There is geography that a grappling hook can now begin holding to to slow the fall. As you know, miners, like gold, have ways of turning on a dime. But I see no immediate concern to hurry for a position...... And that is without knowing any fundamental premise for other outlooks.
I will be trading the S&P emini and 10 year treasury note most of the day.
Good luck

you can't beat this system. Fibonacci progressions.
i have one i call spider one with fibs %
A 600 level managerial finance class I had during the summer wanted a gold opinion. The professor and I had several mini opposing discussions about technical analysis. To throw another jab, my opinion was partially based on t/a from which a price elevation quantified a 2280 target through 5.5% Fibonacci progressions. Of course, any such quantification relies on your starting point. I do not recall that exact point. I would need to retrieve my notebook to locate it.
He was of forked-tongue - denounce technical analysis, then use it to demonstrate how a market opinion was formulated; ie, market bottoms form after a 20% retrace, etc. Asshole.
this chart? btm nearing?

South African gold production and share of total
gold production continued to decline, the reason for the
underperformance of the shares. Yet, it is still home to
50% of global gold reserves.
Annual shareholder meeting.
i actually been thinking to do more of drooy. price is little over book.
2280 club? how did ya arrive at this figure? i have it around 2500 ppo.
been gold bug since i started in markets.
i liked when vegas had silver dollar machine.
silver quarter ones too.
vi are you shareholder? reason. proxy vote/meeting to be held on nov.27,2009
anyone?
i don't understand it too well. company confused as usual?
i would like to see drooy spinoff into two companies.
and give shares to shareholders.
or some type of divy to us.
Sometimes an education can offer things you do not want to know. I am newly degreed. Crappo!
I fear we have not seen anything yet. Very big and bad medicine is on the way. I am in the $2280 club, but that is an estimate of lax quantitative bs. Those knowing more than I suggest $2000 to $8000.
Good luck
hi vi, nice comments. very interesting.
i'll place gold chart in ibox fer us.
i'm surprised u.s.a. wants higher gold ppo.
maybe new money with gold standard will be done.
i wonder if that would cause gold to stablize around 1500
area?
technically? not much for the moment. this one tore a hole in the bottom of a good bucket. you'd think miners are the way to go.
I'm doing a little with oil and oil services these days. watch oil and the dollar. I have certificates on silver at 10.71 and 10.73 - looking for at least 19.
DROOY was once gold bug favourite, back 8-10 years ago.
Here is the key reason:
Price/M&I gold in the ground: $17.2/Oz.
If u include other possible resources: $5/Oz
Typically, a gold Co would be sold for $100/Oz, which is
more than 5x upside for DROOY, although many Canadian miners
trade for $200 per gold Oz of M&I resources.
However, as gold bull roared, all RSA miners lagged, after
a spirited rally in 2001-2002. Especially DROOY, which can
be currently purchased at the price it was back in 2000. Naturally,
everyone left this POS alone.
It is dirt cheap.
But that does not mean it soars to $200 tomorrow.
As you can see, despite gold price soaring 4x since 2001, the
POS remains at the same price, if not below. Last year it
made an all time low. I don't see anything so drastically
wrong with the company, except for general RSA-related issues.
At first 2001-2002 rally in RSA miners was due to drastically
weakening rand. The rand strengthened in 2002-2005, and that,
at first, caused these post a loss. Lately the rand has been
weak, except this year. These companies started to be
profitable, and cheap. Yet, forgotten.
Amazing. All South African gold miners can be bought at
2000-2002 prices. Do you remember where gold was then?
I personally think this is a market mistake, to be corrected
as gold continues to soar higher. If so, the appropriate
price for these SA miners would be up 10-fold from here.
the wrong gold bug possibly started forum. i'm a gold bug. with just seling one x's over book is a goodie.
how many gold finds have this potential as drooy?
This board was dead for over 2 years and yesterday i posted a report on the company, LOL, Im just doing my DD as the report sparked my interest.
Kiwi
yes i do. i have held drooy a longtime. i thought it could do $20 by now. selling little over 1x's book.
got anything to share?
you got a lot of catching up to do
i didn't realized this was done back this long ago.
do you believe this company could be split in two as suggested couple years ago?
interesting kiwi. ta

DRDGOLD Limited (DRDGOLD) is a mid-tier, unhedged gold producer with a mix of assets – underground mines and surface re-treatment operations – and exploration activities in South Africa.

