I’m liking these prices. Might have to start loading again.
Sold off most today.
If I see a 5% dip I’ll probably load some again. Flipping this occasionally has yielded good things.
Looks like a lot of money compared to what GV has paid me but the pay range is only enormous to people in a different range entirely.
Unfortunately it's an ATM for management. Did you see the big bonuses they awarded themselves earlier this month? After the stock plunged from $5 to $2 to 2018. Yes a job well done!
From the 8K:
On March 7, 2019, the Committee approved, and the Board ratified, the actions set forth below with regard to bonus awards to Messrs. Sottile, Wherry and Spivey for their performance in 2018.
Messrs. Sottile, Wherry and Spivey earned bonus awards pursuant to bonus opportunities granted to them under The Goldfield Corporation Amended and Restated Performance-Based Bonus Plan effective January 1, 2016 (the “2016 Plan”) in 2018. Messrs. Sottile, Wherry and Spivey were awarded and will be paid bonuses for 2018 of $700,000, $427,345.42 and $246,034.56, respectively.

Did anyone else see the report?
Doesn’t look like it. I guess this has once again become my secret little ATM.
Sold at $2.8
Order in to buy at $2.5
Loaded up with all I want/need.
I feel like this is my own little money maker!
I’ll buy more at 2.50 and sell at 2.80 for now.
GV Condos for Sale in MelbourneGV Condos for Sale in Melbourne
Yuge volume just went by. there was 632k on the bid at 2.31, that filled, now volume is at 829k for the day...
I’ll continue to load at these levels.
This will rebound and easily double in 2 quarters!
Merry Christmas Gator!
...watch!
I have some friends in Melbourne, Fl. near their real estate projects. I put some calls out for an update. I just heard they were working on the pool at the 1725 address and the listings are on Zillow.
I like these gains that keep us growing back up. The next report will be much better. These folks are still working with more jobs than they can staff.
All loaded up...
reading through the transcript of the conference call, they know they have a 3rd Q problem, it has dipped in the 3rd Q several years in a row. Some folks are taking advantage of that now. They seemed to hint they would have more to report next Q as some things didn't close in time to be added to 3rd Q.
I am backing up the tundra...
I added a bit. Better short term rebound potential now.
This is one of the few I am willing to go long on. Pay attention to the bids these guys win. Lots of work to do and these folks will rebuild Puerto Rico!
These are great prices. I can’t believe it keeps churning out money like this and more people don’t know.
These guys are backlogged always and get great contracts.
I’ve been loading 4.6s
Bargain at these prices. Going to 5.10 in less than 1 week.
Watch
out. keeping this one on the radar.
Blessings floatin or gator
Check out my trades on AROC and T also.
Feel free to share your wins as I am typically 85% cash until the big one (correction) coming soon.
Dubster
Sold and will look for $4.20 again someday soon
nice little pop this morning to 4.45, probably come back and test the 10 day at 4.35 on Monday, then it has to look to the 20 day @ 4.86 if it wants to eat.
I have been very fortunate here. My buy and sell orders wait but eventually hit. I’m up nicely on this and AROC. (Similar trading trends)
Both I flip almost like an OTC but these guys have consistently given me the ranges I prefer to trade.
Happy thanksgiving
I am in, 4.245. I admit I chased a little. $20M in cash, good credit and an increase in maintenance service agreements on page 14 got me itchy along with the cyclical nature of the share price and low RSI. Let's see what happens...
I just found it on my screener the other day, RSi was low and recent candles showed it oversold. I wanted to get in yesterday, hope to fill today at 4.20. market being up isnt helping I don't think.
You also!
I have been flipping this for a couple of years and always get paid. Too rich for most on this iHub bs.
I kinda like that it’s my own little money pump.
These folks will do well with all the rebuilding in the South and Puerto.
Watch it explode to the upside when their next report is more work than they can handle (as usual).
Nice to own a stock that has a service so in demand.
I expect them to offer dividends in less than a year also.
Dubs
I have an order in @ 4.20 for a small position as well. good luck to you.
Order to double down at 4.20$
Watching. RSI 28. Closed at 4.20 today.
Way oversold and a perfect reaction to the news. I was a ble to load nicely today.
Look back, this always pays me.
Huge buying opportunity!
I’m going in.
And there's the ugly quarter that someone got tipped off on. Sleazy. Tried to warn the longs not to fall for the hurricane hype. Stock likely to take another hit tomorrow. I will say there was something encouraging in the report...backlog increased significantly on a sequential basis to over $200M.

So why is the stock tanking today BEFORE the earnings announcement this afternoon? Looks like someone got an early look at the numbers...and didn't like what they saw. Shareholder lawsuits starting soon.
Oh gotcha. So living in the now, what are you expecting for earnings next month? Another .09 or so in earnings. Or do you think the hurricane will boost earnings to more like .15/share?
Im not in to charity or rehashing the past exploits of GV, I prefer to live in the now and the last two months Ive made some nice coin on GV's swings from here to the $6.25 ball park.
They have a Quarterly coming up, perhaps banging the state of Florida via FEMA at 3 times normal rates will add some Benjamins to GV's bottom line.
I figure they have 1 or 2 more quarters to show some positive numbers then after that momentum disappears so will us traders.
Haha well maybe you can help me keep up (I've only followed this company for over 10 years). Please give me all the examples of when the stock USUALLY trades between $5.60 and $6.25 before the quarterly report is due. Or maybe you should look up the definition of usually. One time in the last few decades does not mean usually.
I just wish I had shorted this over $6. Get ready for the drop to the $4's when they report a flattish quarter next month.
Its 2017 try to keep up, they established a trading range, go with it
Uh what are you talking about? You mean one time? Can't be usually as GV traded in the $1's and $2's for most of 2014, 2015 & 2016.

Hurricane play angle, here is a bit of info from SEC filing and a company website (cut and paste):
Revenues and results of operations in our electrical construction business can be subject to seasonal variations. These variations are influenced by weather, customer spending patterns and system loads. The Company primarily performs work in the southeastern United States. Electric utility customers normally perform their system upgrades and maintenance work during off-peak seasons when the demand for electrical power is reduced, which is in the first two quarters of the year in the southeast region of the United States. This pattern is apparent by the reduction in the number of active projects in the third quarter.
However, since hurricane season normally peaks during this period, this pattern can be offset with
storm restoration work resulting from hurricane damage.
When disaster strikes, Southeast Power continues to
rise to the challenge. Our personnel and our extensive fleet are prepared to mobilize immediately and operate under the most adverse conditions while ensuring the critical time constraints of our customers are met. Our crews have played a major role in storm restoration activities in and around the Southeast for every major hurricane to strike the
region in recent years.
