Thanks, Etrade still states 3/3.
I'm seeing 3/6/14 (Thursday) as scheduled earnings day. Nasdaq
Are they still scheduled to release earnings today? Anyone know?
Are they still scheduled to release earnings today? Anyone know?
Would sure be nice to hear something from the company though
I'm still here also, although I'm straddling the fence. In if PPS is less than 5.50 out at 5.65 today. I'm taking a big chance of waiting to get back in on a much bigger pull back. I just hope I don't get caught with my you know what down if good news come in before I get back in.
GLTA.
I thinking the same thing that they have something going
on behind the scenes. I will wait it out.
I'm here too, just being patient and distracting myself on other boards. No action here yet, but it is like a game of patience because there will be news eventually. I am thinking it will be positive news.
I'm here! lol -- just don't have any news to report. No change to company website since the jobs were changed to contract positions and we still do not have a set date for CC.
All we need is a spark...
I suppose so. I sold the pop and bought back in for the buyout around $5.69 with a smaller position. I had planned to sell my position today if we got no news on the call, however, that has been pushed back which leads me to believe they are working something out. So I'm now holding to see what they come up with.
$CHTP
Eventually we will get a pop. So for now I guess its just
us two...
Everyone rolled out after FDA approval. Too much silence from management.
I sold everything when the pps hit the 5.80's, and got back in 5.63 and 64. That was some nice weekend get-away money. I think I will use it for next week's weekend for a drive down to Key West for the weekend. I also did good on one of the MJs today. I had to do something to make up for that big butt whipping I took in profit losses on CHTP. Let's hope that we get much better news on Monday then we did today from CHTP.
Yep I saw that too. Hopefully we do hear something next week as that is my breaking point assuming we hear nothing. But, I'm holding confidence that all this silence will pay off and that obviously, but not so obviously, something is in the works. Have a good weekend my man!
Serious volume at end of the day today, brought us to even.
Hopefully that is a sign of good things to come next week!
Well, no confirmation as of right now on earnings report from the company. Perhaps it was pushed back as I've heard.
Alright Oliveto, I'm assuming you will be working overtime this weekend getting this deal worked out. I'm also assuming that you aren't settling for less, but hey, who knows. What I do know is that at this point, less is better than nothing and than going at it on your own!
Have a good weekend!
I had to sell most of my stake too. I sold around 90% of what I was holding. I'm still holding the little I have left on hopes of a buyout or maybe even a partnership but if they announce they are going at it alone I'll sell the rest and watch from the sidelines for a while.
I actually thought there was some real news posted before viewing. Silly of me..
Well, another stock I'm in released information regarding their CC to occur next Friday. CHTP hasn't actually come out and announced when they are discussing the quarterly numbers. The 3/3 and 3/6 dates have only been thrown around as estimates...
GL with future trades, but I hope you don't jump the gun on this one!
I agree there bro. By Monday should tell us whether or not it's a go at it alone or partnership. As of now, it's looking a lot like a go at it alone, and if that's the case, I will too sell and potentially buy back down the road.
I hope the pps goes up much higher before you unload. I have lost thousand on profits when I bought back in. Today I recoup some of my losses when CHTP share price came back up in the seventies. It scared the hell out of me this morning when it drop to $5.40 before the market open. I thought we were heading for a down fall. Thank God that didn't happen. I'am going to hold on for a buyout or merger, but not a do it alone "piece of crap".
Well, really we only have one day (tomorrow) unless we are to count on Monday for some kind of PR. Other bios like ARIA will be killing it near term and I don't want to waste my time messing with management here.
I'm giving them until Monday and have to unload unfortunately.
Volume dried up - sellers are gone. Buyers bringing the price back up little by little. Level II showing $5.76 if we can get through $5.73, and some support growing around $5.70.
One day at a time!
Droxidopa story in the news. Last Year

Well, at this point, I will be holding thru Monday at the latest depending on what's said, or NOT said, on the call. Many bios I follow are making moves.
Not seeing the connection? These two companies are completely different from both a pharmaceutical and business prospective. I'm not following...
Take a look at ANIK on recent FDA approval, this is the route CHTP should have taken...
CHTP had some time, at least 1 month, to execute something like this...
GLTA
Ouch. Yea, that would definitely ignite a sell off I must say. Folks were banking on a buyout immediately after approval, and if not, then by the end of this week, and if not that....well, by March 3rd. Where the bottom here come a sell off is beyond me (I don't even want to try and imagine). But, we need to hear something soon as communication is EVERYTHING.
I didn't mean to make it sound as though it's a binary event: buyout announcement or go it alone, on the March 3rd date. I'm still banking on the idea of a buyout/merger/licensing deal -- just not expecting it to happen next week.
What I am worried about is the investor sentiment around the March 3rd date -- if people are expecting such news and don't get it right away, there is going to be a huge sell off, IMO. Keep the faith, we might just not hear the news we want until later this year.

