FMI PR on FDA/CMS approval of FoundationOne CDx:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/fda-approves-foundation-medicine-foundationone-041500701.html
Looks like serious competition for FMI: #msg-136227022.
FMI -5%/AH on 2017 guidance:
http://investors.foundationmedicine.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=1014009
Inasmuch as FMI announced “preliminary” 4Q16 results on 1/9/17 (http://investors.foundationmedicine.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=1007033 ), the stock’s decline in AH trading is presumably due to the 2017 guidance rather than the 4Q16 results.
NOTE TO SELF
SELF...wish someone had been listening as today was THE BEST DAY to enter for you and that's why I came by last night for conversation....any buying from 9:30 to 10:30
pat myself on the back as I also made a nice "round trip" on margin today from 19.995 to 22.50s
Over $10,000,000.00 in dollar volume today (STRONGER HANDS as they say!)
holding 2000 shrs long from under $16.50, going above $40 this year IMVHO
hoping some day someone will join this island and help me clean up the board.
LATER!!
sorry Dew...
I no longer have the right to private message...been a long time!
Thank you for the kind response.
and of course to become moderator, one must have four current posts
and my agenda is to hope for conversation and watch this stock rise together.
100th post = Luck
Glad I bought this stock a few months back...conference call along with business wire should keep FMI moving north as soon as people grasp the realities...it may take a little while, but >$50.00 w/i six months is my guide. I expect higher over time.
I'll check back in January since I rarely post anymore. Was hoping for some conversation on this Company/Stock.
Good Day All!!!
If they pull off this "Liquid Biopsy" announcement by the end of the month, this could see a nice pop!
FMI -8% on tepid 2016 guidance: #msg-119748405.
FMI +7% on two items: #msg-119332549.
Actually not a bad price when looking at the charts... Not a chart guy, but that is a long fall after great news... I would suspect they shorted the shit out of it. Now, really no room on the downward and has tested...
Just don't know about the corp. in general, where r they headed ?
I’ve been out of the stock since my purchase lots became long-term for tax purposes. I’m not tempted to buy back in at the current valuation, although I suppose that could change. Regards, Dew
p.s. Roche and FMI have a standstill agreement, so a takeout can happen only with the consent of FMI’s BoD.
Dew, what's your opinion on FMI at this level?
1.Rate of growth in test numbers? Do you think Roche will add test numbers significantly?
2.Pps? fair at this price in valuation? Pharma business seems to be intact.
3. Nationwide coverage? Will it eventually be achieved? No additional coverage by private carriers to start with.
4.Roche. Do you think Roche still has compelling reasons to take over the rest of FMI?
TIA,
Onemodolar.
WOW... Buy buy buy... How does this fall back so far. What manipulation these days.... Almost sickening...
FMI says it will launch a “liquid biopsy” test during 2015; re-iterates guidance in other respects:

FMI’s methods questioned by Johns Hopkins: #msg-112767154.
Re: Results of Roche tender offer
On a pro rata basis, 80.7% of shares tendered to Roche will be converted to $50 cash, and the remaining 19.3% of tendered shares will be returned to the tendering shareholders:
#msg-112479268
FMI shareholders approve Roche deal:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/foundation-medicine-stockholders-approve-pending-160000779.html
Shareholder approval, in this instance, was a separate deal requirement from the tendering of a sufficient number of shares.

Musings from FMI’s 4Q14 CC: #msg-111286500.
FMI was planning a half-day investor presentation in 1Q15, but it’s been delayed due to the Roche deal. When it takes place, FMI will discuss its liquid biopsy and CTC programs, among other things.

FMI inks drug-discovery collaboration with (private) H3 Biomedicine:

The arbitrage spread does not appear to be pricing in much tender risk.
Have not done the math (not an area I know well) to figure what percent offered is expected to be accepted. Don't arb as a rule. Price seems fairly tight relative to fairly low risk 100% buyout tenders. (at this time juncture with a low risk-free interest rate.)
Tender offer schedule expected
Starting on 2/1/15.
for 6 weeks likely.
Ending mid Mar.
Proxy vote during yr ending ER in late Feb.
Cash pay out around 3/20/15 if there is no need for extension.
Once you tender your shares, you will not be able to trade those shares in open market unless you withdraw.
How to tender? just call your broker on the phone same day.
How to withdraw? takes a couple of days.
When to tender? No need to hurry. you may wait till last minutes. Wait for CC and decide. Acceptance is pro rated, nor first come first served.
I don't have a strong opinion about how the share price will react to the completion of the tender offer. It depends to some degree on FMI's news flow between now and then, including the full-year 2015 guidance for revenue and number of tests that FMI will presumably provide on its 4Q14 CC.
dew
is it your feeling that after the tender from roche(which is oversubscribed)is completed that the pps of foundation medicine will be trading below the tender offer given the activity since the announcement.Or is this something that you dont have a grasp on.
do you still feel about 50-75% of all shares tendered will be filled?
selling at 50 short term or 40 long term will result in the same after tax gain for myself.trying to get a grasp as the best way to attack this as my long term gain will take place in oct 2015.do you have a feeling if stock can trade above the tender price in the not so distant future.
any color you can give is much appreciated.
Curious comment from Roche CFO at JPM today: #msg-109921830.
...and they are gone. Upper 48's beats tendering risk.
I don't intend to give any more blow-by-blows. (eom)
Picked up a few in the 44's.
Good, balanced discussion of the Roche-FMI deal: #msg-109853880.

It would appear there is an arbitrage situation set up for the $50 tender.
That could be a large determinant in stock price until the tender is closed.
Dewdil... and all longs! a big congrats to you all. i miss this (short for fund).
Looking for that post lunch rally for an easy flip...
Yes, there is more upside in due course—see #msg-109831151.
Roche’s analysis is consistent with my (Aug2014) valuation model
Dew
Do you think there is more upside from this level?
Thanks again.
Support seems to be holding at $50 even though that gap is ridiculous XD
Oops I meant $60 hahaha
Lol that would be INSANE XD
I like $160 today
This is insane XD this week is going to be so much fun with bios. I expect more acquisitions from big names on these smaller bios to take place because everyone is looking at the sector for a chance to make big bucks the next few days.
An easy double - Thank You, Mr. Market.
