what do you guys think about this comment made by someone at the end of the SA article? I don't know much about PCB printing, maybe you guys do.

The photos in this article display liquid photoimageable solder mask (no longer used by any serious prototyping house), suitable for home hobbyists. Modern solder mask is dry film photoimageable solder mask (DFSM), also known as 'dry mask over bare copper' - a hi-tek Dupont product - note the "photoimageable" reference, which means you don't have to "remove the holes" as described in this article. More importantly, adhesiveness of the soldermask to the laminate board is crucial to the wave soldering process, and requires a complex chemical bond that likely cannot be achieved using a "3D printing process". I suspect that the so-called "3D soldermask printer" would more appropriate in silkscreening (the white component designation markings you see on a board) than in soldermasking... although the traditional silkscreen process is already quick cheap and effective.
The whole thing is a blatant pump, but i managed to make a few shekels off it today :)

I agree. I have bought some at 5.40, 6.00, 4.15 and a whopping amount at 3.88.
It would be nice to have a ten Bagger.
Lets start with letting stepping stones. I would love to see $10 then $15 $20 then a major squeeze to 30 or 40 Dollars a share in the next couple of Years. With only 29 million shares out this is a Very nice possibility.
You missed out on .71 cents. Im holding this one. Selling half my position at 10.00
This company is for real. No pump and dump.
Do the homework.
LONG CAMT.

Camtek CEO, Roy Porat:
We are expecting our long-term growth plans to mature with the plant launch of 3D inkjet solder mask printer next year. I want to add a short update on our 3D digital inkjet solder mask printer, last quarter we reported that we have internally passed the technology feasibility phase and expect to bring a product into benefiting early next year, today we should reassured that you can show the technology the ink, the ink heads and the application. In our opinion, the main technology risk is behind us most of the current tasks are on an engineering level and we expect to start test at a customer site within eight to 12 weeks it has been a long way in getting this point.
We are excited and despite a much longer development stage and originally planned, we believe we are ready for these first customer tests to remind all of you, this 3D solder mask printing technology will expand our addressable market by an additional $600 million to $700 million, no doubt a big number for Camtek, it creates a great opportunity to sell many printers, but even more exciting is the opportunity for future consumable ink revenues.
I will think it will have a big impact on the revenue line in the near future, no doubt in my mind again as I've said I think, the risk element big part of the risk element is behind us in terms of the technology, and we're few weeks from putting tooling to a customer. And I think the next milestone is really meeting this milestone which will be few weeks from now. So by next quarter call, I hope I'll have more interesting update. And I think we'll take it one step at a time and I don't think I want to go into details right now of expected revenues in 2014, a little bit too early for us to estimate.
And we have to remember, although 3D printing is it's a technology out there already, but 3D printing for our application, which is a functional 3D printing, has not been done yet in the world. So as far as I know we're the first one.

Camtek: Untangling The 3-D Printing Story
Dec 2 2013

I jumped into this stock under $4 looking good but why so volatile?
What exchange is GOE on Gary? Company Name?
Based on PM trading, I bought back shares of CAMT for short term trade. Have nice core position I'm holding for commercialization of GreenJet printer.
Looking strong in premarket.
Also bought more GOE- the most undervalued 3D Printing Stock out there at the moment IMO.
I see Camtek was up 18.47% in Israel today to close at 1700.
Not sure what the currency is. I thought it was shekels but when I convert it to U.S. I get close to 500.
Is this an ADR
I agree with you.Only 30M OS this new product will boost the company's revenue and in that way EPS and PPS.
Thanks Gary..... PR was definitely muddled, but sounds like it will create a new market for them which is much bigger....... Not sure what their market share is now, but if this new machine is the best technology for PCB, then it makes sense that they could command a big slice of the 600-700 million market.
Both DDD and ssys have about half of the 3D sales....so the question becomes is this tech going to be a must have?
They don't need to get 100% of the market share, 25% share would make this a worthy investment IMO
yes, camt was referring to addressable market, you are right.
i think camt would have done themselves a favor if they had not called it a 3D printer because at least in the sense we are talking about it (and in the sense other investors may have understood it) it is not a 3d printer. from my reading at least, it looks like a more refined and efficient inkjet printer that eliminates the hassle of drying, coating etc. and makes the process of solder deposition very streamlined. to that effect, i think they have a good product (unless others are already doing it on a large scale; i don't know, maybe someone can fill us on that).
i agree with gary. i think they have a decent shot at it. i will keep holding some of my shares unless of course negative news comes......
glta.
Thanks for the info....
I recall the $600 - $700 million is addressable market.
Addressable market is completely different than market share.
Addressable market means they can compete against others to win this business.
Market share is the overall percentage of the market that they are actually capturing with sales of their product.
Their business will only increase by the $600 - $700 million if they are able to capture 100% of the addressable market. This is highly unlikely.
Yes, that's what I just got back today.
I think their 11/26 clarification was meant to clear things up, but at least in my opinion, it didn't accomplish that goal.
Is it a buy now?
That's for others to decide themselves.
I have shares that I'm holding because I think they have a shot at making something happen in the $600-$700M PCB market, but I sold my trading shares.
I had also emailed the IR earlier in the week. Kenny, I guess one of there IR ppl got back to me and he confirmed that it is a solder mask deposition printer. The following is my question to them and their answer:
---------------------
Hi,
I recently became an investor in Camtek after the announcement that the company is geared to make its first 3D Printer. Would you be able to clarify as to exact nature of the printer (i.e. the GreenJet Printer)? Is it a solder mask deposition inkjet printer, or can it print an entire PCB?
Thanks for clarifying,
Ankit
---------------------
It is a solder mask deposition printer.
Kenny
---------------------
Yes, as it makes a difference I think.
I sent their IR contact another email today asking for clarification on this- will update when I hear back.
Superman sold out today. Be very careful imo.
Unfortunately then, whoever you were talking to was an idiot. Other brokers are trading the stock left and right now.
Yes, I called and they have no symbol to trade it under.
I HAVE SCOTTRADE // BOUGHT IN @ THE OPEN
CA CAMT $$
They don't allow trading on the NYSE Euronext? Are you sure?
That seems odd.
it's owned and operated by the NYSE- not like it's some obscure exchange in a 3rd world country.
I can do it with both Fidelity and Interactive Brokers.
Unfortunately neither my scottrade or TD account trades GOE....
Whatever the new printer is, it will expand their market which should promote growth and the company has a strong balance sheet.
