Looking for buyout announcement this week before March 3 ER. Looking to double down again and extra flip.
This is a great sign. Trust me, it is. That was a key level to stay above. Longs will benefit. If it closed below that, we may have had a problem.
Anyone else see it as a positive sign that the price didn't stick under $6/share on Friday? Options expired in the money, maybe not by much, but from my experience whenever the price is hanging around the strike at expiration, the price is generally held under so the options expire worthless.
Just an observation...Monday we'll know more.
i hope conditions changed and price go up starting on monday morning or i will feel real risky
shorted right after approval. CHTP doesn't have enough cash to manufacture and market on their own. They need a buyer, they have been quiet since their approval, not even one PR. Something is up.
Why it's not much up after FDA approval ? All was hype ?
you are assuming TEVA is buying? Don't get me wrong, I have been holding since the approval because I believe a buyout can happen, however a buyout by TEVA is just an opinion at this point
Big investors collect small investors sell too quick awaiting nice leg up with teva
Someone just bought 50000 shares teva on the way
Depends on the buyout agreement. If I had to guess, which essentially everyone is doing at the moment, I'd say $10-$12. Orphan drug...
how the impact of price will be if the buyout announced 8 9 10 ?
My sentiments exactly.
I strongly doubt dilution. And I mean strongly as I don't see the point. To me, this silence is being forced on them and it is beyond obvious given that their hands are tied. At some point there will be a surprise announcement of a buyout agreement IMO, and if I were the buyer, you damn right I would make them keep silent in order to keep the PPS down. If They were to speak on a buyout the PPS would rise instantly and now the buyout price has to be higher. At least that is the way I see it looking at it from a "business decision" standpoint.
Selling 1/2 today, not happy with the way this is trading. They are being silent, that makes me think, next news might be dilution.
yep..General opinion is train stopping at station called TEVA but I will add another destination SHIRE ))
10 to 11 that's where the deal would be train is at 20 miles an hour hop in if you can
All their actions since the biggest day in this company's existence tells they are talking deal..If secondary was coming, the pumping machine would be working overtime...I am liking the silence so far....Let them talk...Don't need any CC...Just need announcement of deal
All aboard...
you know that so strange how come not even 1 statement from the company since approval
Those who didn't get on the train better get on train before they are left with nothing
Hey get ready a ride to 10 it's coming all indications stock heading that way I followed this stock when it was 2 and change few months ago
Feb option players are getting killed.
Lid is tight at $6. Brokers will call clients to urge to take action or to confirm plan for exercise by Sat noon. Then MM will release the lid and let the price ride above $6 this afternoon.
AF/street.com article is very good indicating good price action after fear of secondary offering resolves one way or the other. If no news for financing this weekend,I believe BO talk is substantial. Unless the management has reasonable conviction for BO or Partnering,CHTP has to raise money NOW!
CHTP Trading Above the pivot point of 5.96,next resistance @ 6.30
good morning all ..
today i hope not to see more decline in price
Agreed. Monday's price action will be more indicative of where we really stand than anything we see tomorrow.
Chart maintaining above test levels of 5.59-5.78 holding strong hopefully blue skies!
My personal opinion is that the news (Northera Approval) has already been bought and sold. I would think that the MM will try to hold the Six Dollar Strike on expiration tomorrow, but usually there is a split between the option bid and ask on the last day of the front month option. Time premium has eroded and intrinsic value is all thar remains. I would sale immediately if the PPS gets back up to $6.00 or more at any time tomorrow. Just my Humble Opion (JMHO).
ALL THE BEST
GULL
I like CHTP long term with this FDA approval. I think it should trend higher these coming months.
I have zero doubts that a buyout is coming, but SIERRA isn't a credible source at all. Perhaps it will be TEVA, but I'm not counting on Sierra's call at all. I've bough back in at 5.90 based on real DD Haha. But I agree, it would be too late after an announcement essentially...
The company is going to announce it any day. It could be tomorrow. watch for the next pr news, but it might be to late to get in after the announcement.
You are right, never take advice from message board...
But here it my advice...
I am not sure about how soon CHTP will release any news that may make the stock spike. I do not believe it will be this week. I noticed on my broker account that they are scheduled to announce earnings on 3/3/14. I do not know how accurate that is and if the approval pushed that date.
I do not trade calls or puts, so I guess go with your gut and experience.
If I were to take a guess, any company that was thinking about buying them out or merging would be looking very closely at the ongoing studies the FDA requested and whether the results could burst NORTHERA's bubble. This of course, IMO, would take a more than 2-3 days.
Maybe they are getting their ducks in a row for a announcement during earnings.
GLTU.
P.S. If the price tends to go LOWER over the next few days or weeks, I may buy via retirement accounts as I think this will pop again, but I do not know when.
Now that is funny. I wonder how she gets her tips? lol
Never take advice from people on a message board, but....... I need some advice. I think we will get back to even today but I have calls to sell before tomorrows closing. Do you think I would do better to dump them today or wait and hope for some news or public comment by Chelsea tomorrow in hopes that it may spike?
That is why as a retail investor I always sell once I have a 30% profit in any stock, sometimes it is hard to do but you will always end up with more cash.
Sierra...not credible at all. May as well be Wikipedia.
Do you have a link?
i have held thru the approval, awaiting on bigger news. the risk was high and the reward so far has only been 20-35% gain, not much reward considering the risk. Something is up, haven't heard from Chelsea since approval
I feel as though the MM's are going to continue to hold the pps down until after the Feb calls expire.
Kudos to you that are believers in this company and still holding through the $5s, but remember, never fall in love with your stock picks.
GLTA.

Chelsea Therapeutics International (NASDAQ: CHTP)
Chelsea Therapeutics International, Ltd., a development stage pharmaceutical company, focuses to acquire and develop products for the treatment of various human diseases. The company develops prescription products for multiple autoimmune disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and cancer. It also develops therapeutic agent for the treatment of neurogenic orthostatic hypotension and related conditions, and diseases. In addition, the company develops platform technologies that consist of a portfolio of molecules for the treatment of various autoimmune/inflammatory diseases, and I-3D portfolio, a dihydroorotate dehydrogenase inhibiting compound. Chelsea Therapeutics' product in development includes CH-1504, an orally available molecule for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, psoriatic arthritis, and cancer. The company was incorporated in 2002 and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Chelsea has a balanced portfolio of novel therapeutic agents that address disease states that correspond to significant unmet medical need. Investigational product candidates in the Chelsea pipeline include droxidopa, which is being evaluated for its potential use in indications which we believe norepinephrine may play a role, as well as a library of metabolically inert antifolate medications, including two clinical-stage products, CH-4051 and CH-1504, for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases.
Behind these late and mid-stage products is a complementary portfolio of dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) inhibitors, known as I-3D, which may have applications in treating autoimmune diseases and transplant rejection.
