With a Guinness World Record adjudicator present, company representatives scanned and bagged 50 items featuring the newly released Digimarc® Barcode in 51.91 seconds -- bettering the previous record of 75 seconds. The items were scanned using a Datalogic Magellan™ 9800i multi-plane imaging scanner and an HP rp5800 POS system.

Attendees of the show witnessed the record-setting event at the Digimarc Booth #132 yesterday, Monday, January 13 at 3 PM ET. The record was set by Digimarc's Ed Knudson, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, and Sean Calhoon, Senior Director, Product Management, neither of whom have any professional checking or bagging experience. Adhering to Guinness' guidelines, the team switched scanning and bagging duties after 25 items, placed exactly 10 items in each bag and included the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records itself as the last item scanned. All 50 items appeared correctly on the printed receipt, stopping the clock to establish a game-changing pace of 58 items-per-minute.

For those that don't know, the company was approached last year to work on major deals by large partners. They were required to be confidential, so no details were released.

It was a strategic gamble by DMRC, given that they are a very small company. They had to ramp up staffing and plow through a lot of cash with no guarantee of generating any revenue from the deals under development. And then they couldn't release any info on what they were doing nor say who had approached them. So shareholders had to take it on faith that it was a good decision.

So to a lot of investors, DMRC in 2013 was a growth company with no growth. DMRC's stock price was punished in 2013 even though big deals were under development.

This is a legit company. Central banks around the world use their technology in their banknotes. The company pays a dividend. They have no debt. They are cash flow positive.

Now we're about to find out if the past year was a fruitful use of their time and money. I'm betting it was.

Tax loss selling is all but over. Back into the 19s now. I expect 20+ in January. How high depends on the rollout news. This is a speculation that has lower risk than most, given their strong cash position and dividend. So the downside is limited. But we still need a big PR to see a big move in the stock price. We'll know within a few weeks.

Yep, I am really suprised how non-active this board is. I really do not even look at this portfolio that often, it is more of a security blankets in my many portfolios.

It showed up on a scan I did on Schwab acouple years ago. Thats why I am here. I plan on exiting some around the $16 level.
