QE3, here we come. Gather up those nuggets!
Regulation will come everywhere. It seems like "they" don't want the average peeps to Aguirre gold.
So, I just came back from Utah (Elk & Deer Hunting) & I dropped in my new folding sluice box in the creek by camp. I got maybe 5 specs. Dang, there ain't chit up there. I read so much about the ghost towns in that area with lots of gold & silver. Hmmm. I'll stick to northern CA. I'm heading up there in 30 days. Another late season for me. It's gonna get cold soon. My bro found a honey hole that we will work.
Hope your doing good dig!
They just put a ban on dredging in TN. Wtf
Very nice! Congrats. I still haven't gotten out there this year yet.
Got in the gold last weekend. Found a baaaad sssss pocket.
I don't see myself going out anytime soon. Not unless I find a local spot down here in SoCal area. I still haven't found a spot here yet. Maybe, a road trip to Northern CA in the fall.
Nice! You should have got an Angus mckirk, clean up would take 30 seconds.wink,wink. You going any time soon. My dredging friends are in our secret spot this weekend. I was going to go after my daughters' soccer game tomorrow, but now I have to work. I hit a nice pocket last time.
Good morning dig,
What's the good news on your end of the woods? I just picked up my first 51" folding sluice box. After all the hiking I did last summer & carrying a one piece box, I felt this would make my life easier. I can see the clean up is going to more time consuming with more parts to deal with. Oh well.
I hope you are loading up on gold.
I'm sure he could work you a deal. It sounds like you and I drop into some similar hard spots. Light weight is the way to go. You are so wanting me to get in the River again. My partner wants to bail in CA. He will sell his extras. Which is a lot.
Yes, I have seen the rebel against the ban. I'm so amazed that peeps are tripping on that. Find a deep river.....
Nice, I am trying to find a 4" mini. A mini due to huge distance I have to haul it to get to gold and to the creeks, if he has one to part with I may be game. The water was coooooold last weekend after the rain and mid 40 temps. my lips about froze having the snorkel in, but you know, gold won out. :) Did you see where groups are beginning to really hit CA with lawsuits over the ban on dredging. The pressure is mounting.
Wait. What's a wet suit? Lol. I skin it all the time and everyone thinks I'm nuts. I guess I'm use to the ocean. Short term though.
Let me know if you are looking for a 3 or 4". My bro has a few he may want to give up.
Let me tell you, high water, 7mil wetsuit, and 10 lb weight belt weren't meshing. I felt like flounder trying to stay under. Found some good gold though if I ever get around to cleaning the cons. I was at the max depth for my snorkel, but the 2" was humming. Now I think I'll get a mini 3 or 4"...with air.
right on. thanks for the info
They said it was actually in the Big Bear area and was a dry feeder creek of Holcomb creek. He got 2 nice pickers there out of only a few hours once he found that feeder. Might be worth a try.
Wow! That would be great. I was thinking of just going up to the Big Bear area and stumble around until I found something. I'm in the San Diego area. You know how that goes. It could take a long time until I found something. It's just so easy in Northern CA to find spots.
I have some friends that do real well in SoCal just sluicing and crevicing, I'll try to pry where they go.
That's sounds nice. I hope it pulls some great gold for you. I just talked to my buddy up North & he mentioned our spot is all snowed in. One guy stayed down there all winter. He's definitely not driving out of there for awhile. I'm getting that itch again to get digging. I considered hitting some areas here in SoCal. I just don't know the streams down here.
Hey man, I am trying out a new prototype Keene/Angus dredge I built off of my 2". It is an over under with deep v running full length on the bottom and the drop riffle on top. If it works it will be the in thing man!!! I hope to hit a good spot I left last year but the weather is looking quite wet. You been out lately?
We usually measure here in grams when selling. It probably just varies by vendors. When I've sold to individuals they wanted grams.(around here)
I know one thing, I still have the fever even after a less than awesome weekend in the pan.:)
Hey dig, I have a question for you. You mentioned you got 1/3 gram of gold the other day. When I go to sell gold, the buyers always ask how many grams do I have? Well, I was always taught to measure gold via penny weights. 1 oz = 22 penny weight. I had to convert that (grams to penny weight)to the gold vendor. Is that just a West Coast thing? I was taught by some Old Timers.
Cool! I just talked to my friend up North last night. He dropped his sluice box in the cold river & ice was forming on the sides of the box. I don't miss that at all.
So, where do you think gold prices will be heading?
Hit Ga a couple days this week. Maybe found 1/3 gram for the 2 days, but had good weather and a good time!!! Didn't get to hit my pipe though, I am sad.
Wow! That corrugated pipe sounds like a natural sluice box. I hope you clean it out!
Weather? I'm in San Diego right now, so it's not bad. Where I was, I bet it's cold as hell.
Nice choice on the drop riffle. Keene sluices do hold their value though...as scrap.lol
I am planning a trip in a few weeks. I will actually be panning in a corrugated drain pipe under a road. It is on one of the most gold bearing creeks in the south and noone realizes it's there. I scraped my hand in a riffle in it last trip and found a flake on my finger. I am hoping that gold has been stacking up there like a false bedrock for the 25+ years the pipe has been there!!! I have some friends in NC that have been finding almost 1/4oz a day on a little ass creek. I wish I could make it over there. How's the weather?
Any new gold ventures?
Dang, I'm so ready to go back up North. I luv the beach & all, but dang. That was the most fun & excitement I have had in years. I now have found the Hit Spots for the machines. This summer should be much better. And yes, I'll roll up there with a drop riffle sluice. :D
This should still the Kettle up a bit.

