there is a company in texas that has something better than batteries.
I have been considering converting a Volvo P1800 I've owned since 1963 into electric. Digging around for battery solutions I came up with lead acid, BFD; lithium nano A123 privately held, a stake by GE; and a company named Valence Technologies, VLNC. Everything about VLNC seems a little lke GTEM with the exception of a Director that buys a million dollars worth of shares like monthly. It has a 15% of float short interest, a bazillion PRs with lots of "potential".
If you know anything about electric cars, you know the EV1 died because of lead acid batteries. The environmental impact of enormouse numbers of lead acid batteries failing was more than anyone (Chevy)wanted to touch. Lithium Ion "paste" and "nano" are both said to be environmentally safe (Lithium Iron is suspect). The beauty of these two technologies is that of hi energy density and lo weight per watt. If VLNC is a bonifide producer they are sure to be a winner, just as A123 will be as well. I bring this up as a high risk, potentially high gain flyer.
I would like to thank you too Mr. Frank...
We all have our own points of view and it would be impossible for anyone to be perceived by all as fair in such a competitive environment as a stock message board. I have spent time on non moderated boards and preferred your board, even if you made it more "challenging". I do think more people sitting in judgement is fairer than fewer so I like the new iHub policies for reviewing posts.
Thank you for your efforts and good luck to you!
Cole
Although I thought your moderation was a bit overly-biased and the new system of review allows for fairer discussion of the stock, I still give you credit. While we've had our differences, it can't be fun dealing with all the anonymous riff-raff on a daily basis. You put forth the effort and kept the board in better shape than many others out there.
Kudos and my last post of the day in thanx.
Thanks, for asking and the compliment. A number of reasons why I decided not to moderated the GTEM board any longer. I don't have as much time as I used so it was a bit taxing. Also one can only read that garbage both bad and good for so long before one tires of it and with admins and mod squad replacing posts that were removed, only caused more trash to be posted it became increasingly frustrating so the more time and less frustration was an easy choice.
I'm still a share holder and have even added some recently. Sounds stupid considering the lack of info and uncertainty but I've always said it's a highly speculative stock and I'm prepared to lose my entire investment or pay extra in taxes.
Good luck
Same here Frank. You did a helluva job on the gtem board. NO time or did you bail?
glty
Justfrank,
I am curious as to your reasons for stepping down as the moderator of the GTEM board.
Care to elaborate?
"Heck of a job Brownie".
On a more positive note: I'm still very optimistic about Mercator Minerals. Just added to the S/P Toronto this week. Lots of cash on hand and Molybdenum about to begin being milled in a couple of months. FWIW (Lost my ass in Globetel....getting it back with this one)
Several months ago I posted the following on this bd. (The current price is well over $11 depending on the exchange mlkkf @ $11.65 and Ml.to @ about $11.25) It is going higher IMHO...if anyone is interested (A special Hola to nerd)
"Back on 3-25 in post #38 on this bd. I mentioned Mercator Minerals. It trades under two symbols (ML.TO and MLKKF). ML.TO was @ $3.32 on that day and is close to $7 now and MLKKF is in the $6.35 range. From what I hear there is much more to come fwiw. The ace in the hole is molybdenum which they have a lot of and will begin to mill by early next year. Definitely worth a look IMHO. GLTA"
Note: Actually the molybdenum operation is due to start up Phase #1 production the end of Q #2. They are a prime candidate for a buyout at $15 or so as well imho. Good luck to all former gtem longs.
PMEI went from .40 to $500.00 on share volume of 225 shares. Someone is going to learn a big lesson about bidding open market on BB stock.

Remarkable times we live in, when a President can make a public address that essentially outs communications companies for participating in wire-tapping -- despite the administration's and those companies attempts to claim that they were not participating the entire time.

Looks like the move MS made backfired in their face.
Guess so, Don't miss the DIA or SPY Soon! Give it a month and you will make a killing!
I must have been asleep at the switch. EMKR just went up 40% since Wednesday and I just noticed. I think it is too hot to buy in now but after the profit taking it looks good for a secondary move.
i have something to share with you re you're number 1 fan..it's a hoot and you'll love it..i'll pm you
Kaching!!!!! A 70% Profit overnight with the Q, awesome!
Looks like the Q, DIA and SPY are going to take a nosedive tomorrow. It is nice to be short!! :)
Day Traded the QQQQ Today, In and out, KACHING!!!!! LOL.
Talk to the moderator of that board about it. Just followed his lead posted the exact message as he did on my GTEM board.
I am long on HUM as well, stock heading up to $110
Take a look at COLM. I shorted that one, what a piece of garbage.
It is possible that CPST is making the move I expected. Watch on Monday for the crossing of DMI+ thru DMI-, RSI rising over 50. The last time this happened it was a fake so patience is called for but the rise should be to ~2.00.
Followingte SONS has be beryy beryy good to me. I first bought at 1.25 rode it up to 6.95. I got in and out many times and never lost on this stock. The market isn't as much fun this year but playing the higher dollar stocks have provided comfort.
NAT got away from the lows before I got in; should have bought yesterday. My bet is that they are going to kill earnings in the fourth quarter. This is a long term hold stock, although I have made pretty good money trading it as well.
In the pennies SOYO looks like it should run, and CPST is due for a good ride.
