The belief is that WalMart will buy FedEx, to stay in competition with Amazon’s internal build of its Prime delivery infrastructure.
Think we see another falling knife scenario this week
Time to buy the dip here. Long FDX.
Very much so... Ethics are huge with Fred... Super strong company and management
“trade war stupidity.” Creating some buying opportunities for the long term
LOL, tell me something I don't already know!!
FDX's capex investment coming right now makes them extremely vulnerable to any kind of economic slowdown that might be caused by the trade war stupidity.
“Shares of FedEx Corporation FDX have dropped 28.6% in the past six months, wider than the industry’s 18% decline.
Weakness in global trade has plagued the company for quite sometime now. Consequently, it witnessed negative earnings surprises in each of the last three quarters. Moreover, the company trimmed its earnings per share outlook for fiscal 2019 while announcing third-quarter fiscal 2019 results, primarily due to this headwind. FedEx now anticipates fiscal 2019 earnings per share in the range of $15.10-$15.90 excluding pension adjustments, TNT Express integration expenses and certain other items (prior view was in the $15.50-$16.60 band). Notably, this was the second time that the company resorted to such an action, having previously lowered its earnings projection in December 2018.
High costs have also put pressure on the company’s bottom line lately. This is because FedEx has been investing heavily in facility upgrades at its key divisions, thus pushing up capital expenses. Capital expenses are expected to be as high as $5.6 billion in fiscal 2019. Additionally, integration expenses pertaining to TNT Express are perking up costs. FedEx estimates TNT Express integration charges to be more than $1.5 billion through fiscal 2021. Of these costs, approximately $435 million are expected to be incurred in fiscal 2019.
Surrounded by negativities, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company’s fourth-quarter fiscal 2019 earnings has been revised 7.3% downward over the last 90 days.”

So when a high quality stock gets cheap - should one buy it cheap or sell it cheap?
"Fed-Ex Smart Post" is one of the dumbest business deals around. Fed-Ex picks up your package at a reduced rate and then delivers via pony express to one of the US Post Office contract locations. Then the US Post Office takes another 3 days at least. Typically, a normal 3 to 5 day delivery is now 8 days.
Wonder if Fed-Ex is losing business?
Perhaps the PGA Tour is sweating if Fed-Ex will renew their commitment to the Fed-Ex Cup. Tiger Woods may go hungry.
Earnings Action Today! What This Stock... $FDX
Every trader and investor will be watching the $FDX earnings tonight after the closing bell. It is probably the most important stock in the transport industry group. What percentage of FDX expense is fuel for trucks and airplanes? This overall down market is an anomaly by weak hands. FDX coming back stronger than ever. Otherwise, the PGA Tour will have to cancel the Fed-Ex Cup (ha).
Haha thks I should have played it though with the short. Maybe next December.
The news "talking heads" need some story to add to the main reason so that they can appear to be smart.
Main reason for the down market is the Trump-Chinese trade negotiations.
I wish I had more money to plow into this market low.
NASA will have to keep track of this rocket when the Chinese compromise.
Seeing FDX and UPS crumble other day before close is sad, as they blame it all on Amazon... Well, doesn't Amazon use both UPS and Fedex besides USPS?
And with all problems with USPS, they are raising postage rates next month 5 cents more per ounce saying they are losing $4 Billion last year for their pensions.
Well NONE of their pensions or benefits helps me or other Americans who work in small businesses, so it seems if Amazon is such a monopolized event these days to destroy the 2 biggest delivery companies in USA, maybe Federal Govt needs to step in and investigate Amazon and Bezos altogether...???
Besides, here in NC around Wilmington region, so many sleeping in tents and have no homes this Christmas from so many hurricanes and rain/flooding, Ole' Bezos could donate $1 Billion himself to really help those people out; Buying some travel trailers to live in until their homes are rebuilt, etc. FEMA is stretched already with not enough temp trailers to go around with so much continued flooding/damage in that area...
FEDEX OME MONTH

