Firefly Metals hits high-grade copper-gold at Green Bay

Firefly Metals Ltd managing director Steve Parsons talked with Proactive about the company’s latest drill results from the Green Bay Copper-Gold Project. Parsons highlighted a series of significant intercepts from ongoing infill drilling, including a standout result of 14.2 metres at 7.5% copper equivalent. These results are part of an effort to upgrade the current 24.4 million-ton resource into the indicated category, which is essential for progressing the company’s engineering studies and maintaining ASX compliance. “In some of those infill zones, we’re seeing 50 metres or more at over 2% copper with gold,” Parsons said, underlining the robust nature of the mineralised system. D'Enrico addressed common misconceptions about the sector, clarifying that it is not temporary or homeless accommodation, but instead provides long-term homes for adults with care needs. “A misconception as well is that specialised supported housing is a passive investment based on the long lease,” he explained, underlining the importance of resident occupancy and the operational real estate nature of the assets. Carey detailed the steps taken to resolve issues with Parasol and My Space Housing Solutions, including lease transfers to stronger providers, which are expected to improve rent collection. “We’ve collected 72% of the contracted amount so far with Westmoreland, and we’re confident we’ll meet our target,” he said. Markham reviewed the FY24 results, noting that while net tangible assets declined to £0.99 per share, rent collection stood at 93% and the company maintains strong debt metrics with an average maturity of 8.6 years and a 2.74% all-in cost. MP Evans posts record 2024 results, eyes growth

MP Evans Group PLC (AIM:MPE) CEO Matthew Coulson takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company’s record results for 2024 and the strong start to 2025. MP Evans Group reported a robust financial performance in 2024, with Coulson confirming a record profit and a 66% increase in earnings per share. “It’s been a fantastic year for the group,” Coulson said, noting that high pricing supported the result, with prices averaging around $820 per tonne for the year. The company processed 1.6 million tonnes of crop in 2024, maintaining output despite weather-related challenges in Indonesia. Coulson highlighted this achievement in context: while Indonesia saw a slight national decline in crop yield, MP Evans sustained high volumes, reflecting operational resilience. Planting activity also continued across its operations, particularly in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan. The company expects to exceed 11,000 hectares planted at its Musi Rawas estate in early 2025, while its ABK site in East Kalimantan is set for more extensive development this year. AuKing prepares for gold mining at Mt Freda site

AuKing Mining Ltd managing director Paul Williams talked with Proactive about the company's latest update on its Cloncurry Project in Queensland, focusing on the Mt Freda deposit. Williams confirmed that with Orion Resources nearing acquisition completion, AuKing is preparing to restart mining operations at the historical Mt Freda gold mine. Williams highlighted Mt Freda as a top target for redevelopment due to its existing mining lease and approvals, as well as a current resource estimate of around 100,000oz. "We really don't want to start a mining operation unless we've got reserves in the resource estimate," he explained, outlining the company’s aim to confirm and expand those figures through an upcoming drilling program.