I just liked this bit>>>>>>>>>> NIA believes DROOY has tremendous upside potential at its current price of $7.20. In the late 1970s/early 1980s, the last time we had an inflationary crisis like the one we are rapidly approaching, DROOY made a run from below $20 per share to a high of over $520 per share!

DRDGOLD Ltd. trades on the Nasdaq under ticker symbol DROOY and operates gold mines in South Africa held through a 74% interest in DRDGOLD South African Operations Limited (DRDGOLD SA).
DROOY is our favorite South African gold mining company. South Africa is the #1 producing gold country of all time and DROOY was established in 1895 to exploit the Witwatersrand Basin, the world’s richest known gold deposit. That's right, DROOY has been around for over 100 years and about 40% of the gold ever produced in the world has come from the Witwatersrand Basin!
DROOY's Blyvoor mine is situated on the north-western edge of the Witwatersrand Basin, to the south of the town of Carletonville and 70 kilometres south-west of Johannesburg, in North West Province. The first ore was raised from the mine in 1942 and the life of the mine is projected to last until 2030, although the resource at Blyvoor is so widespread that production could extend for many years beyond that.
Total gold production from Blyvoor decreased in fiscal year 2009 by 8% to 129,473 ounces because seismic events caused rockfalls and two fatalities, which forced the mine to close for 17 production days.
DROOY had more problems at Blyvoor last month when 3,900 employees went on strike from September 15th until October 11th. The strike has since been resolved with DROOY agreeing to a 8% across-the-board basic wage increase.
DROOY's Crown Gold Recoveries is the world’s largest gold surface retreatment facility, reprocessing the large and numerous sand and slimes dumps along the reefs that stretch from east to west just to the south of Johannesburg’s central business district. In fiscal year 2009, Crown produced 80,377 ounces of gold.
DROOY's ERPM was an underground mining operation situated on the Witwatersrand Basin near the town of Boksburg, 25 kilometres to the east of Johannesburg. In fiscal year 2009, ERPM produced 34,174 ounces of gold. However, because of the cessation of ERPM's water pump, DROOY has decided to discontinue operations at ERPM.
ERPM ran an operating loss of about $7.5 million in fiscal year 2009 so the closure of ERPM could mean tremendous cost savings for DROOY in fiscal year 2010.
DROOY recently began production at a new project called ErgoGold, which will exploit up to 1.7 billion tonnes of surface tailings found near Benoni, Springs and Brakpan to the east of Johannesburg. Production from ErgoGold Phase 1 is expected to rise to 1.2 million tonnes of ore per month at an average head grade of 0.32 grams of gold per tonne. ErgoGold is expected to more than fill the production gap left by the closure of ERPM, but at a significantly lower cost.
DROOY also owns 13% of GoldMoney.com, where you can buy or sell gold and silver digitally online.
DROOY will be releasing its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2010 on Thursday, October 22, 2009.
In fiscal year 2009, DROOY produced a total of 247,690 ounces of gold. DROOY's revenues for the year were $211.2 million with net income of $12.2 million.
DROOY has 37.8 million shares outstanding giving it a market cap at $7.20 of $272.16 million. DROOY has a trailing P/E ratio of just 22 and a price/sales ratio of only 1.29.
DROOY has a strong balance sheet with $48.77 million in cash and only $9.39 million in debt. DROOY has a book value of about $5.40 per share.
DROOY is trading with a lower price/sales ratio and for closer to book value than any other gold mining company we have ever suggested!
NIA believes DROOY has tremendous upside potential at its current price of $7.20. In the late 1970s/early 1980s, the last time we had an inflationary crisis like the one we are rapidly approaching, DROOY made a run from below $20 per share to a high of over $520 per share!
Now that gold is reaching new all time highs there is no doubt in our minds that DROOY could be a huge opportunity to diversify into gold and protect yourself from hyperinflation!
DROOY was as high as $10.59 earlier this year and we believe the only reason it has been beaten down to $7.20 is because of the wage-related strike, which is now over!
Generally speaking, the best time to buy a stock is when it is most hated. Right now, everybody hates DROOY for the reasons we just discussed, but this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity that we may never see again!