1 YEAR
http://schrts.co/yDfXi1
They pay their employees OT,DT, to make sure you get your mail/parcel. The government mandates a retirement fund. Revenues are increasing per year. Fed Ex cares less of their employees retirement or your order. Trust me their services will reflect in the stock price soon.
You can’t buy USPS stock, hope u have stop losses In place this winter this company can’t hang. That’s why they give their parcels to USPS to deliver for them cause they bite.
I loaded under $100 and will continue to hold. USPS is a joke and loses big every month.
"The Postal Service reported a net loss for the quarter of $2.1 billion, an increase in net loss of $573 million, compared to the same quarter last year."
https://about.usps.com/news/national-releases/2017/pr17_043.htm
Now your turn to provide a link disproving USPS is worthless entity...a loser. Big time loser!
You sir are an idiot and should be banned from the internet. USPS does not take any tax payers money. They are one of the biggest legal monopolies that create their own revenue. Unlike FEDEX, who has no federal or union laws to make sure their workers and and services are above satisfactory. The post office does not hold your parcels for 6 days making excuses of weather, overburden of work, or short staff. FEDEX is garbage and if they continue to provide crap service their stock is going to show it.
Horrible company, really bad service!
This crap is going to plummet sell sell sell.
Looks like FedEx has done a good job recovering from its setbacks faced earlier in the year. Its second quarter results look good. 2Q18 Snapshot
Why hasn’t fedex put a bid for cargo jet? $CJT. Cargojet is Canada top overnight cargo shipper, seems like a good pair..
Poor FedEx, first it was the cyberattack and then came Hurricane Harvey. How hard did it get hit in first quarter 2018? Here is a snapshot - Q1 2018 Results
How big a concern is the June cyberattacks effect on earnings?

This should give you better idea what is meant by " FDX to run airports"
https://www.thestreet.com/story/14174541/1/the-privatization-of-airports-could-unleash-big-business-for-fedex-reveals-jim-cramer.html
FDX to run airports? What does that mean
USPS imo will be addressed by Trump Administration. They lose around a billion a month and are big time losers at tax payers expense. FDX and ups would be big players.
I did the calcs and it can be done and with a profit...do downside for tax payers any longer.
About to double my investment!
$200 target.
Hey, Jake! I hear you "loud & clear"!! I bought in at $61, and then it just took a nose dive! I was just about to sell out, but it turned around these last 2 days, and tomorrow looks really good in AH. I will hang on to at least get my money back, and take it from there. Good luck to you!
ANOTHER MONEY MAP PRESS DUD BY TOM GENTILE ...
AND I QUOTE THEM :My Rosetta Algorithm revealed that FDX has gained an average of $4.37 per share between November 16th and December 4th every single year but one... for the last decade.
Think about how incredible that is.
Think about the odds of one stock making the same move over the same small date range, despite all the crazy ups and downs the market has experienced over the last 10 years.
Now, ask yourself...
"If FDX gained $4.37 for nine of the last 10 years, what do you think is likely to happen THIS year?"
Here's the bottom line...
If you're one of the very few who can see this pattern – and know exactly how to capitalize on it – you can become, quite literally, rich.
Dear Reader,
If I were you, I'd circle your calendar for December 4th. And I'd keep a deposit slip handy too.
Because on or before that date, it's extremely likely that shares of FedEx (FDX) will increase at least $4.37, or 2.8%.
Only I wouldn't settle for a measly 2.8%. And neither will you.
In fact, in the next few minutes, I'm going to show you exactly how you could gain 100% or more on just a 6% move in FDX...
And deposit DOUBLE your money into your portfolio by December 4th.
And that's just the start of a run of plays that could easily add up to gains of 400% or more into your pocket between today and the end of THIS year...........WELL THAT TURNED OUT TO BE BULL $HIIIT..
Bought some more today. Low gas prices means less major expense for Fed-Ex
Yep...still is though I got in well under 100.
When UPS announced that Earnings were off due to lower Christmas deliveries, I wonder if Fed-Ex perhaps ate their Christmas lunch and dinner. Either way, I figured FDX is a good investment.
FedEx rockin as normal...imo
Besides all the accidents lately regarding FedEx trucks and packages, I have noticed something this year regarding ALL carriers....
I am not seeing the amount of carriers on the roadways as we did last year at all (FDX, UPS, YRCW, ABFS, so forth). But, I have noticed more people are decorating their homes than in past years....
Anyone else notice this out there?