I pay no stock commissions, so it makes no difference what the stock price is, it's the % I am interest in. Times I will settle for a 2% profit, usually I buy and sell quick, hardly ever make more then 20% on any trade. If it's running I let it run and get lucky once in a while. (Need that too) Cautious about my trades right now, don't like the looks of the market. Experience has taught me take what you can get when you can get it...let the experts make the big money, I'll take the crumbs.
Well, its nice to meet a real stock trader. It seems like this Ihub is all about penny stocks. I used to trade penny stocks and now I trade big ones. I have a real dislike for anything below $50, unless I decide to short it of course.
Don't usually play penny stocks, alot of the stocks I owned in the past ended up being penny stocks anyway Lol. (GTEM one of them). Made a lot of money on ERFW, biggest % gain of any stock I ever owned shot up from .11 to $1.40 in a couple of weeks, sold and never looked back. I have a rule that I never buy a stock once I sold it unless it goes below my original purchase price. Have my eye on SONS, last time I purchased it was $4.20. Been following this one for years, same pattern all the time, everytime they get a big contract they have disappointing earnings the next quarter or manage to have some problems with the SEC. Company is a loser for shareholders but a winner for themselves. A company (Senate) owns 67 million shares and has been buying most of 2007, stops buying and the stock tanks.
I am a negative person by nature, and always look for what is wrong with a company before I make an investment. Seldom look for the good. One of the reasons I don't post much....make too many enemies. LOL
The funny thing about Penny stocks is that the Carnival Barkers rant and rave over $50 of volume. LOL. I just don't know why the SEC continues to let them trade. Bizzare.
I did a beautiful Day Trade in the Q today. Does anyone here trade that??
followingte that's what I have been saying about AHR. This whole "We don't know what we don't know" scare just wont hold with AHR. We now the dividends are secure for a significant period. Now a recession will hurt their holding values the income will remain. The massive short effort was really going to costly for those folks, unless they unwind soon. Attempting to hold the price here, with a yield of 18% is just silly. I'm very happy with the stock even though I'm a little out of the money at the moment, with an average price at just above $7 thats a 17+% return while I wait.
Nerd, Have you listened to or read about the AHR/DB conference.
On the Yahoo board there is a very knowledgeable person for2net12, his posts are worth reading. I like this stock for both trading and long term.
I like this part:
What about dividend cuts???
Shea: Dividend rates are based upon credit performance. It means nothing when spreads widen! The spreads do not touch the dividend cash flow! The $0.30 dividend is expected to remain stable and sustainable…Operating earnings will go above and below .30 from Q to Q…AHR looks at it on a 2-3 year horizon not a quarter to quarter basis. Credit performance is the key. The assumptions for losses are much higher than the current performance and actual losses are not expected to change by a magnitude higher than the assumed loss rates in the next 2 years. So div is expected to remain stable.
The QQQQ is on its way to 48.40 for today. It is certainly a great daytrade!
Options it looks like a falling knife to me. It may be grabbing on to the bottom now, but that sure isn't clear.
duke GLBT traded $10 total today?
...some might say the same about GTEM...Duke...
I can't believe GLBT is still trading.
Hey Frank...Next time you feel the need to come over to the GLBT board just to bash (great one-liner), have something constructive to say that makes sense. Maybe based on DD?
A turnaround is coming this next week, getting ready to go long in the QQQQ and the DIA.
Hi there...I couldn't help but notice your post. I'm sorta confused since I recently saw you post that CPRK (a pinkie) was a very tight deal as far as stock structure goes and those who go along for the ride will make a ton of money - have you changed your mind?
Ally
No penny stock players here. The new resurrected board only talks about real companies. I am long out of penny stocks, which are nothing more than business plans with ticker symbols.
...Mr frank, popped in to give you an update...
...remember this
one?...http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=18203999...
...that was @ .02 (two cents)...
...current price : ICBS LTD COM (ICBM: OTC) 0.0001 (-0.0002)(-66.67%)!!!...
...I don't even know how to pronounce that price in real words!...
...i wonder if cwy48 is still alive?...
...Happy new year, Duke...
Options you might look at TM. It is going up on a very modest gain in sales, just because F and GM had poorer sales declines.
at this time there is no reason for any auto company to rise.
Time to start shorting things. Do you have any shorts for me?
Options Solar is a whooper of an industry. The USA has a not very well concealed secret.
http://blog.nanosolar.com/
NanoSolar has not yet gone public, when it does it is Katie bar the door. They are using Xerographic technology to "print" thin film solar cells that are very effecient, high current and CHEAP. At $1 per watt they are going to kill the industry, that's why I'm waiting to jump into this market.
I'll continue to plow money into tankers that haul oil as they have high yields and solid support from investors.
Ok cool, I will check out your holdings. SYNA looking good and so is LDK. I hear LDK was mentioned on CNBC. A lot of players believe this is the next big solar stock, especially in light of oil hitting $100.
Options I didn't get back to the forum during the holidays.
SYNA was a quick burner. Actually, according to the hourly charts there is still some growth left in the rally, it must be seeing profit taking just now.
I have long positions in NAT, VLCCF, RSG, LTC and TE. I hold a number of bonds so I'm not all risk.
I do feel that this is going to be a great January! I have postions in several stocks, my big one is the QQQQ. I think this will make me some great money over the next several days.
Are you are tired of big government?
Are you tired of being penalized for being successful by burdensome taxes?
Are you are tired of big government poking it's nose into your daily life?
Are you tired of both political parties making decisions that only benefit their own hold on power?
Are you tired of the Constitution being trampled?
Is it time for "We the People" to take back our country ?
If you do it's time to join the tea party.
