I wondered the same thing.
Where is He? Last post was 4/5
Very unlike him not to give someone, somewhere, a piece of his mind. ;)
and you rightfully should.... those were my transparent thoughts at the time. I honestly still feel that same way today. I don't know how I was able to call them but I still feel bad for it. I possibly had too much time on my hands and tried to learn too quick. I think I'm a bad person for it but others called me a genius.
I've moved on from that point in my life but there's nothing wrong with exposing me as a ruthless bastard.. Some people might like that, others will be not so impressed. It's something I have to deal with on my own.
It's better just to be quiet now but I've broken that rule lately and don't want it to be a burn hole in my history.
I chime in on politics and should stay there. I still have shares in DAR but not as many as I used to in regards to your post about that. It treated me well and back 15 years ago I appreciated their business model. Today, not so much but I have WM shares too so I honestly think there's a profit in spoils..
Like I stated before, trash is treasure. It's not my fault for being indifferent. Ledger sheets are the key. We have to stay diversified over a bunch of things that are no brainers for American consumers wether we like it or not.
Derf hasn't posted in a while, any news you are aware of?
Thanks for any updates. Hope he is OK.

#190171 RE: $5.95akadawson-m #190119
Let me tell you a little story....
I logged onto this site for the first time 10 years ago because of the rumblings about legalized cannabis in the states and Canada...
At that time we were just coming out of huge economic downturn, but I had been working through it all and met some people in 2009 that got me into the real stock market with money that I had saved which wasn't doing anything for me. I had annuities and IRA's long before that but I wanted to learn how to trade individual stocks and the cannabis stuff intrigued me. GW Pharm was the only real 'pot' stock I had owned then and I went out of my way through my broker to buy it because it traded on the London exchange.
web searches brought me here and when I first saw the site, it looked like a candy store to me. I had no idea what the OTC market was or how it functioned but I opened a trading account and started to play. LOL I'll never forget my broker telling me that he wanted nothing to do with it and seriously advising me against it.
I immediately got caught up in all the message board hoopla and started buying into a few 'so called' stocks and posting about it. I bought into the whole basher, naked short seller thing and pumped the POS companies that I owned. I signed up for daily promotions and believed all the bullshit that they spewed. I fought vigorously on the boards with anyone who said I owned a piece of garbage.
I spent my time skirting the TOS, being banned from boards and even a couple short stints in iHub jail. Nothing deterred me. I was on a mission. Now fortunately for me I learned very early on about how pump and dumps work but didn't even realize what it was. I just thought I was a master trader, buying low, selling high, rinse and repeat. I never really got caught holding the bag but I also never let on to my message board buddies what I was doing. Yes I lost money but I made a ton more.
I learned the hard way about taxes as well. Posting realized short term gains of 50k + and having to give more than half of it back was something I wasn't expecting when I started and needless to say almost all the stocks I was in then are defunct now and lot's of people lost lots of money. Looking back I still feel like I was part of the reason why people lost money in more than one of them.
My epiphany came when I dug up an unknown company at the time that barely even traded. I liked their business model and even started a board for them here where some of us would gather and talk about how great things would be if more people knew about them and it would just trade. The only volume in the stock for over a year was probably just me and a few others buying a few shares at a time. I managed to eek out around 500 shares over a years worth of bidding on the open market.
Then the guy who was the CEO of the company popped up on our board one day and the red flags went up for the DD Fraud team. It became an all out verbal brawl after that. A bit later, for whatever reason, the guy who was the new CEO appeared on CNBC to tout the company and the stock which was never really traded suddenly shot to 200 in one day. I sold all mine when it went over 100 but still hung on to fight against all the people who said there was something really wrong with it all, even accusing me of being an insider when I said that I had shares I purchased previously. It was not pretty.
I also had to come back to all those people and apologize to them later when it turned out they were right about it all being a scam along with my past transgressions. I never bought an OTC stock after that, I was done. I realized that the money I had made was not because the underlying company was doing well, it was because other rubes had purchased my stock and were now going to have to take the loss.
Then I went back and looked at some other places where stories of people losing small fortunes really started to hit home for me and I felt even worse.
I figured at that point it was time for me to repent. I took up a couple of projects that I knew were outright scams and hammered them relentlessly because I didn't want good people losing their ass to them. It wasn't just 'this stock is a scam' bullshit either. It was research, insider stock sales, court filings, background checks, building permits, city council meetings and much more.
All documented provable claims that went completely ignored. I was even accused of being paid to say bad things about the companies. I even ran into a woman that completely doxxed me. I had to change all my social media accounts, email addresses and personal accounts because I wasn't sure how low she was going to stoop and I was just getting set up to open my own business at that time.
I gave up after all that. When all the proof I was showing people proved to be actual fact and the stocks got suspended and revoked not one person came and said, you were right Newmed. Instead they still accused me of being in some sort of naked short selling scheme that ruined their pipe dream.
At least when I saw the light I went and apologized and gave it a go to try to be part of the solution rather than the problem.
If it weren't for forums like this, I would have been long gone from this site but I'm willing to accept that I'm not the smartest one in the bunch and still interact with people who I at one time despised for no other reason than my own greed. Those people don't hold a grudge against me either and are still more than willing to put me in my place when I get carried away and say stupid shit like I am so prone to do.
The only difference is now, I accept it, apologize if I made an error in judgement and I will never have to sweat an OTC stock ever again.
What they do is thankless business and you can be damn sure that nobody is getting paid to bash your stock when fact the opposite is true. It's the promoters who pocket the cash.
and as far as my gains from penny stocks go? I was stupid, trying to get rich quick. My original 2009 buys that I still hold included companies like Netflix that was trading around 10 a stub. Hell, GW, the reason why I first came here was under 2 dollars.
That ten grand that I opened my original Scottrade account with would have been way better served just dumping back into what I already owned.
Though I consider my time here a more than valuable experience and that's why I always like to come to share my stories because I have a fuckton of them.
It might help someone someday, but more often than not It's just me babbling.

