Shouldnt we be expecting Q2 coming out any day now or am I missing something?

could be looking at a potential 13/50 cross on this one. Its due.

When the earnings turn positive, even .01 eps, I think the pps will really rocket.

ummmm..... did anyone see the news?
"Nevada Geothermal Power Reports Record Output & Operations Revenue for the Quarter ended March 31, 2011"
Revenues doubled, operating loss was slashed by 75%, loss per share from <.06> to <.01>. Should turn the corner soon on profitablity regardless of decreased output on one property.
looks like she's ready to start the bounce! good luck all! nice pinch play!
I picked up some today also. The sell volume has definitely dropped off. We should see a decent bounce as long as it stays this way. Accumulation and On balance volume were trying to curve up today which makes me think the selling is almost done and it may be ready to reverse.
Got more NGLPF on Friday & 2day. Let's see what it does from here.
Mike
Thanks for that info.
all the geothermals are having problems... this one is having problems with power output from what i read. they are trying to resolve it with well configuration... but if they don't put out the expected output they are going to default on a loan..
market is reacting.

What happened here? I saw this one on a 52 week low scanner.
its super low and so are many geo's they are taking a beating.. energy and miners all down.
real
Got into NGLPF toward the EOD 2day.
Main Reason:
The use of Geothermal Energy is prone to expand rather rapidly, IMO.
Opinion:
I do not expect the PPS to drop any further, and if it does, by not too much.
Why? The main argument being this:

Was there a nuclear energy scam in Utah ?
Just got off the phone with someone in Reno, told me local investors in energy got ripped off.
Seems to be local investment in NGLPF as well. Those were funds that could have gone for investment here.
any one confirm ?

Regulators Pull the Plug on Alternate Energy
by Melissa Davis - 12/17/2010 8:04:55 AM
Four years after Alternate Energy (OTC: AEHI.PK) went public, courting investors with grand plans to build a multibillion-dollar nuclear power plant, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has finally suspended trading in the controversial penny stock.

