The World Poker Store, Inc. Expands the Bar Poker League to the Netherlands
ST. PAUL, MN, Sep 24, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- The World Poker Store, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: WPKS), an international entertainment company, announces the expansion of The Bar Poker League to The Netherlands. The World Poker Store has entered into an agreement with Play It Simpel, creator of the popular poker reality TV show "Poker Kampioen Van Nederland." Under the agreement, an existing Play It Simpel poker league in The Netherlands will convert to The Bar Poker League, owned by The World Poker Store. The conversion will happen in February 2009. The league operated by Play It Simpel began running Texas Hold'em tournaments throughout The Netherlands in early 2008, and has rapidly grown to over 200 venues and 200,000 registered players. League members play for the opportunity to appear on Play It Simpel's reality TV show and be crowned the poker champion of The Netherlands.
Under the agreement, Play It Simpel will also create a poker reality TV show from The Bar Poker League in Germany. The show will follow a similar format where league members play for the opportunity to appear on a reality TV show and be crowned The Poker Champion of Germany.