It's been very tough between work, family, and teaching myself java over the last 5 months. I am with you on that, damn you responsibilities! I have a real good spot I need to go back and work. I was working a quartz vein, but didn't have a small sucker to really get down in it. It was really fine gold, but every pan had at least 20 pieces. It really doesn't add up too fast like that, but is a blast to pan. I know a guy that buys at decent prices and has the most sought after cons on the net. We used to dredge in ga together, but lately he's been on a mission flying c17 planes for the military. If you ever need to sell placer, he might give you decent price. Sounds like the Sierras would have been a cool trip. Sorry about the cold. Have any luck wile you were there before the sickness?
Wow! You have a full plate.
I rolled out of the Sierras last week. It got cold & had some complications, so I ran back home. Damn snow & rain. Lol. I did sell some just under spot price yesterday. I was amazed at the offer without hesitation. I told them where I got it & done deal. My partner bailed out to Idaho, so he can legally dredge. I wish I could have stayed the whole winter up there. I was set. Damn responsibilities.....
Haven't been out in about 4 weeks. Hit an old placer mine creek in GA and did decent with a pan and shovel for a weekend. Found .62g for the weekend. 1 nice picker.
I've been working extra hard finishing a couple games for the android market. I've finished my ColorBlast game and now finishing up Space Quest Alpha. It's taken a ton of my spare time, but should soon come to a close. How about you?
Are you still digging?
A helicopter would be nice.:)
That's a hell of a hike. I'm hoping to get to make the trip back to my nugget spot in GA., but I need to finish this app. I'm torn.
Shay has probably the best deals on the AM sluice.
ok. You sold me on that. I'll order one ASAP.
I just hiked out of Canyon Creek in CA. That beat me up. 2.5 hours straight up. 1000 foot elevation difference. OK gold. We got stormed on for 2 days. Had 1.5 days to do test panning only. A dredge would pull a bunch out. If only I had a helicopter.
Once you go drop riffle, you'll never go back.lol
Wow! I need some of those. Hell, I'll be happy with a few "pickers" at this point. Lol.
Cool. I'll have to check that sluice out. I'm tired of constantly cleaning my sluice box out ( every 4 buckets ) in fear of losing black sand/fines.
I'm still up here. been here for 1.5 months now. Will stay up here until the end of Nov. if I can bear the cold. I've been dumped on for 3 days now & I'm wet & cold. I came up the mountain for a break. That river is getting cold & running hard after all of this rain.

Current Projects:
SRC WARREN IDAHO “LUCKY BEN “ PROJECT
Located in central Idaho, in the Warren Mining Distric, the Lucky Ben Mine has a history of being the regions largest gold producers. In its Due Diligence, SDRC found the mine to contain economic grades of gold running from trace to 1.866 oz. per ton, silver from trace amounts to 45 oz. per ton, and Cobalt.
The old workings include three patented claims (53+/-acres). Since being on site and evaluating this project since 2001, SDRC has now identified three additional mines in the central Idaho area and will continue to pursue those acquisitions. Upon realization of the massive potential, in 2002 SDRC acquired a ten year lease with a five year extension of the Lucky Ben Mine. In there most recent filing dated 8/3/2011, SDRC announced that in anticipation of moving into production roads have now been constructed and underground access is good. Additionally, Two skid mount buildings have been constructed, and equipment and materials are on site and stored in McCall. They also stated in the filing that they plan "to proceed from development to production and processing this year" (p.3, http://www.otcmarkets.com/stock/SDRC/financials)

No, I work the eastern gold belt, ga,tn, and nc. Let me just tell you, once you go to the drop riffle AM sluice you'll use your Keene for a dust collector. No carpet, man I feed the thing like cookies to cookie monster and never lose gold. The newest baddest are the bazooka sluices, but they are tooooo pricey. Must be nice in CA, the gold is bigger there than here. I hope you get some good color. Whens the next time you're hitting the creek?
I never heard of that sluice box. Looks interesting. I've been using the Keene plus my friend made a longer custom sluice box for a bigger river. I'm taking the day off today. I'll be up here for 2 months ... or until the snow starts dropping.
Do you work any areas in Northern CA?
That was one day of dredging at my new secret gspot. It sucks that they banned dredging there, that's bs. You can still use a sucker tube though and make pretty good with an Angus Mckirk sluice. I am trying to get access to some private property and if so, man that pan will need a stand when I clean it out.:) They haven't decided yet. I am anxious.
That pan can't be from one dredge clean out is it? I'm currently up in Gold Country in CA & only wish I could legally dredge. I doing a lot of sluicing though. I found one good craves 3' plus down. I could barely get my hands down it while lying on my belly in the cold water. It paid off well.
Anybody home? I just referred somebody here. Let's see if he shows up.
I was using my 2" dredge and got just over 2 grams in about a 4 ft area. If only the rest were that good. Man I was hitting the blaster nozzle around a big rock and it was clouding the water with black sand. It was pretty cool.
Nuggies!! Lucky, they are almost impossible to find here, but I keep looking!!!!
nice!..how many grams?...i got a few grams of small nuggies out of hixon creek bc.
Got in a grrreat pocket of gold in the mts last weekend. Too bad my time was limited.