NEW TAX BILL INCLUDES EXTENSION OF SECTION 1603
ONE OF THE BEST THINGS TO HAPPEN FOR GEOTHERMAL WAS THE 30% CREDIT FOR GEOTHERMAL AND OTHER CLEAN ENERGY PROJECTS. THIS HAS BEEN EXTENDED FOR ONE MORE YEAR! NOW I WILL WAIT TO SEE IF THIS BRINGS BACK THE VOLUME AND MOVES THE PRICE HIGHER. THANKS HARRY (REED).
I don't even bother... all i need to know is how many megawatts they are pushing and how much its costing to produce the megawatt... long as they keep increasing megawatts it is all good.. they will get to critical mass. ( this is why overall, in the long term I favor NGLPF over HTM...) NGLPF's projects are larger megawatt projects.
figure a nuke power plant is something in the range of 430 megawatts....
so when they produce somewhere in the range of 400 meg they are about as effective as a nuke
what i would like to see is a company like NGLPF and DPDW join forces and go to the undersea volcanic pipes in hawaii and develope a geothermal system under the sea that does not need wells... they could pump super hot fluid from the vents through heat exchangers and then power hawaii and send power back to the states through undersea cable system... Hawaii alone uses about 7 billion dollars in oil a year.
that is the future thinking this country needs... jobs and new far reaching tech.
real
NGLPF to issue quarterly results November 26 and then we will have results fot the quarter. Then we can multiply everything by four to see what the year could look like. A large size plant is easier to make a profit on because the stafing need is 14 people to cover the 24 hour operation. The material in the heat exchanger makes it necessary that trained staff is there seven days, twentyfour hours. Blue Mountain is going to make money for us as it stands and management is planning how production can be expanded.
its not the end all for energy needs but its got its place... what I like about NGLPF over HTM is they are building bigger plants... therefore they should make better revenues down the road in the long run.
HTM did run over 4 bucks when they went AMEX.
real
NGLPF has a small short intrest. US Geothermal has a high short intrest at times five or ten percent of outstanding shares. The shorts are done their work on Raser Industries. Looks like USG is their new target but this one might not work out for then. People will learn that geothermal is the one green investing idea that you dont want to short.
yeah HTM is rockin too. I think i am going to bounce into NGLPF.. i like it long term better.
IT"S A GEOTHERMAL BULL MARKETall of the geothermal stocks are going up. I do'nt count Raser because it's on the edge of bankrupcy don't buy, don't buy.
OK lets talk about the elephant in the room. Things are going so well for this stock. But its not just this stock, its my geothermal index. Since monday the three best geothermal companies are up:
Magma Energy +10%
US Geothermal +25%
Nevada Geothermal +22.9%
Ram Power Corp + 2%
Finally the perception that government support of geothermal could be short lived has been resolved. We have four more years of the country's biggest suporter of geothermal as senate majority leader, Harry Reid.
Looks like $.75 is a good price to take some profits. It looks a little overbought, being outside the upper Bollinger band totally today and the rsi is in oversold teretory at 75%. If NGLPF drops back to $.70 that will put it within the normal range of the Bollinger Bands.
Ormat deal proves thesis about NGLP. NGLP has some of the best geothermal resources in the USA. Falkner and Fairbanks, the founders of NGLP, know that the single biggest factor in the success of a geothermal enterprise is the quality of the resorce, the HEAT. The best places to build geothermal plants are where the heat is visible from the surface. Ormat's choice to partner with NGLP on the Krump Geyser project is a vote of confidence for the NGLP team.
Nevada Geothermal Power to Commence Development Drilling Program at Blue Mountain in Early November
Vancouver, B.C. (October 27, 2010), Nevada Geothermal Power Inc. (NGP) (TSX.V: NGP, OTCBB: NGLPF ) is pleased to announce
further development plans for the Blue Mountain Geothermal Project. The Company has contracted Ensign Drilling to drill up to three new
injection wells in areas north and south of the core production area in order to further distribute injection water. The program, budgeted at $8.4
million, is funded out of the John Hancock Senior Debt Loan backed by a DOE Loan Guarantee which closed in early September 2010.
When completed the wells are expected to allow energy production to be significantly increased from current output levels (approximately 48
MW gross). Equipment is currently being mobilized and drilling is scheduled to start in the first week of November 2010.
The Company has recently completed reservoir "tracer" studies to determine fluid movement patterns between injection and production wells.
Once the three new wells are completed and tested, NGP will determine a new configuration of the well field to optimize production. Along with
the current wells in service, on-going remedial work and testing indicates that wells 91-15, 44-14, 36-14 and possibly others can be utilized in
the final well plan.
In the medium term, the Company believes that four current injection wells located west of the production area can be converted to high
temperature (180-200ºC) production wells at relatively low cost. The wells are already available and connected to the plant by insulated
pipelines.
NGP has begun field assessment of additional target areas within the 17 square mile Blue Mountain property. Only two square miles are
currently developed. Temperature gradient drilling to establish new resources is planned.

Commenting on the results, the Company's president and CEO Mr. Brian Fairbank said, "Operations at Blue Mountain have shown a steady improvement throughout the last year and this is reflected in this quarter's financial results. The plant generated an average of approximately 47MW (gross), 36 MW (net) during the quarter, despite electrical repair work lowering production. The Company expects further improvement in plant output once current well field work has been completed." Highlights
Drilling began at Crump Geyser under a Joint Venture Agreement with Ormat to develop an up to 30 MW project that is anticipated to qualify for an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Federal Treasury Grant. Downward revision of long term Blue Mountain power production forecast results in (non cash) gain of $3.6 million during the quarter, as a result of a lower estimate of the cash settled option value in 2023 and further deferral of EIG (previously TCW) loan costs.
Subsequent to quarter end
Agreement reached to purchase Imperial Valley, California properties from Iceland America Energy, Inc. adds development opportunities. Testing of recently completed wells is underway at Blue Mountain and Crump Geyser.
Mr. Fairbank said, "We are excited about the start of development drilling at Crump Geyser with Ormat and acquiring two new advanced stage projects in the Imperial Valley, Southern California."
