I started buying. My concern with this is that the dividend has dropped since inception and has never been raised. This might be one to avoid because of further dividend cuts.
Nobody posted here in years, so since it’s been so long I’ll post. I recently started buying this on big dip some weeks ago. Attractive dividend monthly and cheap entry. But I wouldn’t have bought this years ago bc price was much higher and I’m sure plenty lost their prin capital.
I remember this glad I sold my shares for fcisx
Is it monthly dividend ? And if it is how much monthly?
Bought me 100 shares last week penny, got any news and or info on this one as a long term holder. I would like in time to have 900 more shares cuz i really like the div.If i got in on feb the 6th will i get this months div or will i have to wait for march?

Another month, another dividend. DHY is a money making machine for those who don't mind having long term holdings.

Another month, and steadily along DHY goes. There should be a dividend declaration PR in the next day or two. This baby is on time month after month.
I expect that DHY's 1st Quarter Report will be out sometime this month. I will be interested to see what kind of earnings happened this quarter.
Right on schedule, DHY is going to be paying out a dividend of $.0265 per share to shareholders of record as of the 16th of March.
This is my favorite stock as it has low volatility and pays out its dividend each and every month like clockwork.

DHY will be announcing the March dividend either tomorrow or Friday. While you will have a couple of weeks to purchase before the EX date, the current stock price may be edging up in anticipation of that date. Might be a good time to get in.
Got my dividend Thursday, now I'm looking forward to next month to get another. The declare day will probably be Thursday the 1st or Friday the 2nd.
Like this fund. Adding some here and there.
Today is the pay date for the February dividend. About 7 days until the next announcement date for the March dividend. Month after month, this fund performed and puts money into the account.
DHY will be trading ex-dividend tomorrow, and the record date for the February Dividend will be Thursday the 16th.
Been trading slightly sideways for a few days, in what looks like a small consolidation. Ex-dividend and record date are coming up next week, so it should be interesting to see what will happen.
You are welcome. I was a little surprised that this Fund did not have a board of its own, and that there is very little chatter about it.
This is a great closed-end fund, with decent technicals and just looking at the chart makes me smile. Couple that with a monthly dividend payed out for the past 6 years running. I wish I would have put a lot more into it in my initial buy-in, but as it stands my dividends get reinvested right back into the fund at the NAV so it's a win win.
I look at this as a really good long term investment which I have stashed in my IRA. However if a person has enough capital they could make VERY good intraday gains just based on the 1-2% gains this has been making daily for several weeks now.
Not only that but the bond market is steadily getting better, so the rate that this fund makes on it's investments could be getting better month after month.
It's pretty exciting to me. And the best part is this fund is leveraged and doesn't have near the volatility that a typical sub $4 would have.
Thanks for the heads up on this one.

The monthly dividend announcement should be posted here in the next couple of days. I expect it to once again be $.00265 per share. Great chance to make a nice 10%+ return on your investment.
DHY up .02 again today, continuing it's steady climb over the past few weeks. I anticipate they will be announcing their February ex-dividend date sometime in the next 10-12 days. Looking at $.0265 per share dividend again next month.