I for one won't be getting over that idea said with all due respect. With a venture capitalist background in a CEO, talks should have been going on well ahead of the FDA approval as to how things would pan out after approval, which we now have. Post approval should have simply been conforming the final numbers and signing a deal (which I still believe is the case here) and informing shareholders.
If they're going at it alone, that's all good and fine, but this should have been told to us days ago. This silence had better be the final deal being worked out because we can't be left in the dark.
Again, I'm only stating how I feel about the situation so I'm sharing my view. But I'd be highly disappointed and would demand management change come March 3rd if I hear "oh we couldn't get a deal done and we're going at it alone". Either way, I'm holding my now doubled down position til at least Mondays call.
I think we all (myself included) should get over the idea of a buyout announcement on/around the March 3rd date. I do assume that talks were in the works before approval, but such an announcement is not likely to take place so quick. Especially when you consider the kind of money we are talking about here. Kinda screws me with my call position, to be honest.
With that being said, we should expect guidance on/around this date as to how the next few months should play out. Hints towards taking the next steps alone or not will be what everyone is looking for. Without those hints or "go-it-alone" news, traders will run for the hills and we'll see a potentially large decrease. On the other hand, any sort of positive news or hints toward partnership/buyout could lead to considerable gains.
Good luck.
thank you so much man
In addition to Yahoo at $9.17 and Nasdq at $8, JPM has CHTP price target at $12, DB has a target of $8 and Oppenheimer has a high of $12 and a low of $8.

A quick Google search for M&A Biotech timeline yielded a couple good things to read. Not that they apply specifically to this situation, but if you're going to play in the biotech world these are things good to know:
My favorite:
http://www.nature.com/bioent/2014/140201/full/bioe.2014.1.html
- great/new/relevant article based on statistics regarding acquisitions. As mentioned in the article, orphan drug companies are more likely to be acquired at a later stage. Guess where CHTP is? I just wish I had a better understanding of how long between approval and acquisition (which is what I am searching for statistics on).
Skip to slide 20:
http://www.morganlewis.com/pubs/Biotechnology_MA_Presentation_28oct10.pdf
- just good to know information regarding the process of M&A
Wall Street focused article from Jan 2014:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-01-10/m-a-boom-seen-in-2014-as-drug-hunt-spurs-biotech-deals.html
- just more good to know information regarding the mindset of pharmaceutical companies and what is believed to be the focus in 2014.
More Wall Street focused, but if you like Adam F:
http://www.thestreet.com/story/12214559/1/everything-you-need-to-know-about-biotech-ma-in-a-single-chart.html
- my take away is that the value of biotech acquisitions is going up. Could that mean the valuation of CHTP is greater than we're expecting? Analyst estimates tend to be a joke in biotech from my experience. $12 to me seems low, but I have no evidence to back that up.
From New Edva Artcile: "Shares pulled back yesterday on a Seeking Alpha article which seemed to dim prospects of market penetration, adoption by the medical community and so on. People need to understand that there is no other option for this condition and there is no limitation of prescription which is what was feared, not by us but from numerous quarters spreading FUD. One strategy I see is that of averaging down or adding if you held or opening a new position if you sold. I see a partner or a buyout in the future and I take some of the analyst opinions that I have read in that vein as instructive. While some have complained about what they consider to be lack of communication from the company, I am actually heartened by it in this age of over-communication. There is no need for hand holding here folks. I assume (and yes it is an assumption) that CHTP management is in serious discussions regarding its next steps and has been well before they gained FDA approval for Northera. The stock is now trading at pre-approval levels so we consider it to be a pretty strong buy. Like PLUG, there is time sensitivity here as we think that news of a partnership or buyout may be imminent."
Well played sir...you win this round lol I see what you are saying though and I agree. I may sell part of my position though(cause too much of my holdings are in one company) and hold the rest for possible buyout or partnership.
Preach my friend!
It is all about time - and where your money does the most work. Currently, we are in a waiting period. Waiting for news of some sort (or in the big picture, waiting for sales/earnings reports). Traders who jumped into the stock are now looking for places they can make money today, not a month or 6 months from now. So if your money in another stock can gain you 5% today, but holding this stock won't get you that gain until later - where are you going to put your money?
Investors hold, traders trade. Only one of those two types are worried about being on the outside if/when good news comes.
Any theories on why its still dropping and possibly how far it will drop?
Long live King Leonidas...