THE COST OF COMFORT.
Using the 50% (needs)/30%

as a baseline, of the 100 largest US cities, six
would require a combined salary of at least
$300,000 in order for a family of two adults

less than $200,000 is enough to live comfortably

Ð.....So, shouldn't have waited on $NVO, but I'm buying a half position today. Currently $130.42.

For me, the inner white leaves of green cabbage are best for eating raw.
Raw green cabbage has a sharp smell, bitter and slightly peppery taste,
while the creamy dressing made with mayonnaise, sugar, cider vinegar,
salt, and pepper delivers a just right tangy-sweet flavor overall.
A cabbage by any other name might not make for a good cole slaw.
Cabbage for coleslaw? green cabbage, red cabbage, savoy cabbage, Napa cabbage.
For those that want a cabbage devoid of bitterness: Chinese flat cabbage
.
Ð.....Probably should have waited, but just bought $AVGO as it has pulled back $88 today. In at $1319. Hating the fact support is way down around $960
Which is the part for cole slaw?
Cabbage
What is the most nutritious part of cabbage?
Answer: the outer very green leaves
The sunlight hitting the heads of cabbage produces about 10 times
more flavonoids than you would get in those inner, less green, leaves.
Can you use the outer leaves of cabbage?
Larger outer cabbage leaves, which are often discarded, make great golubtsy.
Ð.....I don't know why I listen to the guys on TV, but hearing about $LLY being overvalued now, I've decided to sell half my position. A bit over a 500% gainer so am going to try not to look back like I have on $SMCI, (which is running again by the way).
After the sale, I'll still keep the last 500 or so shares, so still interested.
You all better start hitting on your penny stocks!!!!

I have my doubts about the quote below. Most money will be lost in Indian casinos and on penny stocks.
I read an interesting headline recently: “A huge wealth transfer means millennials are poised to become ‘the richest generation in history’”.
“It found that, over the next 20 years, the so-called silent generation — those typically born from 1928 to 1945 — and baby boomers — born between 1946 and 1964 — will “hand over the reins” to those born from 1981 to 1996 when they pass on their property- and equity-rich assets.
In the U.S. alone, Knight Frank said the shift would see $90 trillion of assets move between generations, “making affluent millennials the richest generation in history.”

LOL.....so deep.
The answer is.....I don't know. On rare occasions I come across someone like Susie who thanks me for showing them the light. I wonder if I changed my alias to "MotherTheresa" if I'd be treated differently?
I do, on occasion, get someone who privately thanks me.
I guess the very few whose minds I expand are worth the years of abuse?? Of course, over time, I've decided insulting them works just as well as being nice.
So, as usual, I guess the answer is.....Blame Susie.
Better yet, why do you that only trade real companies follow a few of penny stock boards that have been clearly shown to be scams of false companies. For sure the agenda of the folks on these IH boards pushing fraudulent schemes is obvious, as in to obtain cash returns from dumb-witted folks, and perhaps to inflict hurt and damage to others. But here it's those dumb-witted folks you focus on, as you try and understand how these smart folks relinquishment common sense and become dumb-witted investing folks in the quest for quick and easy big money without needing to know the methods of investing. Why they continue their dumb-witted irrational investing patterns rather than learn and accept that they have been dumb-assed. Perhaps they hold onto a false belief that eventually they will obtain that "quick and easy big money" and erase that they have been dumb-witted investors.
Ð.....I was just reading a Motley Fool article comparing ABBV to AMGN right now. MF says that at the moment AMGN is the better buy.......well......ummmm...
thats a definite maybe.
ABBV has just gone through a big run up. AMGN has falled off to its support line. Both pay around 3.5% dividend. AMGN definitely has the lower PE at the moment.
LOL....again, I have too many stocks, because I just noticed I sold my ABBV in 4/22. I was going to sell half and put it into AMGN now. Guess I can save a step.
Support on $AMGN is at $269. Currently $276. I'd like to buy it under $270, but might end up buying it at these prices if it bounces off support.
Ð....I just bought some $SMG. Just broke through resistance. Currently $65.68.
Dropping back below $60 would be a bad thing.
You buy the occasional penny stock. Perhaps you can explain something to me....
Often times I read posters claiming they bought MORE shares just to teach the "basher" a lesson.....what kind of investing strategy is this???
Another question.....I am constantly accused when I post negatively, of not convincing anyone to sell!....While I couldn't really care less if a stubborn idiot sells or does not sell, considering I'm posting on boards where the stock price is tanking....if I'm not convincing anyone, then who is??
One last question.....why would you short a penny stock, when it's so much easier to buy Puts on a real struggling company? It would be much cheaper, with far less risk, AND a shorter time period.
Oh yeah, how can penny stock mullets be so stupid for so long?
that's what I meant. You owe me a grub!
"... if I ever got to 10,000 posts here"
Question: Who got the 10,000th post here?

You stole my stinking GRUB that I've been waiting 20 years for!
I always knew if I ever got to 10,000 posts here, it would break the place.
