ESV trying for a new 52-week high. So close. It hit $7.995, $8 is the 52-week high.
Something is up here. ESV is up 5%, while it's peers are around flat. Oil is only up 1/2% and the market is down over 200.
Thanks sir! I feel another dip is coming soon, but on watch at the moment
Yes I covered at the 200 ma 5.45. Quick dip :)
Couldn't get below $5.39. I sold my Put for a small loss. Did you cover? ESV is acting strangely. Oil is barely up, market is flat, other drillers are down or barely up, and yet ESV is up over 6%.
Thx hoping so :)
Nice. I think you have a good shot at that over the next couple of trading days.
Set at 5.10 atm
I am long and I also own Puts. So far your short looks good. Where do you plan to cover? I see support at $5.30, then $5.
NEWS OUT - Too bad it's on a day when the market is closed. The company announced it's shareholder meeting, and one of the things they want the shareholders to vote on is this:
"To (i) approve the terms of the proposed purchase agreement or agreements providing for the purchase by the Company of up to 65.0 million shares for up to a maximum of $500.0 million in aggregate from one or more financial intermediaries and (ii) authorise the Company to make off-market purchases of shares pursuant to such agreement or agreements, the full text of which can be found in "Resolution 9" of the accompanying proxy statement. The authority conferred by "Resolution 9" will, unless varied, revoked or renewed by the shareholders prior to such time, expire five years after the date of the passing of this resolution."
A share buy back!

Quarterly report beat expectations by quite a bit! Nice! What's not nice is the stock reaction...
Nice. This drop is unwarranted IMO. They had a good fleet report the other day. Earnings are Wednesday-Thursday. Good luck
about to jump in tomorrow. Well run company. term, . Geopolitical haven.
To the other 9 followers here. What do you think, today is capitulation day?
Chart looks great on ESV, I am already in a profit on it, can see going up multiple times in next year.
Did a Cup and Handle breakout this week.
I guess they don't have much clout. Stock didn't react at all to it.
Ensco upgraded by BMO Capital today. Analysis show shares are +25% undervalued: fair value analysis
Even better now, making some real money on ESV stock and OIH options this week.
It has been sweet. Can we get 3?
Rare rare bottom call by Goldman ESV
Analysts are usually late to the party they switch from sell to buy after a stock has tripled from bottom

Goldman is actually trying to Buy the bottom on ESV.
Chart is showing some signs of a reversal here, we are up 3%. Any oil rally and it will really respond.
You are spot on. I have known this company since the late 90's. I even visited the HQ when it was in Dallas. It is way undervalued here, even with oil at $45. Back then I bought this under $10 (can't remember how low it got), and rode it into the $30's. I own quite a bit right now, and look forward to another run like that.
If oil makes $55 totally agree-StockTA

That is about as negative as it gets.
This also points out how extreme the drop is http://www.trade-ideas.com/ticky/ticky.html?symbol=ESV
I would agree. The question is timeframe. I could see this at $13-$15 by year end.
what goes down 90% can go up 10 times, if its teh same company. ESV is basically the same company it was at $60, a 5 bagger on oil recovery would seem in order
Graphs look like a Japanese Richter scale. Waasup?
Shares of offshore drillers gained across the board today, even as Ensco (NYSE:ESV) was downgraded to Underperform at Wells Fargo and Transocean (NYSE:RIG) was maintained with a Sell rating at Evercore ISI.
good show! I'm looking at ESV but got side tract day trading SWN. This stock can run in fast when crude oil moves up. It's bargain under $7.15 --- you just need to hold until crude pops and it runs up quick.
I'm dumping my position in Alcoa. The stock has a crooked market maker that makes it very hard to day trade. It's down 3.5% today while Century aluminum is up 20%.... I'm gonna buy some CENX for a long term hold. I think it can run up to $30 in one year with luck.
Happy Trading.
ESV will open down this morning. Here are support levels: $8.20 (yesterday's low), $8.05-$8.07, and $7.65 (52-week low).
My order filled at $8.31. Back to my full position again.
I have an order in to buy back the shares I sold at $9.
I see crude supplies up at Oklahoma. I had a sneaky felling this was gonna happen. crude just run up on exuberance, not fundamentals. I just picked up a load of ESV at $8.50 -- could not resist.
Hey, if that works for you that's great. I plan to have a long term and a short term position. That way I don't miss out on any big spikes up, if they occur, but can still buy and sell the swings.
I don't like the way OPEC and Russia are acting. And I don't see a good rally in crude until US production drops like a stone. There is a lot of crude in storage tanks in Oklahoma and a whole lot more setting in tankers off Houston trying to unload with no empty tanks. I might miss the absolute bottom but I don't want to get in an offshore driller in a strong hold position. I'd rather jump in and out 3-4 times every few days.
I also think today's rally is overbought from what I see. I think everyone believes that China is gonna rally and boost crude demand back up above supply. I just don't believe it yet.
Good trade. I sold the shares that I bought at $8.37 at $9 as well, which amounted to about 1/6 of my total position.
Out at $9.00 -- bought 10K at 8.76 so I take my profits and run. See you on the next dip.
Back in at 8.76... I think ESV will move up to $9 after lunch. The sector is moving good... ESV is lagging but it does this a lot and always seems to pull up after all its peers have moved,
I have not heard anything. Still holding all.
drillers not trading right.... crude up to $28.70 while ESV dropping off it's 5% gain. It should at least hold. Something ain't right. DO in the red 3 cents? Too strange for me. I got to protect my profit so I dumped until I figure out what's going on. You heard anything?
Now it's coming back up. Damn, I hate trading mysteries.
I think so too. Next resistance for ESV is $8.77.
We're gonna get close to $9. Nobel drilling is up 10% already. I think buyers with deep pockets are waiting to see if this is a real rally or not.
I really like ESV's short interest at a low 7.65%... RIG has about %20 shorts. Some in the sector are even higher.
Good analysis on oil prices. I think we see ESV over $9 today.
