their
way to do many updates other
than regular reporting...
So we watch...LJ
Yep one week from today. Seems a little early for people to be buying in ahead of earnings, but it should be a good report.
Yeah, they’ve got earnings next week I think too.
I'm with ya. Just seems weird how we were languishing in the $3.40's on Monday. Then yesterday the stock was up on the highest volume of 2020. Then another strong day today. Trading like some good news has leaked out.
Plenty of reasons, the company is fundamentally undervalued based on revenue and backlog. Electrical infrastructure will be more in demand in the states they operate during hurricane season, and politicians will be giving infrastructure lip service during the upcoming elections !
Yeah anyone know why the strength the past couple days?
Chart says huge over extended pump job, about to crash back down. Buyer beware.
GV...extremely undervalued stock!!
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee////watch and weep!
That’s because you don’t know how to read them. Boom W&L

GV here comes 3.60...nice and steady!!!
GV here we go....50 million contract came in....monster infrastructure play
GV outta the gate...watch this beast!!!!
GV getting real close to break above the weekly trigger...3.76 on the horizon!!
Chart says huge over extended pump job, about to crash back down. Buyer beware.
GV ready for 3.69 still undervalued!!

GV new nasy play going into Jan 2020!! Gonna be a monster!!
Wow, I remember when this was one of my best secrets.
Now look at it!

John H. Sottile, President and Chief Executive Officer of Goldfield commented, “These awards confirm the operating strength of our electrical construction and foundation subsidiaries. In addition, we are experiencing strong improvement in fourth quarter results and anticipate significant growth in revenue and that earnings will more than double when compared to the fourth quarter of 2018.”

HI THERE MY FRIEND $GV
PCA website link...

I’ve only flipped this one but really like it.
These guys could have incredible upside if they announced dividends or share buybacks are in discussion. Additionally, if they could just get caught up a bit on all the work they get, explosive price action here could be realized.
Impressive stock action no doubt. Up over 20% now from a few days ago. And doesn't look like it's done yet! I didn't think people would chase so high on this pump, especially as the stock is going to come right back down next week. Had a few shares that I flipped. Now wishing I'd bought a bunch more.
Yep you are right. Seems like they are in demand.
Man look at that price today. I sold a little early but UP.
GL
Have followed GV for many years. It makes sense that they should get more work after a hurricane. But I have yet to see it benefit their financials. Maybe because they have to pull their already busy crews off what they were working on.
Keep in mind, clean up work consists of repairs to electric infrastructure also and now days especially.
It will create more work and backlog.
I’m only thinking I’ll get this back around $2 next week again.
Not really much interest from traders out there but long term this seems like it will continue to grow.
Agree I see GV getting pumped as a hurricane play every year. Which doesn't make much sense as I have yet to see the company benefit from hurricane cleanup work.
Glad this continues to pay.
I’ll sell here and let it come back off a bit.
Great gains
$2.04
I was hoping for some lower but couldn’t fill.
I like $2.04 just fine on a day like today especially after closely inspecting the last report.
UP!

Hurricane play angle, here is a bit of info from SEC filing and a company website (cut and paste):
Revenues and results of operations in our electrical construction business can be subject to seasonal variations. These variations are influenced by weather, customer spending patterns and system loads. The Company primarily performs work in the southeastern United States. Electric utility customers normally perform their system upgrades and maintenance work during off-peak seasons when the demand for electrical power is reduced, which is in the first two quarters of the year in the southeast region of the United States. This pattern is apparent by the reduction in the number of active projects in the third quarter.
However, since hurricane season normally peaks during this period, this pattern can be offset with
storm restoration work resulting from hurricane damage.
When disaster strikes, Southeast Power continues to
rise to the challenge. Our personnel and our extensive fleet are prepared to mobilize immediately and operate under the most adverse conditions while ensuring the critical time constraints of our customers are met. Our crews have played a major role in storm restoration activities in and around the Southeast for every major hurricane to strike the
region in recent years.
